LYRICS
As the innocent
Take the punishment
That was really meant
For every one of you
Claim immunity
From the misery
Bark your right to be
Wielding your weapons
Turned a blinded eye
As the children died
Lost within your lie
Evil defines you
How can you not grieve?
I cannot believe
What has come to be
The land reeks of madness
I can feel it growing inside me
Something that I would never dare speak
Containing the anguish depletes me
Unleashing the anger redeems me
Oh - the thoughts won't stop, I cannot breathe
Oh - the hardest part was to believe
It amuses me
That you fail to see
What has come to be
A paranoid nation
You cry "terrorist"
With a pounding fist
As your kind assists
Those who would end us
Your version of the truth
Will only benefit you
If you could only view
The dead all around us
You have brought it on
You're the guilty ones
Now we're running from
Our very extinction
this is personally one of my favorite albums.i dont see what the big deal is.
It's the same deal as The Crusade. Matt uses a little vocal influence from a different band ( even though the music doesn't sound like it instrumentally ) and people act like it all sounds the same as whatever band they're taking influence off of.
People are just stupid. Point blank. That's the big deal haha
Me neither
Would be interesting to see what he thinks 2 albums later. I considers TSATS to be one Trivium's best album's and WTDMS is a solid effort as well
@@jameslebron2403 honestly i like shogun the most rn. I got the latest album (what the dead men say i think) and what little ive heard is pretty good but my favorite for the past year has been shogun,i love the overall tone of it.
Same
I love the guitar intro too much. Sounds so emotional and nostalgic
Trivium for ever
I can definitely hear David Draiman's influence on Matt Heafy's vocals. I'm not a huge disturbed fan, but I also recognize Draiman as the excellent singer that he is. I think he did a great job coaching Heafy and the entire album sounds amazing.
This sounds nothing like Disturbed jfc.
Listen to My child - Disturbed
@@VicSellsPeace he said "influence" not "copy"
it's interesting how he *kinda sounds like Draiman here but sounds like Hetfield in Ignition
As someone who loves both bands, this is a win for me.
Severely underrated song and album!!
Yes
Get over Draiman!
Trivium is better than ever!
They have improved incredibly.
Ive been saying this for all songs, STFU AND START HEADBANGING.
Haters will hate, metalheads wil headbang.
The people saying this band sounds like disturbed are like the people who think they sound like Metallica they can't just enjoy music just chill and listen to trivium
Well, the singer of Disturbed did produce this whole album...so...yeah..
ditto
This autoplayed while i was in another tab and I was legitimately surprised it wasnt Draimans's voice when the singing started. It not a knock.
Most underrated song on the album! 🤘🏼
I guess I'm one of the few fans of Trivium that isn't whining his or her lungs out about this album.
You are not the only one dude it is stupid that people are just freaking whining about this album.
This album goes hard, dunno why people complain
@@quintonvenegas7783 People whine about everything, imho this is a great album
I like this album.
This album is great. Definitely progressed from In Waves
Underrated song. Masterpiece
Been following these guy for a decade now and I absolutely love this album. I really don't care that they toned down the screaming, or brought in the Draiman influence (I love Disturbed). The band is constantly evolving, they are not afraid of trying new things album to album to make each one unique. If you can't handle a band exploring a different direction and trying something else, maybe you shouldn't listen to them. I enjoy watching a band mature as a group over the years and seeing what new things they can come up with
and now, I think Silence in the Snow is other master piece of them. im fking in love with Trivium
took the words out of my mouth... or would it be fingers, since we're typing?
Did the lead singer from Disturbed help them with this album?
@@mcmahon6712 Yep, he produced the album and helped Matt increase his vocal range by at least 4 notes during the making of the album.
From sounding like Metallica to sounding like Disturbed, Trivium is the best band ever. Thank you Draiman for producing this awesome shit
Didn't know Draiman was producing until I checked after my first full listen of all ten tracks. I can DEFINITELY hear the vocal influence. Anyone who can't is deaf. Excellent track and a pretty damn good album though. It's music. Enjoy it.
"I can feel it growing inside me" - That's what she said.
That was way too wrong to ever be taken straightly ;D
I can’t stop thinking about that now each time the chorus kicks in. Thank you. :D
Huehue Huehuehue you beat me too it haha
That's what he said too.
I hate you. Now i can't unhere someone saying this
3:45 "The farts won't stop I cannot PEEEEE"
Hah
+MrJc9600 Damn you! ahahah
+Gui Ferreira "i can feel it growing inside me" ;)
I came up on this comment just as the part was playing... lmao
1:59 "You were farted on, You're the guilty one" lol
This song is beautiful.
