Actually, this is the next model up: the TLM 103 (about 50% more expensive than the 102, which was indeed the model she had when she was 12). You can tell them apart by the appearance of the ring just below the grill: the ring of the 102 is bright and shiny, whereas that of the 103 is duller and looks more like the base of the mic, below the ring (assuming it's the silver version of the mic, of course). The ring of the 102 is also narrower, but that's less obvious when you're just looking at a single microphone. The 103 also has visible screws on the ring itself, which the 102 lacks. (In the original video, a screw is barely visible above the knuckle of her index finger.)

Maybe this one is not hers? I wonder what preamp, equalizer/mixer, etc. she uses. I notice an echo in this recording, but I think it is natural from the bare rooms. She doesn't need much for that voice!

Having a perfect, beautiful singing voice is one of the most coveted qualities in the world. The ability of the voice is almost like a reflection of the soul. Her pure singing voice touches us and touches our hearts in a way that is unlike anything else. The ability to sing in the right tone and convey the feelings of the music. To push into the rhythm of the song and perform the joy of music to the audience. We can only imagine what level her music will hold in the future if she continues on the same path. She's music ... ❤
the quivering rasp in her voice is something to behold. it gives this performance an emotional resonance that most covers lack. I purposely looked for covers of Yesterday by young female artists and I have to admit they are all ordinary compared to Angelina's rendition. I mean, they can sing and sing really well. They tried different rifts and runs, showing their ranges, proving their skills, but they did not succeed in delivering that feeling of longing for a 'yesterday'. In fact, I questioned some of their artistic choices. Like why did you go high there? seems out of place. Angelina's version, on the other hand, delivers what sir Paul wants, and more. a lot more. I listened and actually longed for my own persnal 'yesterday'.
The problem with covering a McCartney song is that he is a perfectionist, and every note and cadence is exactly the right one for the song. You can change the style, the singing, the dynamic, but unless you have something new to say you can't change the melody as she did here. The melody IS the song.
Another masterpiece from Angelina. No one is better at evoking emotions and moods than this beautiful young girl. She makes "Yesterday" sound like today! Her presence and infinitely beautiful voice are just stunning.
What she'll do next🤔🤔.....I really don't know. .and this is the beauty of it...But she is young and I suppose she could have differents periods...like painters have. Put Angelina together with a classic melancholic song. Even on this song that we’ve heard a thousand times, we listen intently to every line because we’re waiting to hear what she does. She give us her jazz-lite here, and plays with the melody enough to make the song her own. Her voice here and in Billie Jean can best be described as delicious. I think you’re right that she’s turned a corner. We’re getting more of the style that makes Angelina unique, but I believe she will keep moving on musically. She doesn’t stay in one groove or style. What’s next? I’m hoping Angelina goes back to old school blues and covers some Janis Joplin. She could re-invent some of those classics in her own style, but she absolutely has the musical chops to do justice to Janis.
Wow, Adam - you were hitting on all cylinders with this one. Someone said to me that they consider Angelina to be a great experimenter where most experiments turned out great but a few, less so and I would have to agree with that. I think that she will continue trying new things in her JazzyPop lane in the near term but as a sage reactor once said (after hearing the cover "Stay"), "OK. Alright. We are dealing with a genius". And she, being an experimenter genius, will take her music places that may very well surprise most of her fans. Her style of JazzyPop is unique to her and in that sense, she has created her own genre' and so, there may be more unique genres' on the horizon. This is all opinion of course, and I look forward to all of her future surprises.

Sorry it took so long to like and subscribe to your channel. Been watching you from your first reaction to Angelina but was never registered for You Tube. Finally bit the bullet and gave up my secret information to another big brother entity. You have always impressed me with your astute observations and clear understanding of how music should work and who are the better at it. I know you were into Aurora before finding AJ and I also think Aurora’s songs are very unique and surreal sounding. Later you started reacting to Dimash who can hit notes only dogs can hear. Again he is unique and very special. My problem besides being over 70 is I can’t listen to more than 1 song from them at a time. Not just them but many others as well. I can listen to Angelina for hours watching reaction after reaction even to the same song. She can brighten my day and sooth my nights. Yes she sings a lot of classics from many long gone great performers but I enjoy most of the newer songs she covers making them understandable and adding warmth and emotion where others just hit every note invented. Anyway thanks for doing a great job and if everyone sounded like Angelin it could very well be boring after a few years, or 10🙉

