HIGHLIGHTS | Arsenal vs Burnley (0-0) | Premier League

- We were held to a goalless draw by Burnley on a frustrating afternoon in N5.
Mikel Arteta was looking for a response from his side after our Carabao Cup semi-final defeat in midweek, but we found it tough going against an organised and disciplined Clarets team.
Aaron Ramsdale was the first of the two keepers to be called into action, making a smart save to turn away a Dwight McNeil cross that deflected towards goal, before Ben Mee hooked a shot from the resulting corner over the bar.
With the visitors getting men behind the ball in numbers, it was tough to find space to operate in the attacking third - and soon Alex Lacazette took matters into his own hand, beating two men and racing into the box, but he shot wide.
Our captain on the day came close again not long afterwards when a flowing move forward opened up the visitors, but Lacazette’s shot was saved by Nick Pope and his follow-up was blocked.
Kieran Tierney sent a shot over the bar as we continued to threaten, while Bukayo Saka curled a shot just wide right on the stroke of half time.
Burnley continued to frustrate us after the restart, and as the game moved past the hour mark, Martin Odegaard had come closest for us with a free kick that grazed the top of the bar.
Emile Smith Rowe was soon picked out by a well-worked corner, but his goalbound shot was saved by Nick Pope - and that chance got the crowd going as they sought to lift the team.
Suddenly new life had been brought into the game, and Smith Rowe’s energy was causing the Clarets all sorts of problems.
Our No 10 soon had another shot blocked, and then made a brilliant, lung-busting run up the left and into the box, only to see his cutback poked inches wide by Lacazette.
As the clock ticked down, frustrations grew as we struggled to find the breakthrough - although Gabriel tested Pope with a firm header from Gabriel Martinelli’s cross with five minutes remaining.
McNeil nearly snatched it for the visitors in stoppage time, shooting inches over at the end of a counter attack - but there was to be no late twist as we had to settle for a point.

Arsenal Football Club were formed in 1886 and amassed 13 League titles, 14 FA Cups. Some of their greatest players include: Thierry Henry, Dennis Bergkamp, Tony Adams, Ian Wright, Robert Pires, Liam Brady, Patrick Vieira, Cliff Bastin and Charlie George. - Спорт
Man the quick mind of Ødegaard, and the overall teamplay is lovely to watch. But this feels like the Özil days of the ball being played into the feet of someone that can't finish. Feels like Saka is our best finisher (At least from that angled position he finds himself in), and that says something about our current lineup.
Laca a miss some shot wah him fi deh score
Days like today are why we’ll miss out on Champions League football. We all know the quality is there even if we’re not the best team in terms of names, but the slip offs and inconsistency will kill us by the end of the season.
So no one is gonna talk about how basic and predictable arteta tactics are?
@@Pure100percentfacts_ shut up with the arteta blame
@@henryk7636 can't accept the truth?
Inconsistency always kills us, remember when we finished 5th with Unai
@@henryk7636 Unai finished 5th with Mustafi, Bellerin, Holding and Kolasinac. Don't forget we were amazing on offence Laca and Auba up front. Arteta only had problems with player and sent them out on loan. He never rated Martinelli and Smith Rowe. They got into the team because of injuries and they're now hard to replace. Wenger or Emery would have been doing better than Arteta with this squad. It's the tactics that keeps on failing whenever we have these kinds of performances.
Well done guys. You gunners show a lot of improvement in terms of chemistry and playing style. It's a shame we didn't get any goal for those well performance. Better luck next time! COYG!
Bro what are you high what playstyle did you see💀
@@Pure100percentfacts_ 0:25 you think you can play like this without a high chemistry among players? Are you sure you are not high?
@@atakraido bro that's how all teams play when they have the ball
@@Pure100percentfacts_ not with that free flowing build up short passing attacking-minded. It needs time and chemistry to achieve that understanding among players. The foundation is there. Be patient my friend. It's not like he had that much depth on the squad.
