What is the measurement of the 1929 £1 PUC ?

Hi Rick. Sorry it's taken too long to get back to you. By my ruler the printed part of the 1929 £1 black measures 42.5mm x 36mm. There were a little over 66,000 of them printed, they were used for many years (the next £1 stamp didn't appear until 1948), my old boss Ken Sandford - who the firm is named after - remembered putting them in approval booklets in the late 1960's! It took a while before they were fully appreciated as possibly Britain's most beautiful stamp (with due respect to the Penny Black!)
