That's what I appreciate about Keanu. He has no problem giving up his coins to better the overall project he's in. He also did similar for the Matrix films.
the absolute DESTRUCTION of Charlize Theron is so insane in this movie, Ive never seen such a fall into insanity depicted this well in any media. and Al Pacino is the best devil ever. 12/10 under rated movie
Insomnia is another stellar Pacino movie where he's an obsessive detective chasing another acting legend while driven insane by no sleep from Alaska's lack of night. It's also Nolan's first blockbuster
Charlize Theron's performance was amazing, as always. Not being religious myself (anymore) I have a bit of a different perspective on Lucifer as a literary character. A very difficult character to portray well, but Pacino gives us one of the best versions, ever. He has that laid-back sense of not really giving a crap about any of the drama, because he doesn't. Knowledge is power, and the Devil knows almost everything. Pacino puts out that kind of energy every second he's on the screen.
Al Pacino is one of the best Satans in movie history….definitely in my top 5….favorite quotes: “I’M A FAN OF MAN!!!” “Look, but don’t touch…touch but don’t taste…taste but don’t swallow…”& “vanity: my favorite sin” 😈

This is the most fun I've ever seen Al Pacino have, and the best acting I've ever seen from Keanu and especially Charlise, who was pitch perfect! But, mostly, I love this move for the script.
Morgan Freeman will always be God to me, just like Al Pacino will always be the Devil. They played those roles so perfectly, that no one could ever hope to match up to their performances. When I think of the voice of God it's Morgan's calm, soothing voice and when I think of the voice of the Devil it's Pacino's charismatic, energetic, and tempting voice.
This was the first movie that made me realize just how short Al Pacino really is ~ and yet he still dominates the entire movie. Just one of the most charismatic actors of all time. I don't give a damn what you tempt me with, I'm not neglecting Charlize Theron after she's married me.... and that charming southern accent she adapted for this role just makes her even that much more endearing. Then to keep gaslighting her throughout the entire movie..... that's the real horror of this movie. I can deal with the demons, I can even face off against the devil...... but not a chance in hell I'm betraying the woman I love. Might as well put a dagger through my own heart.
70s Pacino is definitely my favorite Pacino ('Serpico,' '...And Justice For All,' and 'Scarecrow' are MUSTS), but 90s Pacino said "f*ck subtlety" and created a whole other iconic era for his career, playing larger than life characters with a level of intensity (some people would dismissively regard as "over the top") that most actors would shy away from, but that he embraced with every inch of his being. This film is 90s Pacino at his wildest 😂❤
3:07 defense attorneys are not a bad thing, their job is to keep the justice system honest. Not every defense attorney is like that. Their real job is to keep actual innocent people out of prison.
The next door neighbor's wife who was helping Maryann pick paint is played by the same actress who has played a medical examiner on Law and Order SVU for decades now.
Tamara Tunie, the gorgeous babe that gives Charlize's character the Mileena smile at 21:37, plays the Medical Examiner on a bunch of Law & Order: SVU episodes. This movie is all kinds of awesome.
Not only naturally beautiful, but aged very very well. *That* is more important. 20 years later and she just looks thicker, not so much “older.” Diane Lane is another that got better looking with age. Late wife was face model. I was 26, she 34 and we looked the same age in Dec 2003. We were so hot, we were regularly approached by swinging couples, 3 times in a 6 month period. We always said no but were flattered & stayed in their orbit loosely. I have few regrets with her as we gave it all when we were in our prime. 7/29/23 miss you!
This movie was so much more powerful than the respect it gets. So underrated. The filming... the scenes... the acting. In my opinion, it is one of Al Pacino's GREATEST roles.
This is one of those movies that, once watched and the plot is understood, you have to rewatch to fully appreciate the performance Pacino gives. Scent Of A Woman level acting.
This is one of my favorite movies. Loved that he hooked him again at the end! 😂 Tbh if he keeps trying I think one of the times will work. You should react to Constantine! Another Keanu movie with religious themes.

