Philadelphia. I know they did Pittsburgh, but it was meh just like it is in real life. If not Philly, it'd be cool to go to Florida and see how that goes.
Remember that the Obsidian that made Fallout New Vegas is not the same Obsidian we have today. The majority of the old staff that did NV do not work for Obsidian anymore.
If you want a game made by a lot of people who worked on F:NV, you need to play Pillars of Eternity/POE2, those games even had some of the same writers, before quite a few left in 2019. They were the last true "black isle" team games.
The idea of bathesda churning out games makes me worry, especially after fallout 4, New Vegas, the elderscrolls 3, 4, 5 and fallout 76..... Bathesda is out of touch with their customers..
I'm kinda pissed since I'm on PlayStation. They abandoned a decent chunk of their fans by going exclusive AFTER people got a chance to enjoy their games. Really sucks.
I couldn't get into fallout 1 back in the day. But I fell in love with the franchise in fallout. 3. Loved New Vegas. And love fallout 4. Lots of people cut that down but I don't understand. It's freaking phenomenal. Anyway, at 53 I don't want to have to wait another 8 years to be able to play fallout 5! Microsoft has the resources, probably just up to Todd Howard and Bethesda whether or not they're willing to let it go at least for a bit. But it sure would be nice to set up a cycle where it's like every 3 years is a new fallout, starfield, and elder scrolls.
They spread themselves too thinly to be able to churn out just Elder Scrolls and Fallout games on a regular basis, besides they (Todd) were bored of having two much-loved and award-winning properties, so they went off to make '76 instead . I don't want to wait 8 years either as I am not far behind your age. 8 years is a long time to wait, especially after a heart attack.
Try out Fallout 76 and see all the content updates for it and stay away from the haters because they are full of it. Is it on par with 3 or 4 maybe or maybe not up to each other on that one but it offers a lot of new story and stuff to do and see and has a far healthier player base on console then most give it credit for :)
Fallout 4 wasn't an RPG, it was a story-driven shooter with greatly simplified RPG mechanics. I'm fine with that - like you, I'm totally unable to get into Fallout 1 & 2. I'm 62 and I have thousands or hours into Fallout 4. but zero hope for ever playing Fallout 5. I've never really enjoyed any Bethesda game until it's heavily modded - Fallout New Vegas was the closest, having an excellent story, but was completely unplayable for me, running far less than 60 seconds before crashing. So I had to wait until modders fixed it for multicore CPUs to play it. Fallout 4 worked out of the box, but I'm not fond of Bethesda's "Run up to an enemy, empty your magazine into its face at point blank range, have it empty its magazine into your face while you reload, and repeat until someone dies" gameplay. So I played Fallout 4 for a few days, then set it aside to be restarted after the modders fixed its design issues. But hey, at least it ran for hours without crashing.
the reasons for Fallout fans disliking F4 are: weak story, no choices, laughable dialogues no branching story, dumbing down mechanics and turning proper crpg into shooter with skills.
I was hesitant to try Fallout 76 but found it surprisingly immersive and fun. The multiplayer experience is actually quite well done. NPCs are back and feel the same as in F4. Don't let the bad hype stop you. It's a completely different game now
I quite enjoy F76 as well, and some of my memories of exploring are indistinguishable from Fallout 4 memories.. but it's still a pretty shallow game in the end. Also fun fact, as a level 1, all the high level players give you tons of stuff. Maybe it's because I made my character a sexy woman, but seriously people giving me thousands of caps, tons of ammo, hundreds of stimpacks, thousands of water. Seriously just travel to someone's camp and wave at them and they give you shit. I would literally go from camp to camp doing this lmao
Yeah, I'm kinda sad I put off playing it at launch, just to try it before the NPCs - but it is a very good game now. Great world, great quests, great community. Don't let the haters hold you back
The best thing about the Creation Engine is the modding support. A Fallout game on Unreal Engine 5 most likely won't be as easy to mod or will severely limit the modding. And it's that modding that has kept Fallout 3 thru 4 and the Elder Scrolls games still relevant years to decades after they came out.
this, which is why i don't get people who demand a new engine from bethesda. they don't realize what they're talking about, probably thinking it's like a new coat of paint only, and not a very likely permanent goodbye to mods and other community content. the creation engine is so easy to mod with even i could learn to use it and make small mods.
This is wrong, they have a very robust mod system that was developed for UE5. Check out robo recall on vr if you want a hands on example of how it would work.
Only reason todd howard is hogging the fallout ip is because he knows he will get showed up. Todd made fallout 4 into a settlement building looter shooter...he is lost on how to make a true rpg
I thought NoClip covered this. They have separated their team leads and they are leading development on Elders Scroll and Fallout using their different offices to develop them.
I think New York got nuked straight into the ground (more so than D.C.) and that its now just a giant wasteland of radiation ...but I could be misremembering.
Does anyone else feel like that "Elder Scrolls 6" trailer was just one of the automatically generated planets in starfield? Or that during exploring these planets we might come across one planet that has or hints towards elder scrolls, one that has or hints towards fallout etc? Just something that crossed my mind. Great video as always colt! Really hope we get new fallout soon 🤝
Cannot work Lore wise The planet of Elder Scrolls, and it’s moons are part of the god realm and all kinds of magical related lore They live in a pocket dimension, so there is no space per say in Elder scrolls, it’s all extension of other gods (moons, constellations, and planets) As far as I can tell, per usual, we might get references, but nothing like “they are in the same universe” type deal
BGS has too many IP's for the size it is. They either need to grow their staff significantly to be able to release all their IP's within a 5-6 year window (or less) of each other or let other studios work/collaborate on one or two of them.
Imagine having a roll where we go from Starfield to Avowed to Fallout 5 to Fable to The Outer Worlds 2 then ES6 or something like that general order. Should be a good generation. I'd love to read that 1 pager on Fallout 5. I hope they do shake it up a bit.
