Having been in the construction business for over 40 years, I've seen my share of both good and bad work. This is definitely one the best installs I've seen - good work guys.

Thank you so very much for the kind words. I can’t wait to show how much better they are today than they were 2 years ago (:

I have the American Standard 2 Stage 2 Compressor Heat Pump. This unit Sips Energy, Rarely use Electric Strip Heat, when it does its during defrost. The things I don’t like, it gets overwhelmed with ice during ice storms or in near freezing rain. It won’t defrost often enough in these conditions. And yes everything is working properly. The other thing, is during Summer operations. It will switch to the 4 Ton Compressor when the 2 Ton can’t keep up. House will cool, instead of staying in 4 Ton Mode, it will switch back to 2 Ton. Can’t keep up and switch to 4 Ton. Repeat endlessly till O.D. Temperature Changes. I think it should stay in 4 Ton till satisfied. I’ve written to American Standard / Trane, for updated programming on the Communicator Thermostat to solve this, and nothing. I have over 40 years in HVAC, have my Master’s License, now retired.

Thanks for the comment bro ! I don’t have a ton of experience with the two compressor options but I do know you may be able to lock out certain modes of operation when certain conditions are present. It does sound like the system is operating well for you. Makes me happy (:

I also had a 2 stage Amer. Std. installed early 2020 but the front panel @ 4:41 (dark colored panel) on my unit doesn't have slots it's a solid panel just wondering why it's different? Also, I like that you have installed an accessible boot for the drain line, no one else does that.

The furnace you have is most likely and AUD model. This furnace was a S8X1 model. If I had to guess that would be why . Thanks for the compliment and comment. I cant wait to show the world how we do them today! They are LEAGUES above what we were doing even 2 years ago.

Great video . Thank you . Did you have to upgrade any ducting since it’s two stage furnace and condenser

I have a question I hope someone can answer. I'm having a two stage American Standard system installed. It's not a heat pump. How many wires are connected to the contactor in the condensing unit? Are there only two like a single stage or does the contactor need additional wires? Thanks.
