I was wondering why it was knocking and i realized that the piston being outside of the cylinder and having him hlod it means that the piston would likely be held at an angle to the rod and the bottom of the skirt would touch the crankshaft counterweights. This would probably be ok if it was fixed into a cylinder.
@@IgnitionPexactly what you see in the vid. To see how it's shaking and vibrating? Add way more power and five more cylinders....and engine can tear itself apart without harmonic balancers/counter weights.

No its just the piston can't travel in a straight line and goes side to side a little which makes it touch the crank and knock. You can see in the beginning of the video it made a full circle without the piston touching the crank.
Before I knew anything about motors these videos were misleading for me. I used to think that the crankshaft makes the piston go up and down as shown here… when really it’s the explosions on the top of the heads timed perfectly to rotate the crank shaft

@@dimzyv lol it is small. It's from a hand held leaf blower. I quit smoking but my ashtray is a piston from a Cummings diesel, it's about 4 inch diameter and 6 pounds. I know what you mean 😆👍🤝

@Carly-lz7fo and that was only 2000 rpm. Some engines turn 6000 rpm and more. Motorcycles almost 10,000 rpm. It really is amazing.

The connecting rod is a little short, because of this the piston hits the crankshaft.
No its just the piston can't travel in a straight line and goes side to side a little which makes it touch the crank and knock.

Instead of the drill it would be combustion that pushes the piston down the cylinder bore.