@@RPGDronei clearly remember wandering up out of the riverbed of the Colorado through a watery cave finding journal pages scattered from an NCR camp that seems to have been distributed across these caves and cliffs I remember the crunch of the jalapeño I found growing there as this area seems to have escaped the radiation and has some green grass even I feel refreshed as I push on to investigate imagining what it must be like to be starving and thirsty in the radioactive desert and to eat a fresh jalapeño
I personally enjoyed New Vegas better. It showcases human nature better than the previous title. NV simply felt more real. The factions are interesting because a lot of the characters behind them are well written. I find the BoS annoying only because they seem like a cheap copy paste from elder scrolls thrown into a different game. They're basically not good writing. A steampunk faction would have been more interesting instead. Definitely a more original idea. I loved the concept of the institute and the synths in FO4, but the writing left much to be desired. The fight with the courser was also disappointing. It should have seemed like fighting the terminator. The player would have needed to use tech and help to build a specialized weapon to kill the courser with. You can literally time a grenade throw and a VATS shot with a fully upgraded laser musket to one shot the courser, kinda lame because it's too easy lol.
NV was my favorite but Obsidian made outer worlds and it wasn’t my favorite. I didn’t even finish it, I wonder if they’d be able to make a modern fallout game..
After Outer World i have no confidence that Obsidian alone can pull the next fallout of. This has to be a collaborative effort on both Obsidian and Bethesda's part with Bethesda focusing more on the game's world and gameplay while Obsidian will focus more on story telling and quests.
One of the main reasons Fallout takes years is the fact it doesnt have a retainer value for the publisher. Meaning once a copy is sold they dont really make any more money on the franchise except of course the 3/4 dlc packs they release. Whereas a game like cod(
@@novidsinthischannel In case you didn't hear, Obsidian had a veritable history of releasing broken, unfinished games even on IPs they owned and could take as long as they wanted with them. They also agreed to said timetable when they agreed to make the game, and they didn't even have to make it from the ground up, they just had to slap new content onto an existing engine and system, which should theoretically cut dev time significantly but of course, again, they were pretty famous for almost never managing to finish anything, ever.
@@ashleyneku5432 Somebody's got a hate boner for Obsidian. If you think 18 months is enough time to "slap on" a new 3d open world, and fill it with new characters, voice-acted dialog, storylines, quests, etc, then I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess you've got no idea what game development is like. Had Obsidian turned down this rush job, (and this applies to other rush jobs in their history like Kotor2) somebody else would've taken it, and it would've came out unpolished. Why? Because it's a rush job that a publisher farmed to an outside developer. The fault lies with the publisher for demanding a rush job from outsiders. On a side not: about saying "they agreed to the job conditions" to shift blame away from a crappy employer (in this case: publisher) onto the employee, (dev team) that kind thinking reeks of privilege.
I have a ton of hours into 76 as well as other Fallout games. I honestly might not have stuck with 76 as at first playing solo I was getting tired of it, but I met another player randomly and got into a group chat with some other players. Through that I have met other players all over the world that I got to be friends with and play 76 with regularly. The game as everyone that stuck with it knows did improve dramatically over time. I would say though that being able to play with other fans of the franchise and help each other out, trade tips and ways to do things, work on end game stuff and boss fights together, etc is what makes the game last for me. Helping out newer players with learning how to do stuff in the game has made a lot of players stick with the game that would have normally gave up and left. Is the game perfect? No Do things in the game and decisions Bethesda makes annoy the hell out of me at times? Yes. But I have had a lot of fun playing 76 and the multiplayer aspect is what makes the game what it is to me. It makes it more fun and certain tasks attainable for more players. Even visiting and checking out other players camps and seeing what they have created is cool. That is what keeps me playing 76 and makes it a game I have more hours in than probably any other game I have played. I met a family that 3 generations play together. Grandfather, Son/Father, Grandson. I just hope they either do more additions and improvements to 76 or create a new game that has similar multiplayer aspects and is even better than 76.
people keep saying we’re disappointed with FO76 but that community is thriving and the game is actually fun to play. Everyone keeps sitting on the broken mess it was at launch, but it’s aged like fine wine.
I seriously need a guide, someone to show me how to do the first quests and parts properly. I'm so lost and I have like 1,000 hours in Fallout 3, NV and Fallout 4
I would love a new game from the NV developers but I'm assuming most of the team that worked on NV isn't on the team so I'm kinda scared for it if they are able to make it
I mean if they pay their employees well and treat them well employees stick around. I’ve heard no drama surrounding obsidian. There’s a good chance the team hasn’t changed much.
@@NefariousLynx The team has changed a lot, the leadership of Feargus, Chris Parker and Josh Sawyer is the same, a lot of the devs and writers have changed though, the last game made by the people who made F:NV was Pillars of Eternity, that had most of the NV writers, Feargus, Chris Avellone and Josh Sawyer.
Obsidian seems very passionate about their games especially when compared against most other triple A game developers nowadays. A good example I think is outer worlds which recently came out a few years ago by obsidian; it was a relatively good game that only had the downside of being albeit a bit short yet it was still open world and definitely fun. I think overall while as you said much of the NV developers are now gone from obsidian, I believe they still have a good chance of producing a great game 😁👍
What I would like to see in fallout 5, Expansion on the fallout 4 concept of settlers You become a faction leader like for example brotherhood to build them settlements and then give the settlers orders of trade or going to war
So basically no new information. Just speculation and the need for another video. If it was possible to get all the features in UE5 it would be cool but I’m not holding my breathe for it. If they just use an updated CE then more time can be spent on story and assets for a quicker timetable.
I’ve wondered if it would be possible for a Fallout game to be made in the Unreal Engine 5 and it still have all the functionality we’re use to from the Creation Engine. That (Unreal) is the engine Obsidian is use to working with. But I will say that before New Vegas they had never worked with the Creation Engine and they still managed to make New Vegas in like 18 months, with some support from BGS of course. So I don’t see why they couldn’t do it again. I just hope it happens because as a huge fan of Fallout I don’t want to wait another 8 years or longer for the next Fallout game.
I would personally appreciate a remastered version of Fallout 1 and 2 for console. But fallout 5 really should be based in Chicago based upon the plethora of references to that state and the many lore implications. For example in the Fallout New Vegas trailer when ED-E is traveling on the road he is headed to the Enclaves base in Chicago. Besides that Whitley his creator has referenced Chicago as being an area where there is an Enclave presence, whether large or small we don’t know. We also know from the events of Fallout Tactics and Fallout 4 it was referenced that the BOS have a prominent presence in Chicago as well. The point is Chicago should and would make the most sense to be next in line imo. Maybe one day players will be allowed to join the Enclave in that capacity if Bethesda pursues Chicago.
