Got my TJ running again recently, was about to back out of the driveway and then the brake lines snapped off the cylinder and sprayed hydraulic fluid everywhere 😎. Now I have to wait until the fall to drive it again 😎😎😎😎

I had a 2018 VW GTI for 2 years. It was a fun 2 years while it lasted. Great daily driver, but not suitable for living in Michigan as I had to drive really far for work (premium fuel) and it snows half the time. Downgraded for a 2020 Jetta R-Line. Isn't as fun to drive and far slower, but it does better in the snow and is way more fuel efficient and cheaper overall. Hoping to get into a Golf R or Audi S3 in the future!
A used car video would be awesome, but it varies so much on what you are looking for, type, years, mileage, etc. As for most fun to drive, hands down is probably the Miata on this list. Lots of decent cars still around this range or much lower. I'm always looking for fun cars under 5k.
You guys easily make the best car reviews. I can tell you put a lot of love and effort into each video. Both of those things are hard to find in youtube videos. Plus they're hilarious. So thank you!

I absolutely love my 2020 Forte GT. I got mine for $23,000 USD in a manual. Autos can be found for $21,500. Easily, one of the best bang for your buck cars.

I think the only EcoBoosts they've driven are a whack ass convertible and a regular Ecoboost. They haven't driven the performance pack Ecoboost which would compare to the 1LE 4 cylinder Camaro, but with more power and way better visibility. I think if they had driven a performance pack EcoBoost, then it would have been in the top 5 for sure.
I daily drive an ND1 Miata. Everything you said is true. Best car I've ever owned (so far). You guys are awesome at what you do even when stuck inside.
Miata still has an image problem though, as to most girls it reminds them of what Barbie drove in her toy playhouse, and its not very practical. If in the market, I'd pick up a Fiata instead in Abarth trim. It doesn't say Fiat anywhere on it, and just has logos that look kind of like a Ferrari. In bright red with those fancy wheels you can just say I drive an Italian Abarth convertible which sounds way more exotic and sexy than I drive a Japanese Miata even though they're almost the same vehicle.
@@BoopSnoot But the Fiata has a worse engine, Worse interior, and it's even more expensive than the RF spec'd accordingly even without a hardtop option. Also dealers tend to stock exactly zero manuals. It will also due to brand image alone. Have worse resale value. The Miata is the by far better buy. I'm gonna say that the ND doesn't suffer with the image problem nearly as bad as the previous generations. I own a red ND2 RF Club. Literally everyone loves this thing. Also. Who the hell cares. Sucks to be them in their clunky CUVs hating their miserable lives.

I’m on my second ND Miata. Loud as hell at 80 on the highway. Deafening at 90. Hard to get in and out of, but oh, my, god is it fun. If I’m having a bad day , I just go for a drive and row the gears of that sweet 6 speed!
13mrbolivar loud as in cabin noise? Also, what trim? The club trim in the states seems like the best one for fun. Has the LSD and better suspension. It is right at that $30k mark though. With the Brembo/BBS package, it won’t be under $30k.
Courtland Jackson Jr. I have done some long highway drives in it. It has no problem getting up to speed but it is loud in the cabin. Don’t think there’s much sound dampening going on to keep the weight down. Anything over 80 miles an hour you are yelling if someone else is in the cabin. If I’m doing a long drive by myself I have some Bluetooth over the ear headphones which make a world of difference. My first one was a sport. Very wobbly suspension, yet very fun. I ended up crashing it sideways into a tree because I was messing around with the traction control turned off on a cold night. The sport does not have a limited slip differential! My current one is a black club edition with the Brembo/BBS package. Night and day difference. Suspension is truly superior. The limited slip differential completely transformed the car. I also have corksport springs on it.
In my opinion: You don't need tons of power to have fun... 300 horsepower is all you need... It all comes down to weight, exhaust sound, uniqueness, style, and character. :)
Yes I really liked your video and appreciate the fact that you help us budget limited buyers out with price limit categories. I like the Miata but it just not big enough for my needs, passenger comfort and trunk space for luggage. I owned a 2003 350z but it was automatic and I am inclined to buy another but with the manual. I really like the Civic SI because it is a sedan with lots of room and it is fun to drive! I had not given any thought to it but what about a Mustang with the 4 cylinder? I don't like the Camaro. I don't trust the VW offerings for long term ownership costs and reliability. I am not a mechanic and don't want to depend on dealers for maintenance upkeep. The BRZ has the boxer engine so again I have fear of owning. .... What compels me to the 350/370/400z is the naturally aspirated v6 . And since I enjoyed my 03 enough with the automatic, I am sure the manual in it would be very satisfying and fun. .... If you both had to buy a car with your money and had to PAY fpr any mechanical work on it other than simple maintenance like changing the oil, filters and rotate tires.... AND keep it for ten years or more..... What would you recommend???
Great review as always!! Other then your number 2 choice I can’t buy into it, I’d spend the money on a GTI. It might be slower and not have the pops/whistles of the Hyundai but the fit and finish of the GTI suits me better.

