The beanie babies of stamp collecting…🤣🤣🤣
I think that is a fair assessment
I am not really a collector, but I have been getting some collection sets on eBay. I'm not looking for anything rare or valuable, but they àre nice. The Beanie Babies description makes sense, but doesn't hurt my feelings!
@fin59shaw collecting for joy is the best way to do it. I buy and keep many items of little to no monetary value because I see historical value. Glad you weren't offended
@@LevenParker Actually, there are a lot of really nice sets, like complete FDC for the birds and flowers, and other collections. Probably really cheap compared to buying them new, especially adjusted for inflation. Anyway, they also make great gifts, they look great, and it's hard to find any other interesting gifts for $20-$30. Mint sets are cool also, everyone likes something from their birth year, and very cheap!
@@fin59shaw I'm not saying they are not interesting or worthwhile. They are just of incredibly diminished monetary value like beanie babies. Beanie babies being cheap doesn't make them not cute
Great video
Wow, you are really knowledgeable and so good with assessing a collection! I hope some day I will have enough knowledge under my belt to know what I am seeing when looking at a collection. Thanks for the video, Leven!🙂
Thank you for that and I am sure you will get there!
commons sense goes a long way. You don't have to be a genius to conclude that "reproduction labels" on the back, will question the entire collection, and a stamp worth 1.000's of dollars, needs to have an official inspection report and need your own second check,... knowing that a lot of stamps with value are reproductions.... In our belgian catalogue, there is an indication-mark for every stamp when it is "often reproduced", so the red flags are already mentionned in the catalogue. When it's too good to be true, it is often not true.
@@TheBSideDJ you are absolutely correct that it is mostly common sense and experience
@@TheBSideDJ Common sense in this case also have acquired knowledge as a basis, like which stamps are of high value, whether true or fake. But you are right. Common sense goes a far way.
What auctions are great to send your valuable stamps?
@benjaminuruc2406 it depends on what you have. there are numerous auction houses with a myriad of strengths and I would need to know your collection before I could make a recommendation. Sorry
R you Buy AND sale stamp?
I do not sorry
