I don't mind having a fixed character, making the story about someone. I didn't like Cal Kestis until I started playing the games. But if they make a fixed character with a linear story, they should do it properly.

Fr even when an open-world game has a pretty likable, everyman main character, I kind of still wish there was a character creator... It just goes hand-in-hand with open-world games. The whole point of open world is doiong what you want, exploring where you want, forging your own path instead of a linear level by level thing. Having the character be _my_ character that I made adds so much to that sense of immersion. Tbh I don't think I've ever liked an open world game without a character creator except for RDR2

Have you heard of the old republic? (Not Knights of) Its an MMO but its very story based so it may not be what you're looking for.
A more ambitious Star Wars Galaxies that utilizes modern tech would be incredible.

I swear this game will feel just like any other ubisoft game. The movement and its mechanics are going to be almost identical to The Division or the Ghost recon series.

Ubisoft games typically get heavily discounted within the next year to two years after launch, including editions with dlc included. So i'd say if you DO want to play this game, just wait a while and get a better overall deal in the end. I'm a SW fan so obviously i have interest in this game, but it's Ubisoft we're talking about.
On the release day with Ubisoft you can get it for an insane deal if you pirate their games because f*** Ubisoft.

From what i read, the ones who worked on the Division also worked on this as well. So thats probably why
Massive made the world design for this and division. Talented crew. Too bad bout the character though. Have zero interest because of her. I never have liked playing females.

Problem is Star Wars is meant for kids and nerds who need to believe that good is good and bad is bad because it’s bad you know, can’t make a too profound story for people these days. It’s like when The Force Unleashed game made Galen Marek join the rebellion. For the love of god I prefered him being in his Sith Stalker armor but that was a DLC.
I also enjoyed Jedi Academy where it was possible to chose but in base game you could not get a red saber without mods.

If this game does well, I think it could lead to the create a character bounty hunter game that a lot of us have wanted forever. The way this game looks like it plays but with your own personal character and a wide array of gear and stuff would be incredible

Ubisoft is great at world building and designing words we want to live in/play in. But they really need to update their mechanics, quests, and shit like that every Ubi game has felt the same since Watchdogs/The Division.
I hope they learned their lesson from Jedi survivor and the game is actually playable at launch

"star wars 1313", so why the hell won't they uncanceled it and release it?
Disney bought Lucasfilm which owned LucasArts which was developing 1313. Disney never had plans for making the game itself and was looking to license other publishers to continue the star wars games LucasArts was making(possibly). But later they laid off the whole studio anyways. So the original team, which was the one most interested in making the game, was gone. They would go their own ways and end up in different places.
Thats the first thing they did, cancel 1313. I still hate disney for that. 1313 looked so good.
They need to re-release Shadows of the Empire using this engine

The outfit pre-orders should’ve been the ladies of star wars like Sabine Wren or based on the gangs.
This game could be fun. She looks half alien and half human. The ending could be absolutely phenomenal. Well, I’m not gonna preorder it to find out though. I’ll let others do it and wait till it’s a few months to get it cheaper if it’s half the worth. Or better yet, if it goes on PSPlus for free.

It all depends on how repetitive it is, verity of the missions etc and of course, how good or poorly it plays.

I’m a huge Star Wars fan but idk how I feel about this. Maybe it’s because I’m use to Jedi related games but I’m going to give it a chance. I enjoyed Battlefront 2. It had a good story.

Really wish they'd go the force unleashed route and focus on telling good entertaining stories that arnet canon rather than being restricted to being canon and limiting themselves in gameplay and story this looks so mid which sucks cuz companies will see it as a failure cuz it's single player rather than it just being mid in general
The only cool thing about this was ND5 it'd make sense for Commando Droids to be used after the Clone Wars since they're pretty good at infiltration and assassinations.

I have 3 feelings, 1) its something new to the star wars game genre, but more so 2) i think a few hours in im going to miss having badass powers and sick combat and 3) this should have a character creation in it. Just an opinion.

To be honest the visual fidelity, overall, is really good. And the sound design is also good.
However, I cannot shake off that "uncanny valley" due to stiff, muppet-style facial animations (and stiff expressions), along with some weird head movements on the human characters (not just the main one, but in this video that female Imperial as well, same problem). It looks like a very high visual fidelity game marred by Bethesda-level NPC faces, it's very distracting. But everything else does look pretty good.