Veloster N: “Quite literally a riot.” Absolutely GD right. Just bought one (for son) (manual) and drove mountain roads. I’ve rented Miatas, Polaris’, WRX’s, 370z’s, Corvette C7/z51, and the Veloster was hands down the most fun! The others were great, but now I know why my son wanted this hot hatch!!! Holy moly!! No disappointment- except gas mileage. Sorry guys: Miata was slow and didn’t even have cup holders!!!!
‘15-‘17 Mustang GT Performance packs can be found for around $20k and they’re way better than anything on this list. If you want better gas mileage or a more manageable car just get the V6. And if you need new for some reason you can get a base GT brand new for $27,500. Put $2500 in the suspension (or just get the Magnaride option) and it’ll easily out-handle any of the cars you mentioned.
I don't really understand how you put the Fiat Abarth in here when the Fiesta ST is altogether a more rewarding drive, as anybody who's driven them back-to-back will confirm. Unfortunately North America never got the three-door but even as the five-door it is an incredibly well sorted, maniacally entertaining masterpiece.

As soon as he said it still has hydraulic power steering, I got a bit giddy. Sure, they're not nearly as reliable. Still, the road feel you get from it can't be matched. I want one, just for that.

Hate me for this, but with a twin turbo v6 that makes 365 bhp, awd with the ability to send 100% of the torque to the rear wheels, a 5.5 sec 0-60, and a 154 mph top speed, the eco boost ford flex is a fun sleeper car thats practical as hell

That's fair stock for stock but I would imagine if you get a quick tune on the 4 banger, it might be a bit different of a story. I have no true experience with Camaros so please take this with a grain of salt. This is just based off of what I've read and seen with other turbo 4s on the market.
Spencer D. A tuned 4-banger mustang will still get beat by a GT, especially a GT with bolt-ons. I would get a brz, veloster N, fiesta ST, or WRX if you want a cheap 4 cyclinder. Sure you can build a 4-cylinder mustang to beat a V8, but it will cost a lot more than just buying a V8. And once you start modifying the V8 (forced induction, NOS, etc.), it will destroy any ecoboost

It depends on each persons definition of fun. A mustang GT is slower than a civic type r on a track. On a drag strip the opposite is true. Depends on what is fun to you. They put a lot of smaller lighter cars on this list because in general they are more fun to drive, and even that is my own personal opinion lol.

I had a 2018 VW GTI for 2 years. It was a fun 2 years while it lasted. Great daily driver, but not suitable for living in Michigan as I had to drive really far for work (premium fuel) and it snows half the time. Downgraded for a 2020 Jetta R-Line. Isn't as fun to drive and far slower, but it does better in the snow and is way more fuel efficient and cheaper overall. Hoping to get into a Golf R or Audi S3 in the future!

A used car video would be awesome, but it varies so much on what you are looking for, type, years, mileage, etc. As for most fun to drive, hands down is probably the Miata on this list. Lots of decent cars still around this range or much lower. I'm always looking for fun cars under 5k.

I absolutely love my 2020 Forte GT. I got mine for $23,000 USD in a manual. Autos can be found for $21,500. Easily, one of the best bang for your buck cars.

I think the only EcoBoosts they've driven are a whack ass convertible and a regular Ecoboost. They haven't driven the performance pack Ecoboost which would compare to the 1LE 4 cylinder Camaro, but with more power and way better visibility. I think if they had driven a performance pack EcoBoost, then it would have been in the top 5 for sure.

I’m 12 seconds in. If the Miata isn’t number one, I’m going to be VERY upset.
Miata still has an image problem though, as to most girls it reminds them of what Barbie drove in her toy playhouse, and its not very practical. If in the market, I'd pick up a Fiata instead in Abarth trim. It doesn't say Fiat anywhere on it, and just has logos that look kind of like a Ferrari. In bright red with those fancy wheels you can just say I drive an Italian Abarth convertible which sounds way more exotic and sexy than I drive a Japanese Miata even though they're almost the same vehicle.
@@BoopSnoot But the Fiata has a worse engine, Worse interior, and it's even more expensive than the RF spec'd accordingly even without a hardtop option. Also dealers tend to stock exactly zero manuals. It will also due to brand image alone. Have worse resale value. The Miata is the by far better buy. I'm gonna say that the ND doesn't suffer with the image problem nearly as bad as the previous generations. I own a red ND2 RF Club. Literally everyone loves this thing. Also. Who the hell cares. Sucks to be them in their clunky CUVs hating their miserable lives.

