Once again... A week ago I discovered this piece, re-listened to it for several hours in a loop, and thought, “What a marvellous discovery, never heard of it!” - and then saw a UA-cam notification: “Someone +1’d your comment on: Wieniawski - Piano Concerto Op.20 (I)”. The comment was 2-3 years old.
Re-discovery at its best! Conclusion: the more we listen to rare Romantic music, the higher the chance that several years later, we shall discover our own comments to the recordings we thought we had never listened to!
I have this happen too! Sometimes I'll go to write a comment about a piece I've discovered, only to find to my surprise that I've already written one years before.
So well played, thought out and recorded - this Concerto is a real find.

Whoa! 😧😱
I will play this piece !
Music like this deserves more recognition and to be lived more !
Fortissimo on the keys. Beautiful passages marked by moments of anger, as with the final solo passage. Provides stress relief.
This is an amazing forgotten concerto of a forgotten neglected composer. I possess this concerto on the label Chant du Monde! This is brilliant music, romantic from beginning till the end!
8:06 is that an acknowledgment towards Beethoven's 5th PC? :D
This is such an amazing concerto. Leaves the listener very satisfied.
someday my prince will come...
Very grand! Happy New Year's from San Agustinillo!
thanks for posting, as always.
Musique agréable un zest introspective et que je ressens porteuse d'avenir
I liked this work a lot. Thanks for sharing.
Fantastic concerto!
Good God, such a masculine cadenza!

In the great Tradition.....BRAVO from San Agustinillo!
Superbe!!

@Drakonurion Josef was Henryk's younger bro (1837~1912)

i first thought the composer was Henri 0.0
this piece is enjoyable =D
I thought about Henryk, too, but then looked at his birth date and guessed that there was no way this Late Romantic style could arise in the pieces of the middle XIX century.
By the way, this concerto shares many similar traits with Pierné’s Piano Concerto!
Me too omg
Sounds like first theme from Maliszewski's 3 symphony
this ist Józef not Henryk :) and Wojciech Rajski not Vajski :)