Also, side note. I have no idea how people are hearing disturbed. Being an avid fan of disturbed and just starting on trivium(started with their new album), I hear almost 0 disturbed.
The vocal pattern is very much like that of the style David Draiman. But the instrumental tracks are indeed absolutely not like that of Disturbed.
BecomingMike I'd disagree. The way the vocals have changed is significant from their other albums. But standing alone only a few songs match any pattern disturbed has created. It's also very brief moments in their songs usually. I totally agree with the instrumental tracks, also the instrumentals in the songs that have vocal sound slightly like disturbed are much different from disturbed.
Personally, I don't hear it, but it is what it is. I'd rather not compare my new favorite band to another band lol.
I was solely talking about this song.
BecomingMike Okay, well in that case, I agree. But this song is still awesome lol. Guess it doesn't help that I'm not biased to like one over the other.
well i hear a little bit of vocal comparations but thats it, and something else there's a saying you can't compare an apple with a pear, wat i want to say is these 2 bands are 2 different genres, if you're comparing these 2 with eachother you're comparing the genres not the bands.
i didn't realize i had my headphones turned up max until i heard the first second of the intro lmao
CANAPÉ CANAPÉ !
Such an awesome song! Wonder what all the people complaining about this song sounding like disturbed would think if Disturbed didn't exist!
Best song on the album.
Easily.
where do you put Through Blood And Dirt And Bone?
=D
One of the best metal bands
If David Draiman had nothing to do with this album I bet none of y'all would be bitching about Disturbed...
And It would be a great album.. like In Waves.
People are always bitching about new albums.
People are always bitching about bitching (?)
Ramiro Ezequiel Let's bitch about everything! xD
Ramiro Ezequiel in waves is the worst album i have ever listened of them, after shogun everything is rubbish.
One of the best songs off of the album and of trivium in general
this song grew on me😁
This song aged well... relevant as ever.

Great Melody-Great Lyrics-Great Song.
In case anybody is wondering why they "hear Disturbed". David Draiman (singer from Disturbed) produced this album. He is heard in the backing vocals singing along with Matt. Matt's singing style "influence" on this album came directly from David Draiman while the songs were being written and recorded. There are obvious clues that he personally influenced song structure and instrumental rhythm as well.
finally a trivium song with hardly any screaming
I love how I can just hear the Disturbed in the song, badass.
its not badass it sucks considering disturbed are a fucking terrible band. I hate draiman for wrecking Trivium. Trivium are 100000x better and he just fucked with them. Draiman and Disturbed can go fuck themselves
TriviumAnterior And thats why they went TO him for guidance on this album... Yea, makes total sense you dump piece of shit. Disturbed is an awesome band and the fact that they have 3+ platinum records in a row just means that millions of others agree.
TriviumAnterior you fail at life lol
Aaron Stroup LOL, still makes disturbed a fucking shit band and u notice that this album is Triviums worst album fucktard
TriviumAnterior Lol says who? You? You're no one bro. Trivium is happy with it. The true fans such as me are happy with it. Just you and a few other haters are whining about it and can't back your shit up as to why. Like I said, you fail.
I Love Trivium. This is amazing. This album is awesome!
One of my favorite Trivium tracks. You can feel his angst toward baking.
I think that its a good album a true fan doesnt complain about if a album is bad or not
There's the fans of "trivium" and there's the fans of "trivium albums" fans of trivium albums are the ones complaining about this albums, in waves, or Crusade... and probably never heard Ember haha... The fans of Trivium listened to this album a few times and realized it's their best work to date...
CANNOT BREATHE, CANNOT BREATHE!!!!
*4:13* Nice, Nick went a little Travis right there.
That is not Nick that is Mat Madiro
@@markthedark595
Actually that is Nick Augusto. He left Trivium shortly after the release of this album. Though Mat M. was part of the video for Through blood and dirt and bone.

Putain le con !
Great Album, but that verse is so "Disturbed" its kinda funny. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love Trivium and this album, but you can see the influence.
yeah, i think it's Indestructible
You guys do realize they did write this album right after in waves, so it couldnt have had that much influence on Disturbed. Maybe on the vocals but on instrumentally
I like the album... but i LOVE this song!
This song is highly underrated
I thought people were exaggerating when they said this album had a distinct Disturbed ring to it, and you can DEFINITELY hear it in the vocals. Not saying it's a bad thing, just interesting to hear it. Fair play to Trivium for experimenting, it's what it's all about.
borderline The lead singer of disturbed David Draiman produced this album.
