I disdcovered John Zorn by chance, and in a sense he is exactly like my other musical art hero, The Colonel Bruce Hampton. This man is truly an artist in the deepest sense of the word, a non compromised, incredible composer who takes no prisoners but doesn´t care to take any possible risk in terms of innovation and style. The real trail blazer of music, the real deal. His work should be shown in every school, every museum, university.... everywhere. And I´m completely sure that the world would be a much better place to be. Keep doing what you do John Zorn. You will keep making an extremely happy one this dude from West Spain.
I know Zorn is usually opposed to these interview scenarios, which of course means when they can get him to sit down and talk it's nothing short of awesome.

Living legend and my "quiet" hero.
John Zorn is a national Treasure for Artists of any kind. So inspiring.
glad to see he still insists on wearing camo pants
Interesting, thanks - I'm a big fan of Zorn!
Zorn is a true master, love this.
"Imagination, craft, honesty, and catharsis" is a great checklist for art in general.
Fantastic interview. Thank you for sharing it.
This is a great composer with the rare ability to connect emotionally, effectively and meaningfully with other human beings.
Humble, smart, talentend and so funny!!
Zorn is a genius...
Nice to see him mention Artaud and Van Gogh as examples of people who were too future for their time and paid a high psychic price.
