I played morrowind when i was 11 and i didnt know PC games could be so good. That made the lil gamer thats inside us all peek his head out and say "lets fuckin go bro"
It was 2005 and previously the only pc games we had were for little kids. I think I played for a hundred hours before progressing the main quest past the dwemer puzzle box loool

Idk it feels, not better or more entertaining a but a different kind the joov sastifaction, sure i love seeing him say alright enough is enough and beinging an army to a gunfight but him beeing in his element excited about all the small stuff is great and maybe borderline wholeseome
In case anyone was wondering, the fleshlight received its patent in 1998. Morrowind was released 2002. So my follow up question would be is the fleshlight wormy guy enemy in Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall, because that one came out in 1996. I'm not sure how long Morrowind or the Fleshlight were in development, but I would still like to believe that one of them inspired the other.
Yep- was just trolling the comments to see haha. Could be a copyright thing potentially? Sometimes sections of videos get copyright claimed and the easiest way to fix that is mute that section of the video. Or it could’ve just glitched haha
Praise Dagoth Ur and the Sixth House unmourned for this day to witness the land of the Dark Elves, witness Nerevar on their journey and let's learn from their victories and losses. (Keep up the great work, Joov! Love these vods!) 😁💯
One thing I don't miss from Morrowind is the early game "combat", out of a hundred swings you hit like 5 times if you're lucky 😂 fun times.. amazing game..
I actually love it. I mean you'll hit like every other swing or so if you build your character properly. Like a Redguard Warrior with a Longblade you'll start with 50 in Longblades and be pretty reliable as you pick up a longblade from the Trading Post. But just that touch of RP that comes from the fact that so many build their character with like 5 in Shortblades and insists on using the iron dagger from the census office. You're not good at knife fighting as a character. Of course you aren't going to slash slash slash dead a random mudcrab like it was nothing. Because sometimes it shouldn't be like say, Fallout New Vegas where despite setting up your character as a good natured pacifist who never fired a shot a gun in their life... well they gave you a Varmint Rifle and even with 5 in Guns you're dead eyeing Geckos from 50m out. Though I recognize I'm in a very small minority for that.
The thing about leveling in Morrowind is that, contrary to Oblivion, you DON'T want to pick an unused skill for your main weapon. Due to miss chance, you really need it to be one of your major skills to have any chance at combat. For people used to Oblivion, this can be extremely difficult to even consider. But the thing is, Oblivion required such precise planning of level ups because, in addition to just outright removing a number of skills, they also removed minor skills altogether. Morrowind, on the other hand, has more than enough skills to basically end up maxed out even if you aren't taking perfect stats every single level. There are just more possible level ups in Morrowind, both for skill levels and character levels: the max in Oblivion is around 50, while for Morrowind it's closer to 80. All your other skills you can pick ones you're not planning to use much and try to control it as much as possible, but you really want your primary weapon as high as possible as early as possible.
Key advice, particularly for a new player. Most see streamers and such go for the min-max style "I started with 5 in longblades and will major in longblades" sort of thing even in Morrowind. And people trying the same thing find out combat doesn't seem to work and considers it broken/bad. The other thing to keep in mind, particularly for a new player, is just how many conditional temp bonuses are in the game. One of those big lessons of learning to Sujamma before a difficult fight, or how a Summoned Sword will not only give you a high level blade, but also increase your Longblades with it out. Buffing up before a fight is a lot more of a thing than Oblivion or Skyrim.
Hey Groovy Joovy, I got fun Morrowind challenge for ya. First, install a mod that unlocks NPC classes for your character, and the Character Gen Revamped mod to save you some time. Then using a series of randomizing tools, give yourself a random race, class, birthsign, and mission/quest. The challenge is to complete that quest without dying. If your character dies you have to reroll everything and try again. Since some of the random tasks can be easy, perhaps set a goal of getting like 5-10 of them successfully completed within a given time limit or something.
The dream mod Joov describes around the 10 minute mark really reminds me of the Crucible in Fable 2. The enemies aren't randomized but the time bonuses and the audience score really give you something to work towards! I think he'd like it for sure.
When Joov turned up the intro music, i got goosebumps. Such amazing music in this game! Also so cool to see him talk about the infinite dungeon mod, after the success of it recently!
1:05:51 Joov listen. I'm very drunk rn. But I hope you NEVER doubt an orc wearing jeans a leather coat ever again. Sure the jeans are up pretty high, he has to hide his V cut from the world or It would fall to pieces. I'm sure whatever drip you accumulate will be immaculate, but please never underestimate the power of an orc in denim and leather (did I spell denim right? What a weird word. Also love your vids and vods and hope to actually catch a stream some day, I know you dog have a dedicated schedule but can anyone explain how I can be notified when Joov goes live to the grovelling masses?)
Side note hand to hand is the quickest combat skill to raise because of how its damage is calculated. With it damaging fatigue first and the enemy has to be reduced to 0 fatigue and knocked down to deal damage to health meaning you get many more hits per combat resulting in exponential experience compared to the other skills just a longer time to kill. This also means if you focus speed you can run the enemy till they are at 0 and smack them once and they fall down.
Having tried Morrowind as a kid and hating it and then now having played it as an adult, i both love and appreciate just how laid back and relaxed Morrowind is compared to modern Bethesda titles.
Joov is an unbelievably extreme man of culture. Love the vods and vids but my internet or something always buffers too much when I join a stream. Keep up the great work, top five favorite content creators
I google weird shit so chat and Joov don't have to! The first commercially available fleshlight was created in 1998 a whole four years before Morrowind's release.
Morrowind was such a big part of my childhood, I remember being 11-12, and watching my parents play it, which resulted in me and my brother wanting to play it, and that's all it took for me to be on the Elderscrolls wagon ever since. Found out later that my dad actually owned both Daggerfall and Arena from even further back. We're officially a bunch of geeks lol
1:07:30 the use of "outfitter" in this context reminds me of when i lived in a big hunting/fishing state and would shop at "outfitter's warehouse". i think the term you're looking for is clothier or haberdasher.
Hey Joov, game suggestion for ya! Project Zomboid strikes me as an exceptionally Joovy game: highly-customizable sandbox with a great modding scene and lots of room to set your own goals or challenges.
I just want you to know, Joov, I talked about the kwama fleshlight joke with a friend because it was genuinely so funny to me, so she looked it up and apparently they came out 4 years before Morrowind did. So you're kinda not wrong 🤣
Ouch. I feel like the falmpalm and caps is a bit harsh given the word outfit exists, or that by the logic of clothier the seller of supplies should be supplier. Words are silly. (I like your sheep by the way :3)

I borrowed Morrowwind from a friend for a weekend for Xbox and didn't get far as a teenager. The story and lore and setting are fun but the accuracy system is dogshit that put me off of revisiting the game. Like I wish skyrim still had stats and skills tied to them like Morrowind and Oblivion. I love making stupid builds is Oblivion focused on running fast as fuck and jumping 30ft vertically. Even Oblivion lost a lot of cool stuff that Morrowind had like levetation and flight and spell variety.