I hate everyone that says they've been trivium fans since ember to inferno and they hate this album. I have grown to love the new trivium sound. Dudes need to grow up
I really really love Trivium and I really like Disturbed and I cannot unsee the fact that this sounds a lot like Disturbed, is not a bad thing it's just the truth. I like them both so it doesn't bother me
Well, David Draiman of Disturbed recorded this album for them and gave Matt pointers on singing, so of course it's going to sound like them.
Yeah I know. I just say it because there's a lot of people here fighting about it. "It sounds like Disturbed" "No, it doesn't"... It does sound like Disturbed and No, is not bad
Love this song so much.
I fucking love this song and this band.
This song is so amazing. It is complex in subtle ways that most people won''t notice. Matt's lyrics in this song have got to be top 5 trivium lyrics in my opinion. It is quite obvious what he is talking about in the song. The first four verses pretty much says it all. He is talking about the newtown school shootings (and other school shootings recently), the failure of congress to do anything about it because of their own agendas, and the right wing conservatives' ideology about guns. He states "Claim immunity, from the misery, bark your right to be wielding your weapons. Turned a blinded eye, as the children died, lost within your lie, evil defines you". This whole song is him speaking to the issue and his hate towards those who were so concerned about their "gun rights" and what benefits them only rather than the country and these children. I couldn't agree more with heafy, "the hardest part was to believe".
Been listening to Disturbed all my life and their style is all too familiar to me. Started listening to Trivium two years ago and fell in love with their style, until this album. Carbon copy of Disturbed. Draiman's influence is undeniable, but that's a decision the band made and, tough shit.. I hope they do their own thing next time
Yeah .. Sounds A Little Like Disturbed! Okay It's Just An Idea! lml
everyone complains about how they sound like disturbed, david produced the album n helped out with matts vocals. at least trivium got some help and influence from another awesome band in my opinion
Despite sounding like a disturbed verse I love this song.
The best song from Vengeance Fall! \m/
Bet the Trivium fans aren't crying now
Damn right out of high school when this album dropped can't believe it almost been 5 years 😶
This is the only song from the album where I hear a little disturbed. Love the solo part though.
Am I the only one here that's a fan of both Disturbed and Trivium? I'll admit this is my first Trivium album, but I don't understand all the hate on Draiman. I mean his influence is pretty fucking strong, but that's not a terribly bad thing...
Awesome album :))))
Love this album very good how can u not like it?
It's probably because of David Draiman's participation but it's by far the best Trivium album ever according to my taste
Why soo much hate about how Draiman influenced the vocal patterns of this album? I mean most people will agree (I think) that Disturbed, and Draiman especially are one of the top metal bands of the past 10 years (backed by how many fans and sales they have). And while I get that people get upset when their favorite band changes their style. C'mon guys, name a band who had the same style for every album, and people actually liked that...The trick to being a band and releasing albums, is to constantly evolve. Yes, you may lose some fans on the way, but you will also gain new ones. And I would bet money that while David Draiman had a hand in the sound of this album, Trivium more than likely felt grateful to have such a veteran producing their album with them.
This is one of the few songs that I actually like from this album
I agree, especially before the last chorus in the song.
This songs verse has almost an identical vocal pattern to My Child by Disturbed, for those of you who don't hear Draiman in this song. However this is one of the only songs I strongly hear his influence in, Vengeance Falls is still a killer album.
You can certainly hear disturbed in this song
A melhor musica do album... pqp....
know im late to the fight but this particular song takes what I love what disturb does but adds their own twist and its so much better.
Trivium is So Much Better Than Disturbed Their Instrumental Sound Blows Up Those Amps To Shreds an Vocals Rule Heavy Metal Forever !!!!!!!!!

this song is awesome
this song make me move the head in a really strange way, thats why i love it *-*
TRIVIUM❕💙✨
this is AWESOME
I loved Crusade and still love it. I think this album is great, in my opinion and think it's a kind of throwback to that era of the band.
Jesus, all you people say that this sounds like Disturbed, or that there's Draiman's influence all over everything, and that the album might as well be released by Disturbed, ugh... Thank fucking God I listen to only 3-6 bands, because I'd be like OH, *'song name'* SOUNDS EXACTLY LIKE THE *'band name'*'s *'song name'*, all the fucking time. I know it's hard to 'unhear' something once you heard it, but please shut the fuck up, not everyone's listening to Disturbed, thus not everyone can spot the similarities, so don't ruin other's experience by saying OH THIS SOUNDS LIKE 'Wipe That Ass Hoe' BY 'DISTURBED', blah-blah-blah.
P.S. I fucking LOVE Vengeance Falls! I like it because it's fresh, new, unique, and sounds nothing like Trivium's previous albums.