Adam, this has nothing to do with her record label. They have done her 2 originals (Million Miles & 7th Heaven), but she & her uncle/manager, Michael Astar, have put this together, along with the Billie Jean video. These colored rooms are at a studio in LA, she's using her own mic she got for her 12th Birthday, the piano track is a commercial karaoke track & Michael directed & edited the video. Two masterpieces on a minimal budget & all in the family. Although she's not mentioned in the credits, I bet grandma Mery had a hand in this, as well. Republic Records seem to be letting her do her thing on the side. Thanks Republic!!!
I agree with much of your comment, but dispute you statement that the piano is a karaoke track. Angelina’s version of Yesterday is nearly 30 seconds longer, so that would meaning tinkering with the speed of the backing track, which would not sound right. Like in her Adel cover, I think the backing track has been provided by Republic Records or some other pianist.
@@yves2932 Can't figure how you know that. Looks like the same Neumann 102 she used on earlier videos. Maybe she's upgraded to the 103, which doesn't have the chrome band like the 102, and costs about 50% more. She's not close enough for me to tell like she was in "Stay" etc., which obviously was a 102 with the chrome band. Or maybe it's the TLM 49, which costs more than twice as much as the 102, and is a little larger. Wish we could ask her. Maybe Rusty knows.

The part that I loved the most was AJ sitting in the shopping cart! I mean, who came up with that idea? Of course Angelina was meant to sing this song. It is right up her alley. She sounded different in that the microphone or maybe other equipment that was used...It was awesome though. There are so many beautiful songs from "way back when" she could spend years singing them. I don't know whether to think of her as a "Nightengale" or a "torch singer".....probably both...she is so versatile. Great review with a good question, what or who is her next choice?

The original is so embedded in my brain that it took a few listens to stop hearing the 'errors'. Now I can appreciate what Angelina has done with it and agree it is another excellent performance.

Adam, she is so unique and her video's are constructed to transform her into the past . It's almost as if she's been there before. What is also so intriguing is the more you listen to the song, it gets better and better. That's usually the case with Angelina. Why? 'm not sure but I think it has something to do with how authentic she is.
Of course, there's no telling whether the next release from Angelina will be a cover or an original, but if it's a cover, there's a good chance it'll be a song we've heard her sing a bit of already, given that she released short clips of "All I Ask", "Heal the World", and "Yesterday" (the first 2 on Instagram and the last on TikTok) before she released the full covers of those. ("Billie Jean" is a notable exception to this pattern - AFAIK, that one came out of nowhere.) But even if she sticks to the pattern, that doesn't narrow down the choices as much as you might think, since she's posted clips of around 20 different songs so far this year. (!)

I had one of those DNA things done, and found out, shockingly, that I'm also Sri Lankan, Peruvian, Southern Han Province Chinese, and Japanese! It's amazing how people travel and spew their DNA all over the place! The more odd thing is that, although I'm a tall, blue-eyed European looking guy, at 4, I spoke much better Japanese than English!

Angelinas version is actually almost 30 seconds longer than Paul’s original. Someone posted on a fan site a picture of the RIAA Gold Single 45 RPM award given to Paul, the colors on the label, are those of the room.

Sorry it took so long to like and subscribe to your channel. Been watching you from your first reaction to Angelina but was never registered for You Tube. Finally bit the bullet and gave up my secret information to another big brother entity.
You have always impressed me with your astute observations and clear understanding of how music should work and who are the better at it. I know you were into Aurora before finding AJ and I also think Aurora’s songs are very unique and surreal sounding. Later you started reacting to Dimash who can hit notes only dogs can hear. Again he is unique and very special. My problem besides being over 70 is I can’t listen to more than 1 song from them at a time. Not just them but many others as well. I can listen to Angelina for hours watching reaction after reaction even to the same song. She can brighten my day and sooth my nights. Yes she sings a lot of classics from many long gone great performers but I enjoy most of the newer songs she covers making them understandable and adding warmth and emotion where others just hit every note invented.
Anyway thanks for doing a great job and if everyone sounded like Angelin it could very well be boring after a few years, or 10🙉

Bruce Cummings,I agree with you,Angelina has always been focused on the lyric,so sitting in a shopping trolley must mean, it looks like yesterday when she as a child, like children all over the world ,used these shopping trolleys to hide away from the world, in the safety of their parents or their grandparents ,pushing these trolleys around in the supermarkets.At least it can be a reasonable explanation.