If it's for next gen consoles only yeah definitely it has a lot of people that would disagree with me on this but it's been 2 years since the ps5 and Seres x released last generation consoles are holding back games from getting unreal engine 5 in my opinion last generation consoles needs to be a thing of the past don't forget about last gen games though I've been seeing a lot of games getting remasters or a next gen upgrade
It was my understanding that the reason that Bethesda does not use the unreal engine is that modding would no longer be possible for the community. I could be mistaken, but from what I remember reading, Bethesda created their engine to be easily moddable with their tool set, making it an easy and intuitive process for people with only modest skills to mod the game. They stated that going to something like the unreal engine would definitely improve the graphics, but would not be moddable anymore. If that is true, then of course, I want them to keep their own engine, Modding is essential to any Bethesda game, maybe somebody out there can chime in and let me know the validity of this.
Fallout 5: Twin Cities would be awesome. In Minnesota they could go the nuclear winter route and show a colder Wasteland, with mutated moose or something lol
Man, I would like to see Obsidian make a masterpiece out of Avowed and Outer Worlds 2 over Fallout. A new Fallout would be cool but I'm more excited for what Obsidian is already doing. As for a new setting, it would be sweet to see Fallout in San Diego or somewhere on the west coast.
Couldn't agree more. I'm really excited for Avowed. I really enjoyed Outer Worlds so I'm excited for the sequel. They should put all their time and effort on making these two games amazing.
I'd love another Pillars of Eternity as well. Still, if Obsidian handles the writing and design while Bethesda handles gameplay, Fallout 5 could be the best since the game moved to 3D. The problem with Fallout 4 was that the story was very subpar and way too much work clearly went into the time sink settlement system.
I think the team that built the creation engine and the team who built unreal, should team up and make the unreal creation engine. Í think it would be sick.
There's entirely no reason for this to happen, Unreal Engine has all the base functionality necessary to build a Fallout or Elder Scrolls game, however Bethesda has already invested so much time and money into Creation Engine; going all the way back to Gamebryo, that it doesn't make sense for them to switch engines.
@@amstrad00 Modding the Unreal Engine is much harder than the Creation Engine. Sadly using the Unreal Engine would mean less mods. IMHO it is the mods which make the game in Follaout 2, NV and 4.
It is possible to write your own serializer that uses some iteration of packed data and a master/plugin file for Unreal. We wrote our own using XML & .CS and loose Data in Unity that is fundamentally one step removed from thr clunky esm/esp and allows modders to add their own custom gear with stats, reuse template scripts, and even insert new C# code, while loading all the art files. It works for almost everything from terrain changes to UI elements. So having made one if the largest mods for a bethesda game, a huge mod for RimWorld, and made games in AAA and Indie in Unreal.... ....yes. you can write that system for Unreal. The question is: #1 -- is the team okay with using such a novel and bespoke system, which will have to update constantly as the game matures? Big risk there. #2 -- Will the manager & producer be willing to take on that tech debt risk from the beginning? (Make an engine framework before making a game is a bug investment with little guarantee it is the final ship.) #3 -- Will thr team accept thr inherent Version Control fiasco that comes from editing external files while making a game that simply doesn't need to do that when it can more easily hardcode everything as an ideology? There are more arguments against it. We said yes in our game and I can confirm, other games have been made and released in the time it took us to just establish a universal framework for our scope, which is not unsympathetic to thr scope of an open world 3d game like Fallout, which is a big inspiration for us along with RimWorld and MineCraft and Starsector, all "open world" 2d games with an emphasis on giant worlds.
As i ve said many times before, Bethesda HAS NOT TREATED FALLOUT kind lately...76 is a buggy mess full of crappy monetization ( yeah sadly i m a 76 player ) so yeah the fans (me included! ) need a NEW FALLOUT ASAP ! not after a DECADE ,TODD !!!! New Orleans sounds a great place...or maybe a HUGE City with lots of GREAT Highscrapers being connected with wooden /rope airbridges connecting them and LOTS OF THINGS to explore ! Come on TODD , we are Getting older and older ! Hire more people and make the god dam game before the Fallout fans die of OLD AGE ! (or we may end up seeing a fallout situation in rl as things go around the world lately... ☠ )
I’d like to see a Fallout in Colorado, because I’m really curious what Ulysses meant by “Denver Hounds” Also we’ve got Cheyenne mtn here, which, due to it being the head of NORAD (I think), I think that’d be a pretty important part of Fallout
Theres also chicago as there is still an active enclave base in the lore. My hypothesis is this is where Richter came from as he sure as hell didnt come from Navarro or cap wasteland. Appalachia chapter maybe (fo76), but I'm betting Chicago.
@@thenoteworthy1298 I wish they would let you play one where you started out in the enclave perspective. We have had the survivor(fo4) fresh vault(fo76), the lost kid(fo3) tribal(fo2) bos (fo tactics, fo bos) random fault dweller(fo1) and the fxcking mailman (fonv) it's time to give the enclave a story. If you can give the legion a campaign they can sure give America's finest a shot lol
I'd like to see what Obsidian can do with Fallout, when given ample time to actually work on it. if New Vegas is what they were able to crap out in under 2 years, imagine what they could really do if given a proper dev cycle of 4 - 6 years (or longer). I wasn't by any stretch a fan of New Vegas, but I can see they did their best with the extremely heavy constraints they were forced to work with. They could have definitely gotten quite a lot more content done and bugs fixed if they were permitted to. that's just one of the saddest thing about Bethesda games: devs aren't given enough time to work on the game, so there ends up being countless hours of cut content that just never gets to see the light of day.
Yeah I was a huge fan of FNV I went back and replayed it recently and found stuff I never knew about even a unique weapon I never knew about “the humble cudgel” but imagine if it could have be made without time constraints and without the limitations of the current console at the time freeside would have been huge New Vegas even bigger and the wasteland and the DLCs hell even the sewers have so much potential
Wouldn't it be smarter if they put out a new Elder Scrolls game first? Since ya know... we got Fallout 76 in 2018, and the last Elder Scrolls game was 2011... we're way past due time for a new ES game, i'd say.
