In my opinion, this song is a message to become aware of the invisible chains held by society which prevent us from being free; they offer us a kind of happiness that could never really satisfy us and they keep us from achieving happiness in our own way. It is not just about "the government controls us," we are all part of this distortion when we put our rose-colored glasses and pretend not to see, especially when we stop thinking with our own mind due to our laziness.
The bubble represents our field of view, the boundaries over which we do not dare to push, cause we only care about our own reality, we are emotionless to everything else, as if it didn't concern us. We let the fear build walls just because we are too afraid of the unknown. Do we want to live in a lonely utopia, or do we want to break down the walls to connect and inspire? We need to wake up to realize that our reality is actually much bigger than that because we are all connected as human beings. And as long as just only one person is not free, no one is really free.

I don't think people understand the song or the video. The song is about conformity and not being aware of what's around you. The hamster in the ball represents trying to move forward but not progressing, because he doesn't realize there's more surrounding him than the ball he's in (kinda like Plato's cavern). The hamster watching the other hamster is just eerie because he's not doing anything, just sitting there and watching someone else running but not reaching anything. He's even being fed, kinda like we are fed information and just swallow it without questioning it. Being chained to the rhythm means being chained to what's going on in the world, and not being able to break free from it. I think the song is amazing, and the video compliments it perfectly!

At first, I thought this was a party song cuz the title is "Chained to the Rhythm" and I was like, "Oh cool! We're like together like dancing to the same rhythm of the song" but the more you listen to it,the more you listen to the lyrics and think, "Damn, this is pretty deep!" Like maybe the hamster represents the people, and the hand that's cooking and feeding it is the information they want us to only know and we gobble it every time like mindless zombies without getting out of our comfort zone to cook the food ourselves (researching, etc.)
