That's EXACTLY what I was thinking. They are just playing catch with their own receivers...on their own field...with NO defenders...and doing it in shorts and T-Shirts...if they DON"T look like Superstars doing that...then something is seriously wrong. Pro Days mean NOTHING unless you show up Fat or Slow....Negatives might mean something...Positives mean nothing in my book...Pro Days probably mean more for guys who were NOT invited to Combine but have some legit abilities.

There have been so many quarterbacks that have suffered because of multiple coordinators. Baker Mayfield and Sam Darnold are prime examples of this. One thing I will say about Will Levis is he is intelligent. He made the all-American academic team with a 4.0 GPA. He did this while learning from four different coordinators. I believe Will Levis can succeed, because football will now be his main and only priority.

Make these pro days more interesting. Put a DB on the WR and have the QB throw into coverage, have someone chase the QB to see how a QB responds to pressure. All these pro days are highlight throws. See how a QB responds to pressures that how a lot of QBs don’t work out! You can watch college games all you want but not every QB can translate to the NFL so let’s make these pro days a little more competitive to get a evaluation

Yes also maybe even adding in moving targets like they used too at the pro bowl. Have the QBs throw into a net or hit a moving target. @@PickpocketJones yes they can be but someone always falls in love at these pro days at get a fear of missing out and trade Earth Wind and Fire for one of them, but sometimes they may not be good locker room guys either. Coaching does matter and situations but I always feel for these QBs who go 1 and 2 overall and so many just recently are no longer in the league or backups.

I think there's a plethora of guys with physical traits and "ability" but after seeing Brock Purdy at barely over 6' I think of players like Drew Brees who demonstrate mental processing speed that is untouched with enough ability to throw with great accuracy if not tremendous accuracy and those two should be the bare minimum to being drafted higher imho. You can't coach a faster brain (you can but that requires drive and work ethic and biological nurturing etc that goes way beyond the physical aspects). You can coach mechanics, review tape and scheme all day but if your guy can't find who's open (watch Warner's QB school vids) it won't mean much. Arm strength is impressive but seeing the field and finding the exploits on the d gets actual wins. My 2 cents.

He just makes it easier for WRs to catch it. A lot of Levis' throws his WR's were either having to stop or turn their body to catch it. What I will say about him is his ball placement seemed to almost improve when he was rolling out and throwing. I wonder if this is because he's not able to throw as hard while moving.

Pro days are to show players' ceilings, and Levis has a very high one. He'll have one of the two or three strongest arms in the NFL from day one, but it looks like he needs to work a bit more on his touch on shorter stuff, especially throwing to the left side. The impressive thing about him for me though is how he handled the worst season imaginable last year. His stud tailback gets suspended, he's breaking in a talented but very young new group of receivers, and half his o-line from the previous year were in the NFL instead of the SEC. Plus he had a new OC who, as it turned out, had a problem adapting logistically to calling plays in college versus the pros because of the technological differences in how plays are relayed from OC to QB. All this made Levis the most sacked man in the SEC, and he was hurt by the fifth game. He played the rest of the season in pain, other than two games counting the bowl, often as in immobile statue who couldn't evade pass rushers, so he got hit even more. But even with all the adversity, he kept the season from being a total loss and at least salvaged a winning record. Things go awry quite often in the NFL, and last year was just about the best OJT for that Levis could ever have received.
