      @@LandRoverDrive First time seen the vlog about this idyllic place... what i love about it,is how disconnected it is from cities... which is the best way to refill your batteries,with untouched nature! Very envious of this stunning country of yours... Wish i could have the money to visit one day before i get too old to do so...

      @@tunes4life it’s definitely worth a trip or two. It’s really nice to get way from everything and just enjoy some time off from the day to day life. 😊 Why I love going overlanding and traveling in the first place. 👍😊

    What a trip! You can't beat uncles with boats :-)
    Although that said, We loved all the roll-on-roll-off ferries (even with the 8m Bobil!), especially as the payment was automatic with the 'toll' gadget. Loved the simple system, if you're on the grid in the carpark, you're on the ferry.

      Yeah, going along the coast and jumping on the ferries is definitely a great way to see Norway. And it’s nice to get out and stretch the legs now and again. 👍😊

    Such amazing views and what a place your relatives have! Good to see Norway is ok with wild camping too, we are hoping to do an overland trip one summer. The scenery up there is very like the west coast of Scotland only much bigger and far less people. Thanks for the great content.

      Thank you! :) You should definitely do the trip if you can, if the weather is good it is so very worth it. I have been told the NC500 is a good trip to take by my English friend Perry. I hope to do that sometime too. The driving restrictions is a bit more relaxed in Scotland as I've been told. In Norway it has to be designated car road for it to be legal to drive on. But with the views on those roads it does not really matter that much. :)

    What an amazing place to have a cabin there. Kinda jealous actually 😂

    • @LandRoverDrive
      @LandRoverDrive  2 роки тому +3

      Yeah, it’s ridiculous and the story behind it is great. 😊 Im definitely jealous too, this is not something that’s easy to come by with all the rules in Norway. But I’m glad we have the opportunity to go and visit them now and again. 😊

    I would never have thought that Norwegians did water sports .? Surely the water must be cold all year around, you have a great family 👍

    • @LandRoverDrive
      @LandRoverDrive  2 роки тому +3

      Hehe, surly got to be some Viking blood running through our veins. 😂 It’s cold this far north but with the adrenaline racing it was not to bad. 😊 But a 10 second swim is usually enough for anyone. 😁

      In the Oslo fjord (way, way South of Helgelandskysten) the water can get over 20 degrees C, I think the highest was 24!
      Something to to with the warming effects of the gulfstream... :-)

      If helgelandskysten is where you live it looks a very clean open place to live, I love the vlog you filmed with your friend driving up the mountain, that is what a land rover is for, when is the best time of the year to visit Norway .

    • @LandRoverDrive
      @LandRoverDrive  2 роки тому

      @Ray Bardufoss, that's really a cold area and I'm not jealous at all. :) I had to do the ice water swim as well doing mine final survival week in the military in the same winter camo cloths. Cold but glad I have done it so I know what it's like. Didn't eat for three days but you really get to know your self by the third day. :) I used to live up in Mo i Rana and we went out on the coastline all the time. If you see Ep1 you can see where we used to have a cabin. I would say late spring or in the fall is the best time, if your overlanding and free camping, due to the lack of migdes and that you get the amazing combination of snow on the tops and the green/colourful landscape. This was early July. There are videos on the channel from different times of the year so you could see how it looks in the different times. :)
