I wear mine, it is comfortable and I have tried it. It works. I went with red for improved visibility, especially if in the water. Mine is the NRS Chinook. My only issue is the zippers. The zippers can be fouled by saltwater. Velcro would be better because in an emergency the zipper pocket may not open. I do rinse the zippers after each outing.
Very helpful video. The sizing on the Raku is weird. The XS/M is chest 30"-42" and the L/XL is 42"-52". In my case, XS/M would be the right choice. However, the XS/M is only for weights up to 132 lbs. There are a lot of people in the world with less than 42" chest who weight more than 132 lbs.
Very nice video. Great selection to review. Been to Park Falls? Great little town... huge St. Croix facility. I'm not sure how these knife holders work.
I have looked at them. I didn’t like the pocket design for me. But, to each his own preference as long as people wear them! My knife is the NRS Co-Pilot
All junk for me. I paddle salt water and they throw cheap metal zippers on the pockets. The zips turn to white powder and die quick wirh ocean salt. No go.
Thanks for your comment. I’m sorry you had that experience with the PDFs you tried. After your comment, I looked at all the zippers on my PDFs in the video and none of them are made from metal. They all are either nylon or a plastic type of material. I’ve had mine in salt water many times and have never had that issue.

Good point about the zippers! Rinse down everything after being in saltwater!
Thank you. Great info to help me select my life jacket!
Awesome! Glad it helped!
Another great video!
Thanks James!
Thinking about getting the Raku for my next PFD, better start looking for it now haha
Yep! Thanks for watching Nate!

Great video!
Thanks for the visit
have you tried any Mustang inflatable pfd’s? no poxkets, and that took some getting used to, but man i love mine.
Haven’t tried one yet. Think they look great though. I like knowing I’ll float without having to rely on another physical process to work.
After using both Raku and Keeper, which one would u prefer to use ?
I personally prefer the Raku although it might be hard to find soon because as I understand, NRS has discontinued it.
Sounds good thanks for the reply
How is the bulkiness on the front side? Is it more less bulky than the keeper and or chinook line ?
Any suggestions for a less bulky frontside and flat back like the keeper and Raku?
Great video! Have you considered the Astral PFDs? Also, what is your knife?
