@@TheLIRRFrenchie... It's interesting how these already very similar systems are also evolving somewhat in unison. They all started with bougie commuter trains on largely suburbia-centered alignments. They all had plush seats and carpets. Station security was minimal because they thought the systems would be isolated from what were perceived as "urban" problems. Now they're all evolving into full subways/metros. WMATA in DC is probably the furthest along in the metro/subway transition. BART is following close behind. MARTA and Miami are sort of moving in the same direction, but slower. These systems might not be the best at being pure subways right now but they have incredibly solid bones for very high quality metros/subways in the future. This was good infrastructure spending. Too bad that we didn't build more of these space-age metros when construction was still cheap!
The first cars (CQ310 model - 100s) had carpet and soft seats. The next series had carpet and hard seats. The blue seats came in after general overhaul, and of course the carpet dissappeared long ago.
MARTA can't afford to tear down and rebuild multimillion dollar transit stations just to stay fashionable with supposed trends (I really think some folks just want to tear them down and rebuild them simply to waste their resources so useful things can't get done). Spend the money on practical projects that route pedestrian traffic into existing MARTA Stations. Build new MARTA stations. And, build new pedestrian corridors that are lined with entertainment, trendy small shops, gathering spots for social activity and improved quality of life, and feed into MARTA, and have MARTA feed this, and then MARTA and life away from automobilies will grow, as does quality of life for folks who can't afford helicopter rides, and for folks who don't have friends with castles they can visit. MARTA is our community. Feed it. Let it feed us. We will thrive together. If we try to force MARTA down the throats who people live their life around automobilies, and driving to and from their castles, then it definitely fail. Feed MARTA to pedestrian places like Malls, Parks, Hospitals, Theaters, Areneas, Pedestrian Boulivards, etc. These areas are filled with people ready to walk away from their cars. Everyone else is taking their car to someone elses front door. They aren't about to get on MARTA unless it can get them their faster. So another spot is i85 through Gwinnett County. That's where the traffic is going 15mph or less 1/3 of the time. Build a MARTA line that parallels it and zips overhead so everyone creeping along at 15mph will look up and see, "I want to be on that!" and if they don't, if they've been car-educated all their life, then they're still going to have their little kids marketing for MARTA when beg again and again and again and again and again, "I want to ride that fast train!" and the kids will know best!
I'm talking about the global economic shutdown now unfolding and in a very early stage. Everyone reading this at any point in Spring 2020 should stay home except to perform life sustaining tasks.

MARTA is like a sister system to BART and DC metro.
It is the map the train body type is the same for DC metro
They were all funded through the same transit tax that got them built so no surprise there. Toss in Baltimore, Miami metro rail as well.
@@skydiamond8705 no it's not, not even half the size of dc metro

MARTA is such an interesting system. Great supercut!
marta needs to expand its rail system down to Morrow Ga, Fayetteville , Eagles Landing then to McDonough Ga .
Never have I experienced more young future felons or possibly existing felons during the time that I rode Marta during my 6 years in the ATL.
What they were doing? Can You tell something more?
This is such a good video.
So Marta is where NJ Transit got its style and logo from!!
Baltimore, SEPTA, NJT and other operators sent buses down there to run Olympic Games shuttles.

I like the interior design seating in these subway cars, than the New York City ones, at least.

I'm guessing that @Trainluvr is referring to his ability to access the network from where he is at.