@@atakraido it ain't hard to pass a ball ma boy
I love what we are doing currently, the amount of energy, compassion and dedication players put on pitch it awesome
This game wasn't as poor as people make it seem, it wasn't just up to our expectation... Yea we could have done better but this kind of performance shows we have quality we ain't just at our destination yet
Bro, truly I do like your comment. Purely and naked truth. Arsenal game was better
Guess u were wrong huh mate hope u didn't bet
Really frustrated, was at the game today and expected the 3 points but hey ho onto the next game we move COYG 🔴🔴🔴
This is a must win game for the Gunners given the heated competition for 4th spot. With Man United winning and Spurs losing at Stanford Bridge, it was a must win game against a bottom table side, like Burnley. The lack of depth in the squad is clearly evident. Especially so, in the centre forward position where they only have Abameyang. Lacazette is only a link up striker like the former Dennis Bergkamp in the twilight of his career for the Gunners. Niketeh has been scoring at will during his loan spell last season with Newcastle. But at Arsenal, he seemed to have difficulty finding the net. They desperately need to sign a quality centre forward in the likes of Dusan, even if Mikel Areta is able to sort out Ambeyang's situation at the club. Coming back to the home game yesterday. It was extremely frustrating to witness their absolute dominance, yet without a single end product.
Haha, small club. U better support man city instead
We need a striker, and we cannot play sambi in a single pivot!!
Finally someone! Thank you! 💪
We need a new manager
@@Pure100percentfacts_ no we dont chill out
@@liftmedia1 obviously we do his tactics are so basic and predictable. All we did like every other game was toss long balls up the field and crosses in the box. We never tried working our way through the mid field. Arteta didn't even think of changing the tactics. Same boring boring arsenal
True, odegaard and esr are too offensive minded to play lower in midfield
Premier League referees are blind when it comes to Arsenal. This same foul will get Xhaka a red card but somehow for the rest of the league, the same rule dont apply. Enough is enough, FA needs to do something.
That was the most boring match I've ever watched
Is this their way of stopping us from qualifying for UCL?
Yeah exactly..
@Gust If they were spurs fan they would of given the goal to Kane in 40 mins. The FA are actually helping ManU, Trying to secure their spot in top 4 like last year with 14 pens and dumb magic performances.
Lacazette was not bad, ESR & Ødegaard were great, Saka's dribbling & footwork is 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Ramsdale's reflexes, commitment & dedication 🔥
To bad we didn't win
And you won hahaaahahah
@@CRMEDIA-yd7dp I'm just admiring the players, we really need a striker though

Finally there is a reason to watch Arsenal games. Good flow, hunger and player work rate great. We are in right direction. Rome was not built in a day.
looser mentality and your part pf the problem

Good performance from gunners ❤️🥰 keep going, never give up, just unlucky but We must take advantage of this opportunities very well, keep improving we just need a big striker from this transfer If we want to compete in the top four place.
The performance was so splendid. Just a fine tune on striking... But that was indeed an intriguing game
We cant even beat weakened Burnley at home and blows top 4 chance this season. Tbh, Im not surprised, we have seen lots of must-win games like this. Think we cant win PL for another next 20yrs.
Forget winning the epl, we might not even win top 4 in 20 years
Assnal
Honestly, arsenal need to sign some new strikers.
How bout son?
Vlahovic
Kinda glad I didn’t go today. Was annoyed at first but as the game went on I felt vindicated. Arsenal cause me so much stress man! 😔
Exactly, I couldn't sleep last night because of this result
It was just a bad day for Arsenal! Though no goal was scored by Arsenal, they played well enough to reinforce my confidence in the young players of the team, especially Saka and Ramsdale.
We can't constantly win games while depending on our young lads. Teams we are competing with have quality and experienced players and a super bench . While we only have a 1st 11 of young lads . Man we need additional of some quality players to assist the young lads. Someone like Saka needs to be rested , in my opinion I feel we are overworking him, was the most fouled and most marked cos Burney realized he's our main threat .he was tired yesterday but couldn't be subbed
1:50 summed up Arsenal's despair!
Honestly, I didn't get to see the game live but having watched the highlights now, this team has a huge potential to make the top 4. But players like Saka, ESR, Odegaard, Martinelli and the others need to step up and aim to get on the score sheet. Laca and Auba cannot always be relied upon for goals. Look at the top teams, the defenders could get goal and the game ends that way. The most important thing is to win matches. I don't know what Arteta always tells the lads but he needs to open up their minds to such philosophies.
