    Hi Alek you have the whole process down Pat!!! That’s so awesome. Diesel here in Kaliforniastan is still $5.39 a gallon, and we don’t see going down much, due to political ideology. This method is much more involved than running black diesel but it looks to be much better quality. Thank you so much for sharing. God bless you and the family. Have a merry Christmas.

      Thanks a lot for your comment, and yes it is a bit too complex, but it is a base oil recovery, the resulting fluid can be used for lubricants production if laced with proper additives, but as a diesel replacement the silica step can be avoided.
      Also it is not about the initial cost of the diesel fuel replacement. I am gaining some knowledge and experience in this field in case there is no fuel available at all at any price.
      God bless you too.

    I appreciate your work man. I would like to know the temperature you heated it up to or what’s the best temperature to use in distillation of waste motor oil for both diesel and base oil. Thank you. And can you use earth clay after the silica gel or it’s not needed? Can this oil run on diesel cars without any problems?

    • @santeryi9
      @santeryi9  11 місяців тому

      The best temperature for oil distillation is 410c , for final drying 60c and if treated correctly can be used in any diesel vehicle.

      Hi, if you are interested in further cleaning of a distilled oil, then you can either clean it with a mix of sodium hydroxide and methyl alcohol, or settle it over a silica gel.

    What additives can be used to make the oil more thick? Also where to get those additives? Would store bought additives for cars work? Like Liqui moly

    • @santeryi9
      @santeryi9  Рік тому +1

      You need to do your homework. Everything depends on the type of lubricant planned for production. In most cases, the additives include metal oxides, lithium, calcium, sodium, molybdenum, along with foam suppressors and solvents. To create a lubricant, one must obtain a production standard document outlining all the additives, their required proportions, as well as specifications for final viscosity, flash point, freeze point, and lubricating properties, including the relevant test methods. Therefore, your lubricant must align with a specific standard.

    hello, thank you for your awesome job. I'm from France, i live in an old truck from the 80's (Saviem SG2) and i love diy stuff (also because i'm poor lol).
    When i have time (and money), i will buy your wmo continuous distillation plan.
    However i have a question : With my old truck i run directly with wmo, just filtered at 5 microns, with a 30 plates exchanger with the cooling liquid of the engine to warm up the oil.
    Works good with a "little" black smoke. But i wonder, can i remove the odors a little by some sort of process, without centrifuge and distillation ?
    Will your ethoxide cleaning method works a little on just filtered wmo ?
    I really don"t need a clean transparent fuel, but if i can be less odorant it could be great.
    Again, thank you, i love your videos!
    Happy new year!

    • @thelistener7033
      @thelistener7033 Рік тому

      in your opinion, what makes the most "negative" odor when running on wmo ? sulfur ? and what the methylated spirit is for ? thank you

    • @santeryi9
      @santeryi9  Рік тому +1

      any used unprocessed oil has a lot of additives in it, and those additives make oil stable, also stable to any sort of deodorizing and cleaning. so the ethoxide method will not clean a straight engine oil.
      There are some other methods that are designed to remove free carbon sediments from used oil, but they also include centrifuge, and alkali solutions.

    • @thelistener7033
      @thelistener7033 Рік тому

      @@santeryi9 okay thx for your answer. So with a centrifuge, and alkali solutions (by alkali solutions you mean sulfuric acid etc ?) i can make my dirty oil cleaner ?

    Hello, my friend, I was wondering if using reagent grade sodium hydroxide made any difference at all?

    • @santeryi9
      @santeryi9  Рік тому +2

      Hello, my friend, the reagent grade has no neutral filler addred (This one contains only 500g of hydroxide per kg of product) so it contains about 50% of lime or chalk, so the final result is haisy, cloudy and require centrifuge.
      The reagent grade will do transparent oil with no floating particles.
