Game 2 between LB and Lev starts at 1:48 and they play for a record 12 + minutes. Both players reach speed level 70, where pills drop at 30 rows per second. That is the same speed you get when you press down at a normal speed.
I play this game every night with my wife after dinner, been doing that for 4-5 years. Wanted to come to this, but other commitments with the kids. Maybe it is just me, but it seems like the majority of the players are going for combos more than they are trying to clear. Most of my bombs are accidental. We play highest level.
I think the meta is currently combo'ing often, but the level of skill is forcing players to shift into more of a Speedrun/all clear mindset, as top outs are getting increasingly rarer as the skill increases. Still, an evolving playfield is shifting the way the majority of us play and think with aggro/defense.
@@swongstrong I may not just be up to the level of these players, but I would love to test it at the next event next year. My focus is always on clearing first, that may be because we start at lvl 20 so it is mandatory so you do not top out. Single combos are pretty easy, but it just feels like the players are trying too hard to triple or quad combos. Puts them in bad spots later IMO.
We will have several events across the country next year. The regional events are a good litmus test to test your skill against live competition without the chaos of the World Championship. Hope to see you!
