Using an Army of Followers to Fight Umbra in Oblivion

- This playthrough was done with no mods as well. Oblivion unlike Skyrim lets get as many followers as you want. so I did that and recorded the whole thing and then jumped umbra the hardest enemy. enjoy

I like the thought that the "You have too many followers" text isn't raising some technical issue, it's just an indictment from the devs to you as a player.

I laughed like crazy when that dude tried opening a locked door like a 100 times in a couple of seconds

Companions aren't really effected by difficulty. The damage multipliers only effect the Player Character's damage and the damage given by people attacking the PC. Which is why companions are very useful for max difficulty - especially summons. Great video BTW and the Adoring Fan respawns.
Interesting 🤔 did not know that. I always thought that leveled companions were the best though.

You should've talked to Umbra until she attacked you so Ulrich would help.
that would mean beginning the quest, idk why he didn't do that. he would have to be level 20 and maybe he wasn't there yet. but he beat so many quests, surely he was close

I still think the funniest way to kill Umbra is to use the paintbrush glitch to trap her in the room and just shoot her from the balcony
Reminds me of how I beat The Butcher in Diablo 1, I aggro'd him so that he would follow me, I walked into a room and closed the door behind me since enemies can't open doors and just shot him with a bow through the bars until he died. No matter what RPG you play, the bow is always OP

It's weird how every helm your character picks up coincidentally happens to be custom fitted for an exceptionally wide head. I guess except the knights of the nine helmet. It just fits... maybe his head is all squeezed together under there, nearly popping out through the seams.
It also seems like he must have recently been sunbathing for a prolonged period of time while wearing a long sleeve shirt but no pants (2:23). At least until a certain point in the video. Maybe he switched over to wearing only pants for a while after that and it got evened out.

this is how i play oblivion all the time, what you needed was a rally spell to make the scamps and adoring fan to fight for you, you can also use the dupe glitch to dupe bound armour/weapons, and that's weightless so it can be reverse pickpocked onto followers, then cast rally over a 10 metre area or something and they all fight for you

I did the reverse pickpocket with bound items on MOST of the SI toons 😂 its fun talking to a merchant wearing full daedric
theres a few quests that stand out where you can put your followers in great tactical positions and tell them to wait, like mythic dawn hq, or that sewer mission with baurus, or bruma oblivion gate, way more fun that way (for me)
i usually get all the followers before starting the main quest, uesp has a great page on followers and their stats
they all respawn too (or replaced by generic version) so if they die its no big deal
There's also the two mages guild apprentices but i think you need to be Archmage for that.

Great video, but you forgot umbacano and claude maric. One of the female mage apprentices is glitchy and allows you to have two of them follow you. I ran into every home in Anvil and punched and ran out drawing everyone to the town center and it was this massive battle.

Once you get to the point where you enter the house with him he can follow you, then you just leave and he's another immortal follower. Very useful

The everscamps won't really do anything, but if you cast command creature on them thell actually fight for you ,and there great for leveling skills

My mate did this for the battle of bruma, you should do the glitch to get weightless daedric armour as he swapped all the guards armour who fight the battle and it was mental. The daedra had no hope

I found umbra randomly and used that sword she drops on my oldest save file

LOL. I just created a mage and killed Umbra at 5th level with a combination of two touch spells. 1: Paralyzing Weakness which reduced resistance by 100 % for everything and paralyzed the enemy for 2 seconds. 2: Annihilation which was a mix of all forms of destruction spells with a base maxed spell of Drain Health. I forget how much damage it did when cast directly after the first spell, but suffice it to say that it killed just about anything I touched instantaneously. Suffice it to say I did not need followers.

Actually you can have a lot of followers in skyrim as well in the same way as in Oblivion. Just don't complete the quests where followers are involved
