Here is the official "UNSC Tools of Trade" Weapons trailer for the 2010 game Halo Reach! This was edited by me in Adobe Premier and After Effects with UI effects being assembled in Illustrator. I am a freelance video editor looking to break into the industry in these are my first steps!

This is truly amazing. It definitely shows off how amazing theatre mode is, when it actually works.
I still find it hilarious how 343 has never managed to figure out how to implement a functional theater mode, something Bungie was able to do easily.
This is so sick! It's like an actual trailer made back in 2010.
I really loved the little text boxes for some of the weapons. Couldn't read the one for the Shotgun, but the Chaingun, Rocket Launcher, and Spartan Laser were funny to read.

One of my favorite tracks in halo reach and it fits so well in this video. I love the style this video shows off the weapons in a raw game play way so we actually learn about the weapons, while still being highly cinematic.

Nicely done! The use of occasional match cuts was really cool and not overplayed. If you plan on doing more in the future, I'd just make sure each time a weapon's name is shown it's fully in frame. Some were and some we're (like the AR) in this. Hope to see more of these and similar projects in the future!

You nailed the footage, the slow-mo, and the overall template for demonstrating every weapon for a weapons-trailer for Reach. You nailed a goal of getting the audience hyped, but I think you need to tweak some things still in order to nail the goal of conveying information concisely.
The glitch effect is conceptually fitting decision for transitions, but the one used in this video are distracting and made me think the video was going to introduce a different idea or segment, because of how conspicuous it is. The timing or life-span of the effect works well, but the qualities that make it conspicuous are the big and chunky horizonal bars of the effect, and its position in the center of the screen with a nearly undetectable build up or fade out; it spontaneously appears, breaks the entire image, and disappears. This effect may be better suited for separating chapters in a video, or otherwise bigger segments; such as, in between the end of one weapon's gameplay footage, and the intro of a different weapon. Transitions between different footage and views of gameplay will benefit from a less conspicuous transition effect, so that the idea of a segment isn't disrupted while different footage are chained together.
The in-game text edits featuring a weapon's name and a description also need a small, but necessary change. The current effect is aesthetically appropriate and cool; the issue is the lack of hierarchy between the name of a weapon and its description. While watching, I wasn't able to anticipate where to look to read the name of the weapon being demonstrated; I had to sort of look around the screen to find the weapon name and its description. Establishing a pattern for where viewers can look towards to find information would help in that regard.

Very much reminds me of Halo 4's trailers weapon showcase for each faction in the game. Right down to the close up, freeze frame with text providing info. I love it. Keep it up Late Night

I really like it though i feel like the glitching transitions happen a bit too often. I would think it would be cool if you added in like auntie dot type transitions

I actually put a bit of thought into that. It flowed a bit better when it was one-single-stream of bullets rather than the weapon being broken up by deaths

much much better on the eyes, only complain is still the glitching effect, this time it's because it's always the same, it has the same shape, it has that horizontal lines every time, i know it's supposed to look like an old TV loosing signal or changing channels but it's way too repetitive, i don't know if this can be addressed in any way like creating different variants of glitches. the same way developers try and create different kinds of footsteps sounds for the same terrain so that it doesn't get repetitive you should do with the glitching effect

Man, Halo used to look so awesome.
Not sure if it was intentional but the use of 70fov was a nice touch, 100+ for trailers/cinematic stuff takes you out of the moment and it's obvious you're watching a video game.
Nice edits! But i would like to give some feedback: Maybe tone down a bit on those glitch transitions/effects, too much of those in quick succesion makes following the action quite dizzying.

Absolutely love this, I'd recommend that you split up the name and descriptions as putting that much text on the screen at once feels hard to read, and splitting up the blocks to show the name first then the description would allow for a better comprehension of each block, even when taking up the same time frame as they currently do I think

Genuinely impressed with your vision however I did fine the constant use of the buffer effect too much, it works when you're transitioning from gameplay and showcase

Reach isn't really the best times for the Covies arsenal. The Repeater is useless trash, the Plasma Rifle is redundant, the Needle Rifle was a weaker DMR, and the Focus Rifle lacked focus (And damage).
The only weapons to thrive was the needler and the plasma pistol. Both are genuinely great weapons in Reach. Another weapon that was supposed to be great is the plasma grenade launcher until it got nerfed in release.

That was very cool. The distortion/static/degradation or whatever your want to call it, covered too much of the action. Couldn’t see what was happening most of the time cuz of those horizontal line effects covering everything so frequently

Halo reach didn’t destroy anything tho, it left halo on a relatively high note.
Nitpicks aside, it was an incredible sandbox shooter with a solid sandbox, great gameplay and excellent community tools. Easily the best shooter of 2010 and one of the greatest Xbox 360 games