For the past season now. And the one of last we have struggled to get the ball from our CB for the first station pass to dm or midfield. I see now why arteta wanted a Jorginho type player. White and magaelhes have too much possession in the wrong territorial space. And then we resort to long balls.
Lacazette, what a good play!
Better luck next time. Surely the boys gave their all😌🙏🏿
Ahhh Eassssy... We created enough to win, just didn't have that final touch. It's all good, Keep up the good 😃 work. Positive teamwork.
0 goals in four matches 😭 3 red cards….
Arteta is making a history for the team
Super club Arsenal Thank you Arteta
Lacazette has been excellent all season and everyone was worshiping the ground he walks on. Now he has one off game and now everyone is calling for his head🤣
He's never been clinical only his linkup ability kept him in the team
True,he is underrated
SO SAD 😭😭😭 but in all honesty, he needs to improve his shooting ability and convertion rate cos GOALS is the only winning tricks in football matches.
Woao! NOT A BAD PERFORMANCE, THE GOAL DID NOT JUST GOAL IN...
No one's showing up, not the midfield, not the strikers, not even the goddamn commentators!
Arteta's at the wheel, la la la la la la!
its just one of those game.
believe the process 🙏
Great second half Gunners. Disappointed we couldn't find that extra bit of quality for a finish, but I appreciated the hard work. 2022 is just not our year, but I'm sure our luck will turn.
"Great second half"😂 arteta got outclassed by a bottom table manager
More outlucked than outclassed
@@itsonlyentertainment2937 what arteta goes with the same tactics every game every manager probably knows how to play against him now
This is actually better without the commentators
Yep the crowd noise is surreal
Arthur Cabral for Laccazete
A.Issak for Aubameyang
Went to Friorentina so maybe Raul De Thomas instead of Arthur Cabral
Well played. 👏👏👏👏 COYG
We defo need a striker 😩
Meanwhile Edu hires a water boy to wash aubameyang's lambo twice a day
We need consistency and leadership player who commands the team.
We also need sharp striker who hit the net. Then, we can fight top 4.
Great game 👏 We were just unlucky
We lacked creativity in midfield some seasons ago but now that the creativity is there and chances are created, we fail to take those chances so IMO we should focus on someone else who is not Vlahovic since he doesn't want to be here and while we can't find that striker yet, pls Arteta bring Auba back into the squad cos having missed so many games, that hunger to score will be back in him
After we signed lacazette we never went to champions league. This guy was so average thats why french never called him
So sad we couldn't clinch up the 3 points as needed but was I the only one noticing Ramsdale loading the balls into the air anyhow? He did that all through the first halve of Liverpool game at the Emirates which totally affected our open play even without Mane and Salah. I think he needs to calm down and go back to why he quickly gat plenty Arsenal supporters in his Fan base. He did same thing yesterday even against Burnley who seems to a weaker team.
Nice Performance from the Keeper. Should this feedback be taken by the Team, I think we are doing fairly but we need much more efforts. Its a tight race and any slight mistake, we shall still see another bad season. The striking line is still not working perfect, a striker or two from the market will be a better thing
The players did nothing wrong the coaching tactics are just bad
Why is it that when Auba was starting week after week and not performing, Laca was giving some of his best games off the bench. Now that Laca is starting, he isn't looking like a threat anymore.
Even ESR was performing way better off the bench. Maybe that's our game. Shock attacks from the bench.
1:29 what a set piece man
1st half pace is too slow and too much holding the ball which make them able to position themselves to defend us. Should have played just like in the 2nd half but we really need a good and strong finisher to be in the top 4.
Daily reminder Robbie from AFTV gave Odegaard a 5/10 this game, he then gave Lokonga 6/10. Let that sink in for a moment. Fan channels are truly clueless it seems
Lacazette has done well. But in my opinion, he is not a pure striker. We need the striker we can rely on.
Loved the game tho we missed out points
Where were the Commentators , were they too disappointed and became speechless?
Buen partido del arsenal amo esos partidos
Lol 😂
Nice😊
Come on Arsenal
Let's go arsenal, go to liga champions 🔥
Hard to find any highlights in such a dull game.