No you guys can keep playing Skyrim because you guys keep buying it. Fallout 76 still needs to be worked on and as far as I’m concerned considering there have been several periods where there haven’t been a fallout game for a few decades I think we should get one before the people who originally experience this series die. You’re young you can probably afford to wait for another elder scrolls game. There are some people here who cannot.
I'm really looking forward to the next and probably my last Fallout and Elder Scrolls games. As I'm gettig older and these games are taking a decade or more to release, I'm probably only going to get one more of each then they won't make another before I'm dead. Hopefully I'll still be able to enjoy them like I do now but who knows.....
Great Video. Fallout and Elder Scrolls are main Pillars of my Gaming Experience, here on PC. I love the Modding and do not want to miss out on that under any Circumstance. Fallout 4 really was very flat and only Modding has carried it through until now and most likely into a Bunch of years more :P I really have high hopes for Avowed, and pray that this will be something to give Skyrim a break :D Many good Open World Games are coming to XBox and PC, and maybe Elder Scrolls and Fallout get a kick in the Butt, so they hurry up too. Until then Modders hopefully gonna deliver some of the old Games in BIG Mods for Skyrim and Fallout4.
CD Projekt Red has incredible planning for their future releases. Opening new studios, delegating properties to other developers, a release schedule... Man, Bethesda could take a note or two from them.
The Witcher remake is great news for any RPG enthusiast, but i favor Bethesda's approach more for some reason. The bigger issue right now is devs leaving their games completely unoptimized so you're basically forced to upgrade your hardware. At least Bethesda isn't "GRAPHICS ARE EVERYTHING" developer, while CD RED really optimized games before CP2077.
they probably have something going on that we know nothing about, but idk if what CDPR is really going to be as good as they made everyone think. unreal engine is a new engine to them, and many companies are already sold on making that engine their new engine, but there is a reason why bethesda stay with the creation engine that unreal engine can not seem to match. they probably hired some people to look into the inner workings of the unreal engine and with that knowledge they are either making adjustments to the creation kit or maybe considering a move at one point, but the creation engine as old as it is, it's still the most malleable tool in the entire industry to date for the last two decades. no game is nearly as moddable as the creation engine is, i don't know why but this is from what i hear about when i talk with modders and people who have been in the industry, the creation engine though clunky as fuck is still the best when it comes down to what is possible for their games. they just released a new way to upgrade the engine's need to keep performance on all of their games on low fps due to the limitation of the havoc physics in their games, not sure what they did, but the promise is that it will finally allow all of their games to have an uncapped framerate instead of being locked to only 60fps that alone is amazing to hear and is something that gamers have wanted for a long time now.
@@5226-p1e Good for them, honestly. I am tired of games that look great but have bland gameplay and there is something of a graphics crisis in gaming, and the first thing Starfield was criticized is that it looks outdated. But the changes in graphical fidelity these days are MINUTE, they are just nothing - Witcher 3 still looks great as do many older titles and this "I WANT EVERY BLADE OF GRASS TO SPARKLE" is why we get shit like Nvidia selling graphics cards for 1400. Honestly, we should be grateful to console players - without them this hobby would be two times more expensive. A lot of people are already being priced out of next-gen gaming and i'm glad to see Bethesda doesn't care so much about "BUT LOOK AT THIS AMAZING RAYTRACING EFFECT". The more people can play the game, the better. As for CD RED, you know when i knew CP2077 is sus? When Mike Pondsmith went silent, dude LOVES Cyberpunk, it is his jam, his thing, and he was nowhere, nada, nothing. These days i am less excited about games as games, but more anxious whether will i be able to run the fucking thing or will i have to spend money for a new rig.
What are you taking about? Bethesda just expanded their team by three new studios a few years back. (BGS Austin, Dallas and Montreal) If Bethesda need to learn something, they can ask Bioware, since CDPR used to be their apprentice.
@@GHOSTRIDER373737 Oh really? Genuinely didn't know that. Any news on the Kotor remake? By the looks of it, seems to be dead... Now, going back to the topic, i feel Bethesda is on the right track.
Microsoft has the money. Hell, all the money Bethesda robbed from us with 76, they do too.. They need to just hire a bunch of the modders that tend to put out stuff of higher quality then the actual Bethesda team. Have them work with obsidian, and I can't imagine how great it could be. The modders have proven better at optimization, and taking the creative content, and making it into something even better.
I honestly would love to see a fallout game where Obsidian and Bethesda works together. If it’s a combination between fallout NV factions, lore, characters etc and Bethesda’s fallout 4 building system etc then it would most likely be the best fallout game ever.
I get the feeling that Bethesda wouldn’t allow for good characters that’s not the direction they’re going more like some kind left wing Disneyland slot machine experience
@@brandon9172 they push what is essentially the modern slot machine trust me I work for the state lottery commission and my friend designs slot machines and they wrap it up in hardcore leftist ideology (that’s us left) because that’s what allows them social immunity while marketing slot machines that are allowed to be rigged to children because nobody under 80 plays slots anymore

1:37 New Orleans would be super awesome. There is something magical about Louisiana between the bayous, interesting highways, history and culture. I imagine it could feel very similar to New Vegas because of the gambling and party culture there. That city just has so much potential in the Fallout universe.
The main issue i can see with using unreal engine for the next fallout game is that Bethesda/Obsidian/Xbox would most likely not be able to release it to make mods. And one of the things that extends Bethesda games longevity is the modding scene. I'm not sure if they'd want to lose out on that.
There’s no reason mods can’t be allowed or possible on any game in the modern day. Devs just don’t give access to the tools like Bethesda and a handful of others. All they’d have to do is give us a dumbed down version of their toolkit
It's baffling to me that, just as Obsidian is finally coming with their own IPs and creative maturity , journalists and youtubers want them to go back to a creatively bankrupt IP. Let them flourish outside of Fallout. Let it be.
