Man, this video just shows how good of a pilot she is. It's the little things that show her precision. That was special.

You lucky dog!!! What a pleasure. I always have admired Ms. Wagstaff's piloting ability, but never knew how humble and gracious she is. It seems the better the pilot, the less macho. Her exceptional control on those rolls was the smoothest I have ever seen. Thanks so much for posting this.

I met her tonight at a museum event with the blue angels. She invited me to come fly with her at St.Augustine.She is honestly a great woman!Inspires us youth to pursue aviation.

“Don’t go easy on him” and then totally going easy on him seeing what the passenger is able to take, is a real good airmanship. I’ve seen plenty of pilots going hard on their friends just to impress, and guess what, they never fly aerobatics again as they had a horrible experience.

*Top medal winner for the US Aerobatic team, 1985-1996
*Six-time Betty Skelton "First Lady of Aerobatics" award winner (1988-1994)
*Top scoring US pilot at the 1996 World Aerobatics Championsip
*1997 inductee, Arizona Aviation Hall of Fame
*1997 inductee, International Women's Aviation Hall of Fame
*2004 inductee, National Aviation Hall of Fame
*2006 inductee, International Council of Airshows Foundation Hall of Fame

Josh, I was disappointed! Was looking for more maneuvers. I had my ride in an Extra 300LT also - from Rockledge airport, Fl. (21FA). Like you, I had an offer "for a ride" right after landing my little Experimental at the field.
My pilot (a friend of mine) was an experienced National Competitor and gave me a great 40 minute ride. Best maneuver we did was a Vertical Climb - doing a 4 point roll - running out of energy at the top - descended in an Inverted Flat Spin! Yes, it was fun. Hard to take "still pictures" in that maneuver!
Pulled 6.5 G's and I, at 73 years of age, did not lose consciousness - how about that! And, like you, never got sick.
We slipped hard on Final too - so the pilot could see the runway - very narrow @ 45 feet. Is 2,000 feet long. Great flight, eh! The 300LT is like a tank - + _ 10G's
    Thanks for posting. N-6395T

    • @mmichaeldonavon
      @mmichaeldonavon 8 років тому

I wasn't the pilot - his name is Travis Gier.
I had my little Experimental Amateur Built Plane at Rockledge, off and on, for 13 years. Tied down at Merritt Island (COI) for a year and half or better.
LOTS of student pilots at COI! Used to be from India - now, mainly South America, I think. They always came "out of nowhere! :) No idea of what they were saying on the Radio!. :) Was fun.
One of the instructor cadre, there at MI, training these kids was a retired USAF Pilot. He said he had flow everything in the inventory except the SR -71 and one other high performance plane. (can't remember which one) First name is Ken, you might know him.
I'm including a link to a plane that Travis and his Dad (Rod) built - you may have seen it. (WWI vintage) He sold it to a lady who gave it to her husband for his birthday. Travis said he delivered it to COI and watched the guy fly it. Travis said he thought the guy would crash, but recovered. Beautiful little Red Plane.
