Not reversed, that’s Ian reaching under the drum to strum and flick the snares. We always called this the “zipper beat” because it sounds like a zipper
@@RyanLottMusic How interesting to hear this. When Tomorrows I first came out, I tried to recreate that sound and got something very close by automating the diffusion on Valhalla Delay, bouncing the wet result, and layering it ahead in time of the dry track.
The depiction of a barely living middle aged man hunted by the childhood trauma of losing his father was masterfully done. The direction, the visuals, the music and Jongman Kim's performance is perfect. The 2:56 part... "I will not wait until im pulled below" hit me like a truck.
It’s not unfair to expect this from our kinds best creative minds. It’s what we all know is possible but hardly gets the light it deserves. Very great full to witness this
I have no idea who this is or how this got my algorithm. But thank you, UA-cam for showing me this. It's rare that a song can bring me to Goosebumps and tears like this.
Found you through Ren. You where nominated with him for best music video. Congratulations on your win. Very impressive video and beautiful song. Hopefully folks will feel like checking Ren as well.
Me too, checking out who beat our guy. I felt the cinematography was very good, but the story has me a bit confused. Maybe because I have never heard of this artist. Congratulations on your win.
@@JoaodeBastos-jc8ds He a UK artist that did Hi Ren in the award show you where nominated for. He from Brighton in Uk. His album that just came out us called Sickboi and got #1 on the Uk charts for the week it was released in October. He another fabulous artist to check out. I recommend you check out different songs by him. He done collaborations with Chinchilla like chalkoutlines. Other with artists like Bindi ( Crutch). Played in a bands like The Big Push. Hope you enjoy exploring the music. Have a lovely weekend.

This song can be interpreted depending on the listener, and yet so can be said about the video presented to the viewer. That in itself is a work of art.
You were in my recommended some day over a year ago, today I watched "Everything Everywhere All at Once" and like way in the beginning I hear this "whale noise" whatever you call it, and I instantly thought back to this song. I was so surprised that you made music for the movie. Congrats! love this song
I totally forgot about this song for the last 6 months. The moment I heard the beginning I instantly remembered it. Both the video and the song are so stunning
When I watched this the first time I had no idea what to expect and had to let the story of the music video marinate in my brain. On the second time I had full on tears running down my face.
Absolutely love this futuristic, distorted granular feel masterfully mixed with acoustic human touch...also great Cinematography too! amazing Son Lux. mad respect!
Ryan sings "please, remind me" in this amazing song. Ryan, you can be sure that after this beautiful piece of video art done by Alex Cook this song will move from "memorable" to "unforgettable". What a work. Thank you
Such a positive surprise to see this bit - after all, already some time since the release of the album - getting a clip. I spent many hours with this song during some of my darkest days. It helped me go through them, when all the people actually had failed to help. I might still haven't reminded myself who I really am - but glad to have this piece of music near. Thank you for your creation, thank you for sharing this with us.
Thank you so much for this! Your music is touching on another level and I'm so looking forward to see you guys next year in Hamburg! That track was exactly what I needed right now,.... unbelievable. Besides Sigur Rós you're the only ones to really catch my soul in sound. Much love!
The music is so so beautiful. With the video together it feels like a memory I've forgotten. Like having nostalgia for something from another life. Y'all have the ability to create such gorgeous experiences.💛💛💛 Lots of love💛💛💛💛
man this really got to me (no surprise). maybe it's because i'm feeling vulnerable right now, maybe son lux is just that powerful, probably both. but I broke down watching and listening to this. son lux always provides a much-needed release of emotion
I spent like 4 years looking for this artist. I am so glad I found them again! Fucking beautiful music. I want to use their songs in short films so bad.
@@NotChaix In my interpretation, the waters are the emotions, the character as a kid passes through a tough event and has to deal with emerging waters from the underground (here representing the unconscious), but he is stopped from doing so. As a grown up, the waters are still there, he needs to face them, they are getting more and more present in this moment of his life, but he's not aware of it. There comes a time when the emotions are so strong that it gains enough energy to haunt him. In the end, instead of running away, he faces it and deals with it. Another point is that it might be hereditary, his father died from running away from his emotions, and the character breaks the cycle, allowing his kid to no longer surfer from the lost of a parent. So yes, maybe depression can be the symptom of the unhealed trauma.

They really put their whole son lussy into this, love it
a serve
Not the son lussy 😂
This came out of goddamn nowhere but I'm SO here for it
NOT LIKE THIS
What
4:44 That re-re-reverse Snare! 😮 Damn! What an Experiment! 👌🏼
Yes, that snare ...

son lux makes me feel emotions that don't even exist in humans yet. absolutely killed it once again
I have unfair expectations for my entertainment nowadays, but Son Lux’s pieces are consistently novel and satisfying

The UA-cam algorithm randomly recommended me some of the best production I've ever heard
a masterpiece of visuals, music and general atmosphere! 👏🏻
Yes!
6:23 literally gave me chills
I've never heard this artist before. Somehow, I could tell from the thumbnail that this was going to be an incredible experience

The unsettling sensation followed by the release of the tension, it feels like you are watching a movie, gracias Son Lux.
I love how this whole thing forces me to look deeper into the whole thing, got me feeling like an English teacher reading Shakespeare.

I definitely thought Hi Ren was more deserving of the award for best music video. But congratulations on winning anyway.
That water, it seems like a tumor. Really meaningful video. It's impressed me a lot
This has so much the vibe of Netflix' Dark, doesn't it?
It does. I found good songs through them as well.
[Verse]
Count for me the cost
The number of tomorrows lost
Taken from the shore
Just waiting for the undertow
Stolen nice and slow
First the body, then the blame
And then the name
Sinking sand between my toes
I will not wait until I'm pulled below, oh, no
And nobody can see me
For who I will be
[Chorus]
So, please remind me
It's not too late
So, please remind me
Unbind me
It's not too late
So, please remind me
Come find me
If it's not too late
[Chorus]
Please remind me
Unbind me
It's not too late
So, please remind me
Come find me
If it's not too late
So, please remind me
If it's not too late
The freaky warm loving inviting yet sinister tone to this is screwing with me
Same!

I could say that son lux is our artist in this era like danvinci
his notes are always a work of art .
Reminds me of the show Dark on Netflix. Love it
I can't wait
Great music, story, and acting, wow.,
ok that's really good
thank you for that
this is astonishing and truly a beautiful form of what feels as nostalgic art
Somehow reminded me, not only visually, but also emotionally of the Annihilation movie 👏🏼
This video needs to be annihilated 😂. What trash
Looking forward to it!
wow wow wow wow wow
J'adore !
Yes.
it gave me the same feeling as the movie parasite directed by Bong Joon Ho
This is absolutely incredible
Yes! Incredibly bad 😂
Beautiful. Pure art in every way.
Wow, I'm still processing, but what a message!
could you please explain? I don't get it
Can you explain what the message is? Does it have anything to do with depression?