I couldn’t agree more with this statement. They have so much creativity and fallout is the most bland (artistically) IP I think I have ever heard of. Nuclear wasteland… ok and what is something interesting about it. I like the games but really because it’s Bethesda’s open world immersion, not for the creativity or the interest in the lore and world.
I would love for the Fallout franchise to continue into some of the more overlooked states such as Louisiana, Wisconsin, and/or maybe someplace more obscure like Nebraska or Kentucky? Another one that I could see being a great location is possibly Texas or even going as far as Hawaii. Honestly though, I'd play no matter where they are. Have a great day Colt!
I've wondered what Post Great War Texas and Midwest would be like, I wouldn't even mind playing a Pre War version of Fallout, there's more than enough conflict around the pre War world, we all know what fhe out come would be but, then boom post main story.
It would have to be a location with a lot of significance. So a setting like Chicago could have a ferry dlc to take you to somewhere in Wisconsin or Michigan
I agree!!! Especially with the Wisconsin idea. Let's revive the Midwest brotherhood!!! Plus there is still the possibility of a Enclave base left in the Midwest that was mentioned in New Vegas with EdE. So the catalyst is built right in.
I'm an older player and it saddens me to think of how long of a wait that is. On the bright side I will almost be retired and will have more time to play within a few years of that. It would be nice to get it sooner. With the awesome graphics and scenic beauty of Cyberpunk 2077. They will need to up that by one or two. I think it is interesting that CDProject Red is opening an office in Bethesda.
@@odobenus2221 In my opinion no. Example the humans in FO4 looked so much more fake and pasty than the humans in Skyrim. Skyrim was 2011, FO4 was 2015 and just not as attractive, people and scenery. I believe a fallout set in south America or in some sort of tropics would be very cool since there's such bio diversity imagine the different mutated creatures
I've always liked the concept of a Fallout game in Acapulco tbh, I think it would be among the best potential non US settings for a fallout game and im surprised not a lot of ppl have talked abt it before
Bro screw star field and elder scrolls I want fallout yes I’m hyped for elder scrolls but fallout is way more important to me I haven’t played Skyrim since the 1st time it was released and I still have no interest in it whatsoever

Great lakes city Buffalo or Detroit industry city(armored and self robotic car Droids built by the remaining car industry . But, that has tons of woods across the water. Imagine vaults under the great lakes. Mutant mooses and huge turtles, odd things that live under the water. That would be interesting considering the lore. Its been mentioned in games that shortly before the nuclear war, the US invaded and annexed Canada, would the descendants of the Canadians still be resisting the descendants of the US Military in the wasteland?
Denver and it’s associated areas would be cool. Yellowstone is another. Could’ve even go back to old locations a proper scaled new Vegas would be cool to see it be like the scale of Boston in fallout 4
Sorry man gotta disagree with you on Fallout 76 as I have been playing steadily since Wastelanders came out and have seen quite the influx of new and returning players. I play on Ps5 and have no issues with finding or starting groups and the content has only been getting better with the new developer teams and upcoming season 11 looking by many to be the best one yet. I would also wager that most who have the "disappointment" statement either have not checked out he game since the many over halls and content updates and or are just hate train for anything bandwagoners . Either way the game is far better off now and only getting better with a slew of updates already slated for the upcoming year.
Slew of updates....yeah ok. Have you seen their first quarter 2024 roadmap? The same events all of the time but they can't be bothered to add new items in? Game is trash!
I'd love to see fallout games just popping out here in there. Like have two studios making Fallout games exploring different parts of the world simultaneously.
These conversations imo are meaningless because Bethesda is the Fallout custodian and I dont know if they want anybody else working on the franchise besides them at least for the first exclusive one for xbox.
The big difference now is they are both now owned by Microsoft. Phil could easily have a meeting with Todd and then a joint meeting with Obsidian to come up with a direction and time line for Fallout that could benefit everyone.
@@RocNation04 if Bethesda doesnt want to thats the end of it. And Xbox doesnt need a fallout this gen with the amount of rpg's they are making at the moment.
A Fallout title set outside of the United States like in Australia could be interesting, but the problem with that is that “Americana”, American atomic age futurism & Googie architecture are key elements of Fallout games. It’s a very American franchise & the games lampoon things fairly specific to this country. The best locale for a new would be a deep south city, particularly New Orleans bc of its locations and culture, or Chicago due to past references to Chicago in Fallout games.
Fallout 4 is my all-time favorite game, but I really hope that the next version is sooner than later, and that it isn't riddled with quest-breaking bugs like F4 was/still is.
i don't recall hearing anything about "MAJOR" changes to Fallout coming. I just heard that it won't be showing up until I'm in my 50s. What changes did you mention ?
I’m honestly so bummed out by 76 and the fact that 5 won’t be out until near 2030 that I’ve shifted my hype towards fan made projects like Cascadia, Miami, Capital Wasteland, and F4NV. All four have seen amazing progress, and will almost definitely be released in the next couple years.
Here’s my question: if Microsoft can’t dictate what their studios make, then what was the point? Contract language is often confusing, but there’s no way MS would spend so much money land NOT control the product. They can and will, start dictating what gets made. Otherwise, Sony wouldn’t be trying so hard to stop their Activision buyout.
Something I would love is the karma system coming back capability of doing the end game quest solo (no factions required) the movement guns and gun play of cod (naturally also fallout style guns so not limited to just modern ones)...prone laying down on the ground crawl under stuff ect it could increase your sneak and gun stability that would be bad ass maybe add the ability to build basically anywhere you want instead of specific locations and if possible split screen/online capability you know how cool it would be if you and a buddy could be split screen or just together in the map
The unmentioned issue on engine choice is that Bethesda has an upgraded engine as well. Programming in a new engine would be "fun" for Obsidian. That's the technical aspect and probably gets into creative control issues as well. That said, there are a few options to consider: 1. FONV 2.0 using Unreal 5 or Creation Engine 2, with restored and patched content. A joint work between Obsidian and Bethesda. 2. FONV 2 using either engine, joint work between the studios, as a West Coast setting reusing the FONV lore. Fallout 5 as a Bethesda Studios work to be done separately. 3. Josh Sawyer, once done with whatever he's working on now, schleps from Irvine, CA to Bethesda, MD to start development work on FO5 with Todd Howard greenlighting FO5 as a joint project developed by Obsidian and programmed in Creation Engine 2. I consider it a requirement by Bethesda that FO5 use their upgraded engine. That's the entire purpose for it. What matters is what piece of which pie Obsidian is offered, and whether the pie is Unreal 5.1 or Creation Engine 2 based.
