Thanks a lot. The main dealer told me they’d checked and cleaned the drains, yet still water was coming into the boot when it rained. Quickly checked now and it’s blocked. Will fix myself at the weekend.

Great video . Thanks for posting . I wish I had known about this before the front drain holes in wife's car got clogged resulting in a Volvo dealer quoting me £6000-65000 to fix corroded looms and fried ECU from water under passenger seat. Front Drainage hole entrances from the pano roof are ridiculously small diameter and its no wonder they get blocked easily . The ones on my Audi are much wider and drain much better. A Volvo design fault that ends up with the consumer picking up the bill. Dealers shoud tell people about these issues and inspect clogged drains at service rather than spending time washing and valeting the car. The cynic in me then realises that of course they would then lose out on £1000's of repair work fixing the issue

This video saved me a trip to the dealer. 🎉🎉🎉. The dealer was trying to beat me over the head telling me they will need to replace my whole sunroof. 😮😮. Not anymore. Thank you for this video.

Great explanation! thanks for sharing! It is exactly the same problem that I have. With an air compressor, a large draft of air was passed from the rear ends to the front, then with the sunroof closed, the roof was wetted with a garden hose and the problem persists... now thinking what can be done. In your case, did you have to do anything else? Thanks for the light!

    Hi Woody,
I have same Issue - also REAR side of sunroof is doing problems, so I try to park with front tilt to avoid of leak of sunroof.
I also cleaned drain tubes - unfortunately It was not my root cause.
so today I removed roof panel and removed whole sunroof frame to diagnose it.
    look what I found. ua-cam.com/video/7f_YoRaPoWo/v-deo.html
my drain pipes are clean - free to drain water from side rails, but I see problem with rear cross kanal (END of rear Sunfoor glass) - I found a loosen or partialy removed sealing. So This is making leak to my roof panel. I hope I can share some more videos.
@Woody I hope You are our of trouble now. If now this would also help.

Did you end up changing the sealing? Did it resolved the problem?

I am having the same issue with my 2016 XC90 and the tubes appear to be clean and clear. Do you have any instruction on how to remove the headliner? Is it screws plus clips that hold it in place?

What about the other side rear drain?

Its on the opposite side behind the battery. Its a very tight space, moving the battery will help with pulling the drain line and blowing it to make sure its clear.

Just bought a 2019 model. Having this problem with the front, not the rear. How do you clear the front ones?