I would love for her to do a cover of any Roy Orbison song. There are a couple of songs on Mickey Newbury's "Frisco Mabel Joy" album that would be perfect for her to revive, also.
Next is jazzy hip hop haha. How about some broadway classics. Loved this very stripped down version of one of the most covered songs ever. She was born unplugged. Adam, this has nothing to do with her record label. They have done her 2 originals (Million Miles & 7th Heaven), but she & her uncle/manager, Michael Astar, have put this together, along with the Billie Jean video. These colored rooms are at a studio in LA, she's using her own mic she got for her 12th Birthday, the piano track is a commercial karaoke track & Michael directed & edited the video. Two masterpieces on a minimal budget & all in the family. Although she's not mentioned in the credits, I bet grandma Mery had a hand in this, as well. Republic Records seem to be letting her do her thing on the side. Thanks Republic!!!

I agree with much of your comment, but dispute you statement that the piano is a karaoke track. Angelina’s version of Yesterday is nearly 30 seconds longer, so that would meaning tinkering with the speed of the backing track, which would not sound right. Like in her Adel cover, I think the backing track has been provided by Republic Records or some other pianist.
@@yves2932 Can't figure how you know that. Looks like the same Neumann 102 she used on earlier videos. Maybe she's upgraded to the 103, which doesn't have the chrome band like the 102, and costs about 50% more. She's not close enough for me to tell like she was in "Stay" etc., which obviously was a 102 with the chrome band. Or maybe it's the TLM 49, which costs more than twice as much as the 102, and is a little larger. Wish we could ask her. Maybe Rusty knows.

Wonderful reaction, Adam, and if you mix all these last records she made with all the Tiktok pieces she gives to us, I'm quite sure that all are recreations in the middle of "studies sessions" for her next album: she cannot stand without singing and she pleased us with such marvels.

The part that I loved the most was AJ sitting in the shopping cart! I mean, who came up with that idea? Of course Angelina was meant to sing this song. It is right up her alley. She sounded different in that the microphone or maybe other equipment that was used...It was awesome though. There are so many beautiful songs from "way back when" she could spend years singing them. I don't know whether to think of her as a "Nightengale" or a "torch singer".....probably both...she is so versatile. Great review with a good question, what or who is her next choice?

Nice react Adam. It was inevitable that Angelina would cover the greatest and easily most covered song of modern times. The original is so embedded in my brain that it took a few listens to stop hearing the 'errors'. Now I can appreciate what Angelina has done with it and agree it is another excellent performance.
Angelina is the only singer I can imagine who could do Karen Carpenter's "We've Only Just Begun" and Janice Joplin's "Bobby McGee" and knock both not just out of the park but into orbit.

Adam, she is so unique and her video's are constructed to transform her into the past . It's almost as if she's been there before. What is also so intriguing is the more you listen to the song, it gets better and better. That's usually the case with Angelina. Why? 'm not sure but I think it has something to do with how authentic she is.
Of course, there's no telling whether the next release from Angelina will be a cover or an original, but if it's a cover, there's a good chance it'll be a song we've heard her sing a bit of already, given that she released short clips of "All I Ask", "Heal the World", and "Yesterday" (the first 2 on Instagram and the last on TikTok) before she released the full covers of those. ("Billie Jean" is a notable exception to this pattern - AFAIK, that one came out of nowhere.) But even if she sticks to the pattern, that doesn't narrow down the choices as much as you might think, since she's posted clips of around 20 different songs so far this year. (!)

I understand that it's a little off topic, but although I don't speak any other language fluently then American anymore I love other languages and trying to decipher the different accents don't worry, I couldn't afford to come hunt you down even if I wanted to, but I'm just wondering where your beautiful accent is from. Pretty much every country has such beautiful Variety in the ways they speak. Some old disabled guy in California sends love! I had one of those DNA things done, and found out, shockingly, that I'm also Sri Lankan, Peruvian, Southern Han Province Chinese, and Japanese! It's amazing how people travel and spew their DNA all over the place! The more odd thing is that, although I'm a tall, blue-eyed European looking guy, at 4, I spoke much better Japanese than English!
@@AdamStraughan As a foreigner (Norwegian),I must say its very easy to understand your speaken english ,and your voice is very nice to listen to.Coming from the north east of England,and being so easy to understand is a bit unexpectable when to think it's not far from Scotland, where Alex Ferguson the old manager of Manchester United come from ,because he is nearly impossible to understand,and especial for a foreigner,but I have heard that he is nearly impossible to understand for english journalists too.
