The video is excellent but the boat is even more wonderful ! Very satisfying ultra luxury- performance sail_ CNB 78 indeed. I really feel sad not being able to find a 50/55 ft boat with such luxurious furnishing and pedigree from this shipyard !
Hi Toby, we are here at the Cannes Boat Show with our brand new VisionF 82 “SITARA” - an 82-foot motor catamaran - built completely of aluminum and with a very exceptional design. If you are interested in visiting the yacht, just get in touch with the owner, that's me. Maybe we can make an exciting video out of it.Regards,HG
As usual no protection for the helmsman. Imagine going across the Atlantic in bad weather. The load on that main sheeting arrangement must be huge in strong winds, hopefully it will not snap otherwise someone can be killed. Apart from that, a stellar boat!
He said that you can mount a "winter packqge" that extended the cover throw the rear to cover the wheels. This is a performance oriented yatch, or so I understood, so all these usually have a "Maxi" style sailing cockpit, with widely separated exposed wheels for extra visivility when steeering by hand
Well what can one say shes is a perfect 10 ! sporty great living area fantastic cockpit area for entertaing and looks quite fast, even if i sell my company im still short a few million but what a way to go... Thank you Toby for showing us a boat that most of us wish for or aspire to have...fingers crossed...
Toby says CNB yachts are designed for the Mediterranean - maybe Karl and Annemarie Frank should have watched some Toby vids. I hear you can get a great deal on a sightly used CNB 66. Just keep your head on a swivel while on deck.
Stunning boat, interior is very comfortable, for long range cruising. However, I think an Oyster 565 or 595 would be better for myself. I really enjoy solo sailing when I can but appreciate having room for guests. In the last 50 years I have sailed from San Diego, as base, to Central America to Hawaii to Alaska and back. Not always in one trip however. I think if I were spending that much money I would get the Oyster 885! Cheers and thanks
True. But also very different boats. Like he said these are mostly meant as Mediterranean cruisers. The Rassy is a circumnavigator. Depends on what type of boating you're into. I know if I were doing passage making I would pick the Rassy every day of the week. Even if it got a less yacht like luxury appearance.
I could not come close to either. Does anyone want to give me £6m for a Contessa26. Nearly new (in the seventies). About 8 owners, some more careful than others. Engine replaced this century. Cold and cold running water. Air con, if you open the forward hatch. Offers to..... 😂😂😂😮
I have come to realize that it is not the length of hull that matters to me. It is the height of mast that limits my abilities/comfort. That is simply too much mast for me to ever be comfortable with. Nice to be on, with a crew and experienced skipper.
After Bayesian, suddenly those large fancy boats look different. Has it been designed by a capable designer? Did its designer reallly give top priority on safety or instead go and focuse on some owner-pleasing fancy features? Questions, questions...
Yes, I've had similar thoughts. I imagine it's designed as what I would call a "proper" sailing boat, but I would be asking a number of questions before travelling on any large yacht. First and foremost being, "How would it handle a knock-down?"
What I noticed is the lack of grab rails below and she is a beamy boat also how do you stay in any of the bunks at sea when healing what most of these yachts remind of are apartments on the water for the Mediterranean
Toby a question given that extra tall carbon lightening rod.... and the increased incidence and itensity of electrical storms recently how do they handle protecting the boat and the electrical systems? 🤔🧙🏻♂️🇬🇧 Its been a few years of Squalls and storms with a lot of lightning and quite a few reported strikes. Its a very attractive vessel but ... Its a global problem and especially in the boating hotspots... because thats the nature of Climate driven weather. Removable staple type rails on and below decks might help moving around the larger open spaces underway in rougher conditions. Recent events have revealed even on larger vessels one has to consider how to evacuate a wide boat space in the event of blow down as well as genuinely watertight hatches and Entrance.
@@General_Crock The mainsheet on a cruising boat should not be in the cockpit. Ever. Especially when a boat is over 12 or 13 tons displacement. Much too dangerous.
yet another yacht to show up your wealth while drinking coffe at the harbour. i would feel very unsafe in this empty cockpit, especially in rougher conditions. and when got proper hand rails got out of fashion...?
100% agree, no handrails etc. Not for proper sailing and "design" inside is "cheap kitchen style". I love old school craftsmanship, not CNC computer graphics. For short racing 300-600 nm with prof-crew ok. They know what to do on deck.

These are built by Solaris now. So the yard offers some exciting 50 and 55 (all new) yachts. They are a little sportier but no raised saloon
Check out the Arcona 50 then.
@@marc5809-c4w none of them offer the raised salon and the protected coockpit except CNB.

Wow that sone of the most beautiful interiors I have seen on a yacht !
Art in motion, thx for the tour Toby
Fantastic boat, really enjoyed the video
Good to hear, thank you!
Stunning boat. Can't wait for the 62. 78 is just far more boat than I need.
I want it, but...
Really likes that boat another great tour
Precisely the feature I've been looking for. A scan of the yacht at a glance.
Sunday evening dreaming ...thank you!
Yep

Thank you - I will indeed look out for you then!
Just ask for Hubert at the booth…
Hi Toby - just for my personal planning - you have any idea when you‘ll be at the booth these days in Cannes?
I hope I can sail with my idol Toby one day.

Love this boat, just would change the soft rooftop to a carbon rooftop and have removable sides and a couple of hatches

More or less the same price as an Hallberg rassy 69🤔🤔🤔 Great review as always Toby!!!

By the way, the wet deck looks much better than the dry one ))
Is there going to be a Neo 350 our 430 sail test video?

CNB killer mainsheet in the cockpit. Its just not safe on a cruising boat. Two people died from this on a CNB
It's where a mainsheet should be. On top of the cabin creates too many other issues, from sail trim to boom loading.
@@General_Crock The mainsheet on a cruising boat should not be in the cockpit. Ever. Especially when a boat is over 12 or 13 tons displacement. Much too dangerous.
I can't believe they still sell this deadly design....
What happened?
@@alamos8 I believe the block attachment on the deck broke in heavy winds and they were both killed trying to corral it.
As well.
