We got a vizsla puppy. Her name is Vilja, and in this video we bring her home to Brännskär. We have been planning to get a dog for many years and now seemed to be the right time. We got her from Finland; Kennel Kallioalanteen. Her kennel name is Kallioalanteen Regina ( mum Kallioalanteen Kreeta, dad Cinkei Bicska). We have been waiting for her to come to us since July, when we first heard that the litter was on the way.
We chose the breed because it is friendly, loyal, active and great for hunting.
What is your dream/favorite dog breed?
Vizsla love to sleep inside human bed under the blanket. If you want to make her happy you can authorize her to sleep on your bed (not under the blanket but on top of it) during the night. If you choose to do that you will see she will always choose to sleep curled position near your feet, that's how Vizsla sleep : at the feet of their master. But she will always be in a different position when you wake up : for example sleeping on her back with her legs straight up crossed and her head turned toward her tail or something weird like that. She won't try to come under the blanket during your sleep if you said no from the beginning. Scientists have proven that sleeping with your dog increase the bond you have with him/her on the long term. Also try to remember to give her something to "hide" inside her own bed. Like a puffy blanket or something like that, Vizsla love to be able to cover themselves, they burry themselves under blankets because they like that (lot of dogs do as it gives them protection feeling and warmth) and here being a shorthaired dog in a cold area she may like it more. And be ready to see a lot of "weird" behaviours, for example you'll see that before going to bed at night your Vizsla will suddenly start running and spinning around the house at 300km/h ... that's normal. Or always "talking" (in Vizsa of course) thats normal too (an its actually funny because you can have real conversations). And when she will grow up if you notice destructive behaviour (for example eating your furnitures, eating your walls, eating your couch chairs etc etc.) then it means she is bored and need more exercice and more time with you. But it may never happen to you as you have lot of room for her to play and exercice :) Thanks for the video and i wish you the best.

Great video ! You cannot choose a better dog breed as the HUNGARIAN VIZSLA ! She will be so devoted to both of you as you cannot believe it ! Very lovely dog . I am from Hungary but living in CANADA. Enjoying every moments with her she deserve it .

These dogs are without doubt the best in the world. Our second male is 6 years old and he is just the perfect companion.

Good luck! ...our Vizsla is almost 3 years old..... they are certainly a handful....the first year is the hardest...but they become great dogs!

I'm so happy for you (even though I'm two years late). We have vizslas ourselves and they are a wonderful family dog! We're getting two puppies in a few weeks which is very exciting. Vizslas are the sweetest and are like velcro to your side. Wonderful dog breed to get!

🥰 stora världen väntar. I trygga vardagsrummet är hon en riktig piraja vilding 🙈 dom levererades vid 8 då dom var ganska moga. Vanligtvis kanske 10 veckor men nu kom julen och sånt emot. Dom han vara en vecka redan utan sin mamma på kennel och klara de hur bra som helst 😊

That is so funny. They do get bored quickly. Vizslas are not originally from Hungary...... their actually incognito Vizslas from Kripton .... that is why they have dawned a golden colored coat. Unlike Kripto ( Super boy’s Dog )which was white . You know what I mean if you ever watch a Vizslas athleticism they practically fly.
Watched again to get my fix of Vilja as a puppy. Love the scene where you guys are home and introducing her. Puppy vizlas are so adorable. She's great a a grown up dog, but she melts my heart as she was when you first got her.💙

Congtatiolations! 🤩 If you are dog people and you set your plan and rules before your puppy moves home to you, it will be joyfull! A Vizsla puppy like all other babies has to walk through life and learn one thing at the time 😊 We use a Mavic 2 pro for the drone shots.
@@thenordicway I’m now spending the 3 month wait time learning new training skills. My last dog was awesome and I did a lot with him. Heart still broken he is gone. Taught him to play frisbee and fully off leash trained. But I want to teach this one so much more, and it sounds like they need “the work”. Hopefully you will show some of your training techniques.
Nice drone! I just got into drones with a DJI Mini 2. If I like it as much as I think, I’m also looking at the Magic 2 Pro, or the Evo II Pro. I want good tracking features to record our adventures!

Thats a long story 😊 Basically the opportunity appeared and I (Simon) allready worked on the island so we decided to go for it and here we are! Getting a Vizsla was a decision we haven't regret for a single moment!

a wise word right from the horses mouth, yeah, I am of hungarian origin. After the first 18 months, start some regular running with the youngster dog. Not before.

I heard but don't know if true, that the brown nosed Vizsla, like you
have, has the best calm loving character. The black nose and white nose
can be more aggressive and neurotic as puppies. Also heard from a
Breeder, that to calm a puppy down to turn them on their back in your
lap and hold them in a submissive pose until they stop squirming, this
makes YOU the "Alpha" and they will obey better. TIP: Biting and chewing
is because the puppy is teething, and teething is uncomfortable. If if
you take a wet washcloth and roll it up like a bone and freeze it give
it to the puppy to chew. the cold numbs the pain. Cold Carrots are good
too. Crying puppy is separation anxiety best to have her crate next to your bed
where she can see you. These are just general notes for new dog owners who might be
reading. You have a beautiful girl. Thanks for sharing.

@@thenordicway , exactly, it's like having a human baby at home, so much responsibility, yet, so much fun and happiness. I grew up with German shepherd dogs and I never expected to fall in love with a vizsla ;)

Hi! We got it from the kennel owner when we brought her.. i think it is handknitten...so there is no size tag. But how many weeks is your puppy when you will bring him/her home?
I think size 35 was ok for us, little bit big but thats good becouse they grow so fast!

She's exactly the same age as my Rhodesian Ridgeback. They are energy dogs too, it was tiring the first month at home. Now she's much more calm and attentive ! Do you have an instagram account for her ? I would love to see her growing ! My Ridgeback is called Syrah, we live in Switzerland. @swiss.ridgeback.syrah
Ridgeback was Simons dream dog for many years. But becouse of his hunting interest and some other facts we chose to get a Vizsla. But we thought about getting ridgeback for a few years.😊 The_nordicway is our instagram, see you there👉
