Here's one of my favorite guitarists of all time and I always was impressed by how Robert Plant seemingly intentionally parted ways with the signature Les Paul player to join up with who I consider one of the signature Fender Stratocaster players. His tone was immaculate.

Couldn't agree more. Robbie's playing was quite magical on those records. Tonally, it was great to hear clean, precise guitar sounds at a time when the gain and locking-vibrato scene was taking hold.
Very impressed that Plant took a brave approach in his early solo career. The sound is very much of its time but in a good way - a clean, shimmering 80s vibe but still powerful and moving.
I wish Robbie had made more records but it's nice to celebrate such a wonderful, inventive player. Thanks for this tribute to a player who deserves to be better known.

Thanks for your comments and very well stated. It was refreshing to hear clean adventurous playing amongst the speed distortion that was prominent at the time. Appreciate your insight.

Never liked Jimmy Page, he doesn't give off a good energy. Robbie Blunt is a nice guy and a good player. Hazel.