I’m on my second ND Miata. Loud as hell at 80 on the highway. Deafening at 90. Hard to get in and out of, but oh, my, god is it fun. If I’m having a bad day , I just go for a drive and row the gears of that sweet 6 speed!
13mrbolivar loud as in cabin noise? Also, what trim? The club trim in the states seems like the best one for fun. Has the LSD and better suspension. It is right at that $30k mark though. With the Brembo/BBS package, it won’t be under $30k.
Courtland Jackson Jr. I have done some long highway drives in it. It has no problem getting up to speed but it is loud in the cabin. Don’t think there’s much sound dampening going on to keep the weight down. Anything over 80 miles an hour you are yelling if someone else is in the cabin. If I’m doing a long drive by myself I have some Bluetooth over the ear headphones which make a world of difference. My first one was a sport. Very wobbly suspension, yet very fun. I ended up crashing it sideways into a tree because I was messing around with the traction control turned off on a cold night. The sport does not have a limited slip differential! My current one is a black club edition with the Brembo/BBS package. Night and day difference. Suspension is truly superior. The limited slip differential completely transformed the car. I also have corksport springs on it.

Yes I really liked your video and appreciate the fact that you help us budget limited buyers out with price limit categories. I like the Miata but it just not big enough for my needs, passenger comfort and trunk space for luggage. I owned a 2003 350z but it was automatic and I am inclined to buy another but with the manual. I really like the Civic SI because it is a sedan with lots of room and it is fun to drive! I had not given any thought to it but what about a Mustang with the 4 cylinder? I don't like the Camaro. I don't trust the VW offerings for long term ownership costs and reliability. I am not a mechanic and don't want to depend on dealers for maintenance upkeep. The BRZ has the boxer engine so again I have fear of owning.
.... What compels me to the 350/370/400z is the naturally aspirated v6 . And since I enjoyed my 03 enough with the automatic, I am sure the manual in it would be very satisfying and fun.

Great review as always!! Other then your number 2 choice I can’t buy into it, I’d spend the money on a GTI. It might be slower and not have the pops/whistles of the Hyundai but the fit and finish of the GTI suits me better.

I’ve rented Miatas, Polaris’, WRX’s, 370z’s, Corvette C7/z51, and the Veloster was hands down the most fun! The others were great, but now I know why my son wanted this hot hatch!!! Holy moly!!

‘15-‘17 Mustang GT Performance packs can be found for around $20k and they’re way better than anything on this list. If you want better gas mileage or a more manageable car just get the V6.
And if you need new for some reason you can get a base GT brand new for $27,500. Put $2500 in the suspension (or just get the Magnaride option) and it’ll easily out-handle any of the cars you mentioned.

I don't really understand how you put the Fiat Abarth in here when the Fiesta ST is altogether a more rewarding drive, as anybody who's driven them back-to-back will confirm. Unfortunately North America never got the three-door but even as the five-door it is an incredibly well sorted, maniacally entertaining masterpiece.

As soon as he said it still has hydraulic power steering, I got a bit giddy. Sure, they're not nearly as reliable. Still, the road feel you get from it can't be matched. I want one, just for that.

Dont get any "muscle car "unless its a V8, trust me...all that "fun" you're having will soon be crushed once you find yourself a real V8 next to you lol, not a good shadow to be behind of.
That's fair stock for stock but I would imagine if you get a quick tune on the 4 banger, it might be a bit different of a story. I have no true experience with Camaros so please take this with a grain of salt. This is just based off of what I've read and seen with other turbo 4s on the market.
Spencer D. A tuned 4-banger mustang will still get beat by a GT, especially a GT with bolt-ons. I would get a brz, veloster N, fiesta ST, or WRX if you want a cheap 4 cyclinder. Sure you can build a 4-cylinder mustang to beat a V8, but it will cost a lot more than just buying a V8. And once you start modifying the V8 (forced induction, NOS, etc.), it will destroy any ecoboost
or get a 3.7 Mustang, drop 2.2k in it at AMR tuning, and stay right next to the v8s lol

It depends on each persons definition of fun. A mustang GT is slower than a civic type r on a track. On a drag strip the opposite is true. Depends on what is fun to you. They put a lot of smaller lighter cars on this list because in general they are more fun to drive, and even that is my own personal opinion lol.
