Hands down the quickest player I've ever been on the field with. His acceleration and change of direction were absolutely incredible. Lacrosse aside, what an athlete! Oh yeah, and an incredibly fun player to watch. Getting to see Casey, Ryan and Mike play was a gift to the fans from the lacrosse gods. I want to know what they put in the water in Carthage in the 80s...Casey, Ryan, & Mike Powell, Jason and Josh Coffman. I think Jason was possibly the most fun to watch, seeing him at College Park a few years on Championship Sunday was just awesome. A friggin' goal scoring machine. "I'm going to barely jog to that spot, then inside roll you, then I'm going to score on a dip and dunk. See if you can stop me." And Josh wasn't bad either;)
@@edabney07 Every Powell wore 22 for Syracuse. 22 is designated to the biggest prospect. Yes, because of Gary Gate but Mikey Powell is the best NCAA lacrosse player ever. Lyle Thompson is number 2.
Man so many memories watching him, he's a huge inspiration to me. My first game I watched of him was that Navy Championship game and then I tried to find everything on him.
Growing up Mikey and fellow Powell brothers shaped the way we all play lacrosse today. And while im not a cuse fan. The 22 deserves its place among the rafters and in the legend books of this great sport. Mikey its sad to see how this great sport took the fun of it away from you. But reading your post about taking your kids to that tournament I hope it reignites the fire inside you for Lacrosse and I hope to see you return to it maybe not as a player but in some way you find the love for it again. Watching you play was electric!!!
MIKEY POWELL in his prime...still the best attackman to play the game. You put him in a time machine in 2004 and give him 4 years at Syracuse today he would have the exact same career.
I randomly searched Mikey Lowell’s name after probably 15 years of watching his highlight and was stoked to see that this video was only uploaded a day before I searched him…. What a goat!
I'll never forget turning the game on when I saw him do the front flip in a game. That was crazy and it inspired me to be a better player and to wear the number 22 proudly!
I never realized how much of his game you see in guys like Sowers, Pat Spencer, the Kavanaugh bros, Chris Gray, etc. now a days. What a huge influence

The way this man put people on skates in unmatched.
There are so many highlights that never got recorded from this era. I wish we had more MP film
I was at the game in SYR where he did the front flip after a restart in play. It was nuts!
Lacrosse hero, it is a joy to watch him.

3:10 This is the coldest pass I think I've ever seen 🥶🥶
Incredible thank you for sharing. Reason I chose #22 in high school!

Amazing player from a time when Syracuse was dominant. I hope they get back there.

All kids these days started wearing the ridiculous eye black thanks to Mikey Powell.
Before. His. Time
Wow
90s lax was the best
1:42 he made that goalie do ballet 🩰
✌️ 👑
Great highlights, but none are nearly as great as seeing him play Catch-O-Rama with kids at a lax camp.
Mike Powell or Gary Gait?
Field or box lacross?
Top 5 all-time.....easy
Is this from the 90s?
Mike played from 2001 to 2004 at Syracuse!
"I didn't play my best game" has six points...