I understand that the biggest complaint about Fallout 76 is the fact that it's not a single player game. I'm playing it, it's okay, but the overwhelming number of quests is annoying.
Just curious what the source of Fallout 4 New Vegas’s release date is?. You said it was nearly complete and will possibly release in 2023. Where have they said this?
it would be cool if they took what made new vegas good , make it co-op / multiplayer and put it in a completely evovled version from the ground up of fallout 1 . that would be groovy
Thanks for the update. FYI F4 is not so bad if you play on survival mode with some mods that don't affect anything, just add green and little speed to the game. Game is fun without the minuteman. Just go inside the concord on lvl 10-20 to grab the bobblehead and don't talk to the minuteman and continue to enjoy the game to lvl 100-120
you and everyone else can hate on Fallout 76 all you want. I have yet too see YOUR game Colt that is so much better than what Bethesda and their amazing staff have created. There is so much that goes into making ANY game. The progress that Bethesda has had in Fallout 76 is heartening and I can't wait to see what they do next with the franchise.
Fallout anywhere in the USA! I hope they use the RDNA2 Features/,Hardware in the Xbox Series S/X the Next Gen Features and show the real power the consoles can really do!
Dude, I hope that Bethesda will FINALLY fix the black screen error thst occurs with Alienware M17 R3 Laptops. So far, I've met many people that have the same issue I am having. Basically, if you try and play Fallout 4 on an Alienware M17 R3, the game will start up yes but the screen is COMPLETELY black, leaving the game unplayable
If this were to happen it would be a step in the right direction for Microsoft and the studio's involved, yet I think it would feel rushed and have the same issues as any other Fallout game. I am in my mid 50s and have been playing these games since there release and look forward to the new ones.
Xbox has so many Fallout candidates since they have Bethesda, Obsidian and Inxile. By no means would I want them to oversaturate the market, but 15 years between releases would be unacceptable for such a franchise. One every 5 years would be an acceptable consistency. A numbered one from Bethesda and a spin off one from Obsidian or inxile should be how it goes. It would give them 10 years amongst them but would also keep it fresh in the fans eyes.
Colt, I'm a huge Fallout Fan and I fucking hate Fallout 76 as well. The only good thing about Fallout 76 was when they had Nuclear Winter, then they took that away making it completely unlovable!
Where would you like the next Fallout Game to take place?
New Orleans
Stockton
fallout san francisco
Brazil
Philadelphia. I know they did Pittsburgh, but it was meh just like it is in real life. If not Philly, it'd be cool to go to Florida and see how that goes.
Remember that the Obsidian that made Fallout New Vegas is not the same Obsidian we have today. The majority of the old staff that did NV do not work for Obsidian anymore.
NV was a perfect storm of creative writing and hard work. It's unlikely to happen again anytime soon. It deserves a remaster but doesn't get one.
If you want a game made by a lot of people who worked on F:NV, you need to play Pillars of Eternity/POE2, those games even had some of the same writers, before quite a few left in 2019. They were the last true "black isle" team games.
True but they still have feargus and sawyer, which is a good start. They just need to get avellone back.

The idea of Bethesda + Obsidian churning out games one after another on XBOX brings me nothing but joy!
@iumpieces that’s sounds like crunch for them for the jext decade
Unsure how I like the news
Only time will tell how good this decision was
The idea of bathesda churning out games makes me worry, especially after fallout 4, New Vegas, the elderscrolls 3, 4, 5 and fallout 76..... Bathesda is out of touch with their customers..
I'm kinda pissed since I'm on PlayStation. They abandoned a decent chunk of their fans by going exclusive AFTER people got a chance to enjoy their games. Really sucks.
@iumpieces
I'm not getting an XBox, I hate Bill Gates.
Are you insane? The games come out half finished and buggy as hell NOW, they'd be ten times worse if they come out constantly
Fallout 4 is fantastic. Every time I think of yet another interesting character build it equals another playthrough just to experiment.
Obsidian made outer worlds because they couldn't get their hands on fallout.
and it suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuucked
I thought it kicked ass!
Dear god that game is the definition of "Mid"
Still better than unmodded FO4
I thought it was pretty good.
@@NoBaconForYou you are digitally whoring yourself out lmaooo

Don't let the haters hold you back
@@ewildk lol I love Fallout, they are my favorite games, but you don't offer me a power armor helmet than don't give me a power armor helmet.
I've played many games over the years, but I always come back to the Fallout universe. It just appeals to me like no other game does..
Fallout has potential to be one of the most important video games to ever release
I think New York would be a really good area to show off the Fallout lore, along with the sizes of cities, and capability of modern hardware.
Cannot work
Lore wise
The planet of Elder Scrolls, and it’s moons are part of the god realm and all kinds of magical related lore
They live in a pocket dimension, so there is no space per say in Elder scrolls, it’s all extension of other gods (moons, constellations, and planets)
As far as I can tell, per usual, we might get references, but nothing like “they are in the same universe” type deal
@@bradleyjenkins2271 By the nine!

Gearbox did something similar in Battleborn for Borderlands 3. A quote from Tannis, "We are not on Pandora anymore." I think that was the quote.
Clearly Todd doesn’t want Obsidian to show them up again.
BGS has too many IP's for the size it is. They either need to grow their staff significantly to be able to release all their IP's within a 5-6 year window (or less) of each other or let other studios work/collaborate on one or two of them.
It is already too large to be able to provide quality content in a game. F4/76 were created by the boardroom, not by passionate developers.
Imagine having a roll where we go from Starfield to Avowed to Fallout 5 to Fable to The Outer Worlds 2 then ES6 or something like that general order. Should be a good generation.
I'd love to read that 1 pager on Fallout 5. I hope they do shake it up a bit.