No plan B. A reluctance to show fortitude and throw the youngsters on from
the bench at this rate we won't finish fourth because Arteta is not up
to the job.
Truth. He is a fraud manager.
They have to ease up on the power when taking a shot on goal. Try to be more precise and get it at least on target. And by on target, I don't mean straight to the keeper. The first goal Liverpool scored on Arsenal is a perfect example. Make the opposition keeper really earn his keep. Power shots that go wide or far over the goal just make his job a lot easier.
regardless of the match as a whole, the passage of play at 0:25 was very impressive
Can’t believe
They need to learn to be unpredictable;they take a lot of straight shots which gets blocked, let's see more of feint shot and co(awareness of incoming blocks) Sambi and co are so direct playing out from the back, like they are just so direct (perform repeated actions or passes, making opponent decipher their next move), if Arsenal FC wants to continue with this predictable or average players, there are so much things they are not teaching them(which they ought to know) .
Well played but needed good Finisher
Lacazette died 🤣🤣🤣🤣1:53
We struggle against teams who sit back,we are very slow and predictable, imagine when we face Wolverhampton next who are more strong than Bunley defensively and offensively
i keep watching highlights and always see odegard free for an easy shot yet our other players decide to shoot or dribble. Like the city game their were atleast 3 of them with martinelli having 2 of those chances
Why always asking for new players?
Why lacazette never improves?
It look liked I was watching some la liga match...very slow passing from us guys...wingers were not released early enough to hurt them...movement from the attacking players were also not that great to hurt Burnley.. Who were sitting comfortably to defend...
According to this game, I think we needed a morata kinda striker, ever upfront if not offside, those tap-ins men shouldn't just have passed by us
Belum beruntung, ayo terus semangat!!!
what in tarnation lads
Well...chelsea are in the top 4 but they had to settle for 1-1 draw as well...burnley may be bottom but they are no whipping boys like norwich...arsenal still hav deadwood to clear in the form of aubameyang, xhaka and mari but leds juz continue to hav faith in Arteta, at least we are in a much better built squad this season as compared to last...i believe he is trying his best to sign good strikers and midfielders but leds also not forget tat there are other clubs vying for their signature and we also want a good player who joins Arsenal to play for the club with commitment and heart, not motivated by riches but by belief that they see a long term future and glory for this club they are playing for....
Arteta is the deadwood
Come back stronger after the break !
COYG.
laca couldnt beleive he missed dat one.
they tried just unlucky but i think we need a striker who can be effective in the air
We will regret the three points that were lost, because at this stage, all the points are important inside and outside your stadium, with Manchester Tottenham and West Ham clashing for the fourth qualifying card for the Champions League.
Yara q mala suerte henos tenido csmr igual vamos arsenal toda la vida!!!
This team does not look like they want top 4
I LOVE GUNNERS❤❤❤
We must buy Striker and Midfielders!
That's what we need to get reach Top 4.
Auba wouldve had a hat trick with these passes
How come when he missed an open goal at Everton?
why there is no one talk about Arteta tactics ? this man plays with an obvious tactics to the opponent , when i see a counter attack for us i know each player next move or pass , it's really disappointing , i hope we can refresh the coaching stuff soon .
So unfortunate they lost this match, they were dominating the whole game and they just couldn’t score.

Perfect example of a real bad day.
All now i cannot believe we didn't win kmft
If no misses at all it would have been 6-1
It's always hard to play against 9 defender's for most of a match
Squads to small to get top 4 it may even struggle to get top 6 unless they bring a few in to help out. Top 8 finish yet again and the excuses to follow as to why Arteta and Edu has improved the club but still finished 8th!
If we dont sign a striker and mid this window imma die
Need a striker, and Sambi cannot be used as a single pivot.
Oh Jesus...
1:45 why are they hugging🙂
Don't worry guys. This may seem like a bad draw but its just one of those games where it wasn't meant to be.
Another bad day, COYG!
Spend money. Give us a Bergkampesque signing.
Painful. Painful. Painful!
Good buildup, but can't find the net!
We are so good at messing up
All is working fine but the final killer instinct is missing!
