He is a very underperformed composer today but he used to be hugely popular. It's a shame that you only tent to see his shortish "show" pieces in concerts because he wrote such wonderfully diverse music that's now relatively unknown.
amazing as per usual! thanks for everything fyrexianoff! recently i came across your upload of Dušan Martinček"s Piano Sonata and I really loved it, but cannot find other of his works anywhere else :( could you please consider bring some more of his compositions, if possible?
He was English so his influences will have been a lot more western and European than If we was African-American... If you think that Brahms was kicking around at the same time it's no doubt that you can certainly hear his influence! I personally think there is a lot of Mendelssohn in there as well!
What an amazing gem! I have a feeling I'll be listening to this one for a while. Thank you for the upload!
Never knew of this man before, but this quintet is very rich in texture, and every movement is a gem! Thank you so much for this.

Really good Brahmsian stuff! Not the slightest hint of jazz or African rhythms. The composer was the “grandfather of diversity” in classical music!