3 is still better. But I wouldn't complain about a New Vegas remake
Whereas a game like cod(
I love the concepts New Vegas had, but the world felt vastly empty. I really did enjoy the expansions though.
In case you hadn't heard, Obsidian was only given 18 months to make New Vegas. Just saying.
@@novidsinthischannel same old excuses
@@novidsinthischannel Obsidian claimed they could do it in 18 months, it was their choice, not Bethesda's.
With the way the real world is going we won't need a Fallout in 2030 because we'll be living it.
That's true! Hahahahaha

I hope with another fallout game so far out they keep up with the updates just like Eso, i think so many peoples opinion was spoiled by the launch
Bethesda should just be smart and let obsidian make another spin off, then they can still continue with fallout 5
What I would like to see in fallout 5,
Expansion on the fallout 4 concept of settlers
You become a faction leader like for example brotherhood to build them settlements and then give the settlers orders of trade or going to war
I'd definitely be up for a Fallout game set in Chicago. So much opportunity there to build upon established lore.
Do you think they would build the game in Unreal Engine 5 if Obsidian were to make a Fallout Game. That would be awesome
Fake @joshuabillings5108
3D like Fallout game?
Unreal Engine 5 or Bethesda and Obsidian
It was my understanding that the reason that Bethesda does not use the unreal engine is that modding would no longer be possible for the community. I could be mistaken, but from what I remember reading, Bethesda created their engine to be easily moddable with their tool set, making it an easy and intuitive process for people with only modest skills to mod the game. They stated that going to something like the unreal engine would definitely improve the graphics, but would not be moddable anymore. If that is true, then of course, I want them to keep their own engine, Modding is essential to any Bethesda game, maybe somebody out there can chime in and let me know the validity of this.
@@ericpiper9002 I heard unreal engine 5 is actually easy to work with and anyone can use unreal engine 5 for free to make games
Fallout 5: Twin Cities would be awesome. In Minnesota they could go the nuclear winter route and show a colder Wasteland, with mutated moose or something lol
I want them to make a fallout game where we can make a vault a settlement. that would be really cool.
There was a DLC for Fallout 4 that let you do that.
Vault 88?

I'd love to see inExile get the next go at Fallout.
Would be wonderful to do a remaster of FNV, with all the added cut content lol but I would wager that will never happen.
Agreed, fallout is an artistic trap. They have way more potential of creativity with these new titles.
New franchise, established franchise, big budget, small budget. Obsidian just rules. Period. ♥
Outer worlds the most mid game of the decade
@@ThordTV I don't know where you've gotten the impression that modding for UE is harder, it's just a different workflow.
The question is:
#1 -- is the team okay with using such a novel and bespoke system, which will have to update constantly as the game matures? Big risk there.
#2 -- Will the manager & producer be willing to take on that tech debt risk from the beginning? (Make an engine framework before making a game is a bug investment with little guarantee it is the final ship.)
#3 -- Will thr team accept thr inherent Version Control fiasco that comes from editing external files while making a game that simply doesn't need to do that when it can more easily hardcode everything as an ideology?
There are more arguments against it.
We said yes in our game and I can confirm, other games have been made and released in the time it took us to just establish a universal framework for our scope, which is not unsympathetic to thr scope of an open world 3d game like Fallout, which is a big inspiration for us along with RimWorld and MineCraft and Starsector, all "open world" 2d games with an emphasis on giant worlds.

Also we’ve got Cheyenne mtn here, which, due to it being the head of NORAD (I think), I think that’d be a pretty important part of Fallout
Theres also chicago as there is still an active enclave base in the lore. My hypothesis is this is where Richter came from as he sure as hell didnt come from Navarro or cap wasteland. Appalachia chapter maybe (fo76), but I'm betting Chicago.
@@-Luna-tic.exe- ohhhhh yes, that would be awesome

Obsidian doesn't have the NV devs, they either are working on bethesda or just bounced out
Yeah I was a huge fan of FNV I went back and replayed it recently and found stuff I never knew about even a unique weapon I never knew about “the humble cudgel” but imagine if it could have be made without time constraints and without the limitations of the current console at the time freeside would have been huge New Vegas even bigger and the wasteland and the DLCs hell even the sewers have so much potential
Fallout 4 really was very flat and only Modding has carried it through until now and most likely into a Bunch of years more :P
I really have high hopes for Avowed, and pray that this will be something to give Skyrim a break :D
Many good Open World Games are coming to XBox and PC, and maybe Elder Scrolls and Fallout get a kick in the Butt, so they hurry up too.
(BGS Austin, Dallas and Montreal)
If Bethesda need to learn something, they can ask Bioware, since CDPR used to be their apprentice.
@@GHOSTRIDER373737 Oh really? Genuinely didn't know that. Any news on the Kotor remake? By the looks of it, seems to be dead...
Now, going back to the topic, i feel Bethesda is on the right track.
Dam, I'll be 60 by the time Fallout 5
fallout 76 is a lot better now ! Just needs more constant content.
it‘s 10 times worse
Hi colt where on earth did the aircraft in the last few minutes of your video come from it's so cool
It is from a Concept for Fallout 5 I found online
Microsoft has the money. Hell, all the money Bethesda robbed from us with 76, they do too.. They need to just hire a bunch of the modders that tend to put out stuff of higher quality then the actual Bethesda team. Have them work with obsidian, and I can't imagine how great it could be. The modders have proven better at optimization, and taking the creative content, and making it into something even better.
I guess I'll need to live another 20 years if I'm going to play a new Fallout... ok...
If they let you live...
This studio is just unbelievably NOT giving their fans what they want! It's ridiculous!!!
What was the source for the intro animations? I have never seen those?
All I ask is that, they have more than 2 years this time please😩😩
I'm 80 fecken years old. I CAN'T wait another 8-10 years for one last Fallout game! 😉
Drink some nuca cola quantum, ghoul!
@@nothanks9503
what does that even mean dude
"Left wing disneyland slot machine experience" absolute mumbo jumbo. Do you hear yourself talking?
