Great video. So much law and rules for Canada, here in Sweden there are now laws or rules for paddle boarding, canoe, kayak or small boats. Just navigation light if it's dark..
Thanks, Dan-Erik! Interesting Sweden has no official regulations. I think that's the same in a lot of countries. Here in Canada canoes and kayaks have additional requirements like a bailer. And fines can range from $200-$500.
Hi Marybeth very good video and quite polished. I like your lantern. Looks compressible and solar. What the name of it and where did you get it. Thanks Sean.
Thanks, Sean! The lanterns are LuminAID. I talk about it in this video here ua-cam.com/video/4INBIBjcHrc/v-deo.html. Video description has links too. They are compressible and can charge via solar or plug in. They also float since they are full of air.
Thanks for watching and commenting! A repair kit is important to bring if you are going on longer excursions where you have the time for a patch to dry and set. If you're travelling somewhere with your SUP I'd fully recommend bringing a repair kit ua-cam.com/video/tRSwl_XYTrg/v-deo.html For iSUPs, depending on the type of glue and where the hole is located you'll need anywhere from 12-24 hrs dry time. Keep in mind you'll also need to re-inflate your board so bring a pump too. Depending on the damage to your board, how well you are able to repair it, conditions your in and the location you're paddling, I'd seriously considering ending the excursion early. Hope that helps!
Add to that a drybag and some towels so that you can dry yourself after falling into the water and avoid hypothermia. A paddle float can come in handy when trying to climb back on to the paddleboard.
I agree with having a dry bag with a towel and extra clothes. Keep in mind you always want to dress for the water temps. ua-cam.com/video/xGaQVJJiODM/v-deo.htmlsi=41Uu4zwIlYx_Ua93 I'm not sure I fully agree on the paddle float for paddle boarding but am interested to test it out and see! I've only ever used one practicing sea kayak self re-entry ua-cam.com/video/VDVq_RhEyjo/v-deo.htmlsi=VGFmxiVTWxpJV7lP
Thanks for making this informative video! Just a question, why is carrying a PFD + a throw rope on board allowed instead of wearing the PFD all the time? I don’t quite understand the logic🤔
Thanks for watching and for the kind comment. Great question and one I've also wondered. My guess is that it's to encourage people to wear the PFD vs telling them they have to.
I'd love to hear more on why you think this. I think leashes are important if using the correct leash for the conditions/situations and worn properly (as I point out in this video at 2:59).
Great video, very informative and incredibly well done!
Thank you so much! 🙏🏼

Fantastic video!! Would you also recommend a patch kit for longer paddle excursions?

Adven CHA!
You know it! And no advencha unless safety is involved! ⛑️
Leash can be your demise.... Should definitively not be mandatory!!!