There's a version of this story without the supernatural. It's The Firm, starring Tom Cruise. Small town lawyer is attracted to the city by rich sophisticated law firm. A pretty wife (Jeanne Tripplehorn) is tempted by the boss. It's funny how closely the stories follow. I actually like The Firm more than this.
"Vanity, definitely my favorite sin." Fun Fact: Theatrical movie debut of Nikita Ager. That's Hot Fact: Charlize Theron thought long and hard about appearing fully nude in the film, having turned down Showgirls (1995) for precisely that reason. She finally agreed because she loved her character. Art Before Ego Fact: Keanu Reeves accepted a lower salary so the producers could pay Al Pacino's asking price. When Pacino later heard about this, he donated the same amount of his salary to charity. Subtle Storytelling Fact: Keanu Reeves's suit gets darker as the movie progresses. It starts as a light color and then goes through increasingly dark shades of gray. By the end of the movie, his suit is black. This is indicative of his character's decreasing morality throughout the movie. Boxing Enthusiast Fact: Lomax (Keanu Reeves) and Milton (Al Pacino) run into Don King at the bout. King was in attendance that night, because one of the fighters he promoted at the time, Oba Carr, fought on the undercard of the Roy Jones Jr.-Bryant Brannon bout. Carr lost a 12-round decision to WBA welterweight champion Ike Quartey. Location Location Fact: The outdoor patio in John Milton's (Al Pacino) office was actually on the 50th floor of a New York City building. The actual stage was eight feet away from the edge of the building. President Donald Trump's private residential multi-level apartment at Trump Tower was used as Alex Cullen's (Craig T. Nelson) home. Trump's landmark gold decor, and classic view of Central Park, provide a familiar New York City backdrop. Appearing on the WTF podcast, writer Tony Gilroy said: "We needed the ugliest, most garish, horrifying real estate developer apartment you could possible have and Trump threw his apartment at us."
10:26 That's Tamara Tunie. She's been in *a lot* of movies and TV shows. I loved her as Gulf War veteran, medical examiner and all around bad ass Dr. Melinda Warner on _Law & Order: Special Victims Units._ A couple of years ago, she played Whitney Houston's mom in the movie _Whitney Houston: I Wanna Dance with Somebody_ (2022).
Hang on a minute! Pacino's name in this is John Milton? As in the guy who wrote Paradise Lost? I think they even pull a quote from that. How did I JUST figure all this out? 🤦♀️
The movie that made me like Al Pacino was "Frankie & Johnny" it also made me love Debussy. Lots more excellent actors in that flick. One of my all time favorite. Rom-Com
Al Pacino must have had a blast in this role - his monologue near the end is awesome. He is so much fun to watch in this. And I just love Keanu. He is a beautiful person inside and out. Charlize was absolutely amazing in this as well.
I assume others have mentioned that the develepor's penthouse scene was filmed in Donald Trump's penthouse. The irony... or councidence --choose one-- is breathtaking... 🤣
I don’t know about that but Jeffery Jones is an actual child predator in real life. I don’t want to mention what happened to the little boy. You can WIKI it he’s a sick monster that should have got more time. Not probation.

Real Life Fact: The Devil's Advocate is a real position in the Catholic Church when they create saints. In the past the church was making too many saints, so they tried to vet the process and Advocatus Diaboli was born. Basically one side gives arguments in favor of making the person a saint and the opposing side, the Devil's Advocate, gives reasons against.

"He can rewind time." I think that was God. There's a sound cue at the start of the movie at that exact moment (it's overlaid with the toilet flushing.) The whole point is we are all under the test every day. Any number of things can tempt us and twist us. Even in just small ways. "It's you, you're a star!" Appealed to his ego, and got him on the wrong path again. Now Kevin will turn into a media sensation and get involved in money, drugs, and other women. What makes this movie so great to me is I think its probably the single best break down, boots on the ground, depiction of what sin is, how it works, and why we all have to be careful of it. On the religious side, it shows exactly why we have to stay close to Jesus Christ. For the non-religious it works as a great morality play about the fallibility of man. Temptation is powerful, subtle, and tricky. It is the Devil's domain. The movie does a great job of dialing the nob on the supernatural element as well. Things are very subtle in the beginning. That odd sound cue in the bathroom, the oddness of Milton's office and the water in the sky vibe of his tower... then the first case, with voodoo used to silence the other lawyer.... Until we are in full fever pitch with premonitions, nightmares, visions, and outright supernatural stuff going on. It hits you hard on that first time view, but rewatches let you pick up so many wonderful details. I love this movie. It's my favorite depiction of the Devil hands down. EOM, I know you got a patreon who no doubt have you loaded down with movies to watch, but I strongly suggest "A Simple Plan" from 1998. It is one of my favorite Hitchcock inspired movies... Sam Raimi, in between his Evil Dead-Darkman phase and his Spider Man phase. It's a great movie that gets almost no love at all.
I have watched many but this is your best episode Sir! A fantastic film but your reaction, realizations and insights were spot on. Definitely a benchmark on your channel. Kudos to who helps you with your channel, The pause break was so fitting and outstanding!!! Perfect episode
Fun watching you watch the movie! Glad you appreciate it. Pacino chewed the scenery like a champ. And the redhead plays Wonder Woman’s mother in the Justice League films.
Another "alternative looks at Christian themes" movie that I really like (though I guess many people don't) is Stigmata. Would love to see a reaction to that (and it has your girl from True Romance in it!)

Your Lannister remark cracked my wife and me up. Hilarious.
I have watched many but this is your best episode Sir! A fantastic film but your reaction, realizations and insights were spot on. Definitely a benchmark on your channel. Kudos to who helps you with your channel, The pause break was so fitting and outstanding!!! Perfect episode
4:20 I love J's reaction here. The audience was hit instantly with badness and it should be recognized.
If you run into a client with a murder room aesthetician and he introduces himself as "John Milton".... RUN
End of Days (1999) Arnold Schwarzenegger is a good one too
I haven't seen this in years. It's an excellent movie ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️Love the cast. I'm enjoying your reaction to this intense movie 👍🏽👍🏽
Vanity... please watch The exorcism of Emily Rose, The exorcist 3: Legion and The Omen 1 and 2... love your reactions, looove your babies 👏😘
All I wanna know is what part of FL was the accent Keanu was going for? 🤣
😂😂😂😂
Delroy Lindo been in everything man, he's among the greatest
Yup.
It wasn’t a dream. Since he shot himself the devil (his father) restarted again. He needs Kevin to have that baby
Fun watching you watch the movie! Glad you appreciate it. Pacino chewed the scenery like a champ. And the redhead plays Wonder Woman’s mother in the Justice League films.
“With what?” 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Another "alternative looks at Christian themes" movie that I really like (though I guess many people don't) is Stigmata. Would love to see a reaction to that (and it has your girl from True Romance in it!)
"He Never Died" starring Henry Rollins
" 31:18" 😅 "no baby we just gone getchu a padded room in the apartment" LMAO 😂 this guy is hilarious man 👏
