Unfortunately it is not only PIA that collapsed, so many things went in the wrong direction in Pakistan in the last 30-40 years eg. Steel mill, exports and we took so much foreign loan that we now have to borrow more loan to pay existing loans. Hopefully, things will turn around soon for better. 🇵🇰
PIA would do well to shed its flab.
Sell the hotel. Get cash to solve your loan problem. For the stay of your crew, have arrangements with some hotels.
Instead of running airport, sell it to some other entity.
Why keep hospitals? Have a tie-up with good hospitals for the medical checkup of your crew.
Open sky cant be reversed now. Its tied to SIFC program to attract investment from Gulf. If PIA goes for protectionism, UAE would pull off rug from Karachi refinery
What I missed, is that how the loan bubble got so big? Whose incompetence was that? Of course, the airline was loosing money at that time as well, and hence went into plunge dive and kept on making loses
Rverbody learns from experience, especially mistakes
What lesson are common for other modes of transport like waterways, railways and roadways
Reason behind fall of any commercial institution is the blind corruption.
How well is the airlines oriented towards advancementsvin aircraft technoligy, oligospony in aircraft production?
My two cents on PIA - people like Abdullah Hafeez needs to be removed from PIA. Somebody who says no need to sell Roosevelt Hotel, doesnt know anything about airline business. Businesses are run on customer focus, how does Roosevelt Hotel serve PIA customer😂

I am proud and glad to mention that my Real Uncle - Abdur Rasheed Khan of Karachi started his career as Ground Engineering Staff, and I do have, even a photograph of him, standing near that ," Orient Airways " Aircraft. Later on, he remained stationed at London and Malta (in Mediterranean Sea), at the Technical Support Establishments of PIA.