@@brandon9172 they push what is essentially the modern slot machine trust me I work for the state lottery commission and my friend designs slot machines and they wrap it up in hardcore leftist ideology (that’s us left) because that’s what allows them social immunity while marketing slot machines that are allowed to be rigged to children because nobody under 80 plays slots anymore
@@nothanks9503
Dawg I made fun of you for saying dumb things and then you come back and say something that's even more absurd.
Slot machines are slot machines, they're just meant to take your money. None of them are wrapped in "hardcore leftist ideology". But hey maybe im wrong. Maybe they're painting hammer and sickles on the sides of them, and writing down Marxian quotes.. "workers of the world you have nothing to lose but your chains! Now give me all your money"
I dont have a problem with even elder scrolls 6 being in creation engine because of mods...the possibilities are endless
There’s no reason mods can’t be allowed or possible on any game in the modern day. Devs just don’t give access to the tools like Bethesda and a handful of others.
All they’d have to do is give us a dumbed down version of their toolkit
Aside from the F4NV footage where is the rest of these Fallout clips from?
It's baffling to me that, just as Obsidian is finally coming with their own IPs and creative maturity , journalists and youtubers want them to go back to a creatively bankrupt IP. Let them flourish outside of Fallout. Let it be.
I couldn’t agree more with this statement. They have so much creativity and fallout is the most bland (artistically) IP I think I have ever heard of. Nuclear wasteland… ok and what is something interesting about it. I like the games but really because it’s Bethesda’s open world immersion, not for the creativity or the interest in the lore and world.
They can work on multiple projects.
@@ChodaBoyUSA And Bethesda Game Studio can't?
@@Harveevideos Clearly.

I've wondered what Post Great War Texas and Midwest would be like, I wouldn't even mind playing a Pre War version of Fallout, there's more than enough conflict around the pre War world, we all know what fhe out come would be but, then boom post main story.
fallout tornado country lol.
It would have to be a location with a lot of significance. So a setting like Chicago could have a ferry dlc to take you to somewhere in Wisconsin or Michigan
Ooo Kentucky has a lot of potential because of the Appalachia culture and the extensive cave networks that might be attractive to Vault-Tec
"They will need to up that by one or two", why? Are FO games known for the best graphics at any of them when released?
@@odobenus2221 In my opinion no. Example the humans in FO4 looked so much more fake and pasty than the humans in Skyrim. Skyrim was 2011, FO4 was 2015 and just not as attractive, people and scenery. Luckily the great modders fixed most of that. However I still never found a mod to fix the humans completely, and I tried many.
I would love to see obsidian take a shot at elder scrolls more than anything. That would have the potential to be the best game ever made IMO
Obsidian is making a fantasy game called Avowed. It looks pretty cool.
After the Outer Worlds? That would ruin ESO.
@@MackBanjo23 aw man don’t get me started, Avowed is probably the most hyped I’ve ever been for a game. I still want to see obsidians world building and spin on elder scrolls tho instead of fallout for a change. Just to see how they would do it. But honestly I’d still take Avowed 2 at that point over Elder scrolls: Obsidian.
@@kronk9418 outer worlds didn’t have the man power or the budget to make anything above mediocre. Now that they have a team as large as Skyrim’s dev team, and enough to outsource things like AI systems like halo ce did with Microsoft’s wallet or anything they feel like outsourcing, they have many opportunities open to them.
nah. I prefer they expand on their own Ips like PoE and Tyranny
I believe a fallout set in south America or in some sort of tropics would be very cool since there's such bio diversity imagine the different mutated creatures
I've always liked the concept of a Fallout game in Acapulco tbh, I think it would be among the best potential non US settings for a fallout game and im surprised not a lot of ppl have talked abt it before
Just saw a suggestion that touches on that but Seattle Washington is a rainforest a radioactive rainforest would be nuts
Bro screw star field and elder scrolls I want fallout yes I’m hyped for elder scrolls but fallout is way more important to me I haven’t played Skyrim since the 1st time it was released and I still have no interest in it whatsoever
I would love the next fallout to be on the border of US/Canada with the ability to cross from country to country. You get all the southern Ontario environments cities and NY which has a huge potential for gameplay environment.
Great lakes city Buffalo or Detroit industry city(armored and self robotic car Droids built by the remaining car industry . But, that has tons of woods across the water. Imagine vaults under the great lakes. Mutant mooses and huge turtles, odd things that live under the water. An story it stinks to say water is life or some mastermind bring up a great monster from the Lake that they control.
Unbelievable that starfield is coming mid next year seriously
Man I love fallout and I'd love to play another fallout game but I will probably be dead by the time they finish it 💀
Same man
Sorry man gotta disagree with you on Fallout 76 as I have been playing steadily since Wastelanders came out and have seen quite the influx of new and returning players.
New Vegas one is a really old Follout and a very great spin off if you want to consider that, I belive new Vegas 2 should be a Microsoft exclusive.
2:30 I didn't know Todd Howard led Bethesda Softworks. I thought he was the director for Bethesda Game Studios.
Fallout 4 is my all-time favorite game, but I really hope that the next version is sooner than later, and that it isn't riddled with quest-breaking bugs like F4 was/still is.
Why don't they come up with previous game importers to the current engine?
i don't recall hearing anything about "MAJOR" changes to Fallout coming.
All four have seen amazing progress, and will almost definitely be released in the next couple years.
all they need to do is give obsidian full control with 3 years atleast
I just started 76 and it’s fun!!!!
That said, there are a few options to consider:
What’s the deal with that pipboy render at the 7:00 minute mark? Is it part of some mod?
Yeah

it would be cool if they took what made new vegas good , make it co-op / multiplayer and put it in a completely evovled version from the ground up of fallout 1 . that would be groovy
Currently running a mod list on Xbox one that's just all realism, adds a lot to the game if you want me to list the mods I have.
you and everyone else can hate on Fallout 76 all you want.
Just can’t imagine why you wouldn’t give the green light to the people that made the most beloved fallout game of them all
If this were to happen it would be a step in the right direction for Microsoft and the studio's involved, yet I think it would feel rushed and have the same issues as any other Fallout game.
At 5:31 you said obsidian halt development of grounded to finish elder scrolls I think you meant avowed
Ryan McCaffrey said that. I couldn't show the quote on screen because he deleted it.
