Good list however I don’t think you can argue the top 3 but you can argue the order. Jim Brown is the greatest running back ever. During his era when running the ball was the most important factor in the offense and no rules in place to protect players he never missed a game. The defense knew he was gonna get the ball and still couldn’t stop him. Not sure if it’s true or not but I’ve heard he never had any negative yards in the backfield meaning he was never tackled for a loss. What is true people forget in Brown’s first 7 years in the league it was only a 12 game season. The last 2 years a 14 game season. Now look at his stats. Absolutely phenomenal numbers. If he played today Jim would break the internet with the records he put up. The fact that Jim is the only running back with over 100 yards per game and 5 yards per carry for a career shows until the day he retired nobody was able to stop him. It’s like he never had a bad game. Also leading the league in rushing 8x is insane. The next closest runner is a tie between Emmitt, Simpson, Dickerson, Van Buren, and Sanders with 4. And finally Jim Brown has 3 MVPs. Every other running back in nfl history only has won MVP one time. AND he’s the only rookie ever to be named league MVP. So whether you’re talking about stats, dominance, athleticism, achievements/awards, or even impact on the game Jim Brown is the best to ever do it hands down. His career is about as close as you can get to being perfect in nfl history.
Yep, Earl was the Heisman winner from UT and was better than honorable mention. He dominated the NFL 4yrs straight. Otherwise, this is a good list and was fun to watch.

I think Jim Brown, and Gale Sayers should always be mentioned on any list, but I'd probably leave them off simply because I believe that the modern NFL started in 1970. I've been watching football for about 40 years now so I think it makes it easier to evaluate guys from the 80's and 90's. Off the top of my head right now my top ten would be; 1. Walter Payton 2. Bo Jackson 3. Ladanian Tomlinson 4. Barry Sanders 5. Eric Dickerson 6. Emmitt Smith 7. Marshall Faulk 8. Adrian Peterson 9. Earl Campbell 10. OJ Simpson
@@Supermanfan99 Bo shared a backfield with one of the greatest RB's of all time in Marcus Allen, who could easily be on this list. He also never had a training camp. He went from playing All star quality profession baseball over the spring, summer, and fall, straight to on the field in the NFL. Then when he got on the field he dominated it, pretty much like no player before him except maybe Jim Brown, and definitely no player after him. The only reason I have Walter ahead of him is because Walter did everything at the highest level and despite being somewhat small was as tough as any RB that has ever played. Bo's the greatest athlete I've ever seen in the NFL. If he would have played football only and never had that hip injury he'd be regarded as the greatest RB of all time, not just on Tecmo Bowl.

If you're talking production alone then Emmitt Smith would be the greatest RB of all time because nobody has even come close to the 30k rushing yards he's accumulated over his career. I only told you the things about Bo to put into perspective that comparing him to the others is not that easy based on the unique situation he had during his career. I watched him play his entire career. Nobody can compare to how dominant he was.
I played next to Anthony Munoz and he was the best ever. Before each game he would eat a big plate of refried beans and then shit on himself. His steaming logs would keep the defenders away and made him slippery.
I agree very much with this list…. Would you make a video ranking the best RB by category…. I mean this… best short yardage runner would be one category.. best long runs RB.. I just think that would be cool cause Marcus Allen was so great at short yardage runs. Erick Dickerson was a great runner on pitches (I know the game has changed a lot) and such.
Good list, except #1. Gayle Sanders was the best RB ever. He was a gazelle with panoramic vision. Terrell Davis NEVER got tired and was top 5. Both had short careers.
