Oh man. This one has hit me where it hurts. Family holidays every year on the island and spending most of the time down on Sandown beach.
Thank you for your Isle of Wight videos. What a beautiful island!
I usually stay in shanklin every year ,I worked at he Culver lodge when I was younger spent most of he time n the castle pub ,brilliant memories ❤️❤️❤️💯
Beautifu; walk along the seafront the colour of the sky and sea was beautiful
I have so many happy memories here, thankyou for sharing
I stayed at the Ocean Hotel in 1965 when I was a kid. When my daughter was at Portsmouth Uni in the early 2000s we did a ferry trip over for the day and sat on the same beach. Sad to see it like that.
A very strange place oddly captivating....the walk from Sandown to Shanklin is fun along the seafront
Nice video, Kitti; thanks for sharing with us.
Beautiful
I will definitely come here one day
Well done , a nice video easy on the eye and no distracting “ music “ . Thank you for sharing this .
Hi, its EVE again, in 2019 I stayed in a hotel in sandown overlooking the premier inn, it was just a building site then, great to see it finished, thank you for another great walk.
i was there 2 days ago it didnt look great theres a lot of crumbling buildings which are derelict, the council have lost control
We stayed at Sandown for quite a few years before Covid came along, at the Sandringham Hotel shown at the end. While this hotel is very nice, the front along the Promenade and the town itself have fallen into the 'could do a whole lot better' category, especially compared to Shanklin.
I disagree. The beach at Sandown is far better & more accessible for people especially down by the bandstand where there are plenty of things to do for children to enjoy. The British need to see how beautiful Sandown Bay is from Culver Down on a lovely sunny day. The beach is usually top notch.
@@markdaniels2200 Yes the beach is very good, but I was really talking about the front from the Sandringham at one end to the Pier - it just looks run down and featureless. Also, the town main street needs to be
revitalised (number of shops closed etc).
that used to be a dolphin pool where those flats are at the beginning!
Slightly inaccurate. It was one of the world’s coldest public swimming pools. Not a single dolphin in The Blue Lagoon, just a bunch of half-frozen Island kids wondering why we had to take swimming lessons.
I remember a dolphin pool in that area as well - mid 1970's?
This place dont go if use sticks or wheelchair to much walking
And they let off dogs without a lease
The waterfront hotels are not nice looking at all and have no exterior personality. They look more like warehouses than seaside accommodations.
Restraunts ok here but everything else is shite
This place is gone horrid the water is black not even worth staying here
No good if disabled or special needs
Lol