See, the very fact that you listen only to 3-6 bands shows how little credibility your comment has. Any experienced musician WILL tell you that the vocals of this song do remind of Disturbed. The rhythm of the syllables, the key, the vocal harmonies...
This song is so different from the rest of album. The rythm has something special...
I got the conexion with this song, I fell in love. Lets bang
nope. We'll rock together! Cause this album is pretty good!
awesome album,metal never die!
YEEEAAAAH!
Really, really good !
Its pretty good and yes i heard the little disturbed parts.
good still have their music on here... need this 😆🌟
I don't hear Disturbed I just hear the shattered hopes of what the old Trivium COULD have become. :(
Trivium's style has been evolving with every album so deal with it. Maybe next album will suit you more. When I heard Brave this storm for the first time I was like "really, wtf Trivium?" But now I love this sound. Who the hell cares about the producer, I'm not big Disturbed fan but I don't hear their sound in this.
It's just as original and different as every other album they released. And that's how I like it. Trivium shouldn't be one of those bands that sound the same on every album.
somebody help my I want this song -- this music of trivium is very good .. I liked!!
AKA: Trivium covers an unreleased Disturbed B-side track.
Jesus 6 years later and you clowns still think thrash soundslike disturbed. Theres no helping idiocy of this calibur
@@V2ULTRAKill aww, I'm sorry, I didn't know facts were your trigger.
Disturbed this. Disturbed that. Even if you can hear Draiman's influence on Matt, why does that make it a bad thing? Disturbed is a great band and honestly, Draiman helped make Trivium even BETTER with his influence. Go ahead and hate me for saying that, it's the damn truth.
Lopt the Treacherous It's not a bad thing, it sounds good. I'll just add that if you didn't know this already. The influence you and others hear is because the singer from Disturbed (David Draiman) produced the album and provided his own backing vocals in these songs, and it's not unlikely that he directly influenced Matt to sing verses and choruses in David's singing style.
Amen
Disturbed is schieße and hasn't made anything even slightly listenable since The Sickness(Also fuck that GODDAMN ANNOYING PIECE OF SHIT Down With The Sickness). It's the same shit with exponentially worse music sound every cd. I don't want one of my favorite bands go fucking Disturbed on me. It's not a good sound!
It sounds nothing like Disturbed lol. They had nothing to do with this album as a band. Draiman gave some vocal training. woopty fuck. It's just a convenient excuse for people to hate on Trivium because it isn't Shogun or Ascendancy or w/e.
And just so were clear. I liked early Trivium far more than post Shogun. I just think the excuses people make for not liking an album are a bit moronic sometimes.
Didn't know that Draiman produced it and did backing vocals as well. Still pretty minor since the musician ship of the instruments is still done by the rest of the band. And it sounds nothing like Disturbed overall. I like both bands as well. But I don't understand these nonsense comments hating on this album or Disturbed.
I love this song, reminds me of Disturbed alot!
Trivium Forever.... lml
I like that song >.>
Hell yeaaaaah
fuck thank god someone's got an open mind around here. Every one of their albums has been genius; but people continue to be unable to get over the fact that they will NEVER produce two albums of the same style. Trivium is the most evolving band on my playlist and they hit every mark they set to reach, and they're one of the few remaining proper metal bands. fucking headbang cunts
Is anyone else reminded of Disturbed in some parts of this song?
The album was produced by Disturbed's vocalist...
Ok I kinda see why people are calling this disturbed, but I prefer this. Disturbed is very..monotonous
Świetna kompozycja
Easily the best song on the album
Buena pieza lml...!!!
One of my fav songs in erm lets say a more classic style of metal
cannot breathe!
Trivium :'3
Trivium has always changed their style on every album. If they suddenly did exactly what they did on another album, it would be boring as fuck. Just listen to this whole album a few times and you will start really appreciating it for what it is, unique.
Any time I think of listening to another band I just think to myself its not Trivium. Damn Trivium makes everything else sound boring!!!
I've listened to Disturbed since 2000, when The Sickness came out, and Trivium for maybe the past year or so, and I don't hear anything "Disturbed" about this song, or album. I kinda feel like people are just hearing what they want to hear, because they want something to complain about. Maybe it's just me...
I'm a massive Disturbed fan. And I feel like just cause Matt stretches some notes in his singing on this song he somehow sounds like Disturbed?
However nothing about the guitars or band sounds like Disturbed. And Matt's singing is really really good in this song.
I don't see the big deal anyway. Isn't Disturbed a REALLY good metal band? Why the hell are people so mad lol.
Can you guys not hear David Draiman's backing vocals? David Draiman produced this album maybe instrumentally you don't hear it, but vocally David directly influenced Matt in studio and his voice is actually on these songs.
