I was born in 1950. This brings backs of memories of so many stories that first my parents read to us and eventually I read to my brothers. We were constantly on the look0ut in any empty field, at the beach, in the mountains, pretty much every where we could search and dig. I never found a Magic Lantern with a Geni. But I had a great time looking and did find many treasures. Thanks for sharing this.

Hello! Of course, it did not damage it, because brass is resistant to corrosion. Brass only oxidizes. It is a non-ferrous metal. Only steel and iron are damaged.

The work done on this lamp is beautiful, no doubt about that. That being said, I do doubt that the lamp itself is an "antique". The craftsmanship and fine detailing is too smooth and clean, suggesting that machinery was used in its manufacture. The chain and connector rings looked pretty new even before they were restored, too. My best guess is that this is a mass-produced replica of an antique lamp, probably made within the last 30-40 years.
Excellent restoration! I really like the green patina though, if aged well that it adds so much more character to a piece of brass. This piece was well beyond that. Thanks for allowing us to see your work all the way in central California, USA .
