Thanks from a old man who loves that Gang. I've been a fan of yours for some time and I enjoy watching you play. I have increased my own ability and learned much from your videos.I'm a self taught guitarist and I think that you are my only mentor. I would love to talk more but I'm off to play mine while the dish is still hot. Good luck!
Grew up in the Kent/Cleveland area.....James Gang played a lot....As I recall,Walsh played a blonde Tele back then.........Cover was $1. at JB's in Kent.....
JJ You were a little late for me . I learned Funk #49 a month or so ago and it took me forever to learn it and get the feel of the strumming without thinking about it. I still don't know how Joe or anybody can sing while playing those riffs. I guess I will keep working at it. Thanks for the video You cruised through it nicely.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE that guitar! Is that an original 68/69 Tele or a reproduction? I bought a 69 Olympic White Tele in 1969 but couldn’t afford the paisley. I recently bought a paisley Tele from a master luthier from Tacoma, WA, Joe Riggio. He was able to get the original design from Fender to reproduce the guitar. It looks & sounds AMAZING! Nice job on the on that amazing Gang tune!
Hey James James the big reveal kept coming up on my phone I thought it was a Fleetwood Mac song so I finally watched it and I got a good laugh.... because I went back and realized that other pic was Nigel......P.S..... we both don't like the same exact things about playing in a band.... which made me feel better about my decision
James James, thanks for posting. I’ve been watching your videos for years and have learned more from you than any other single source hands down. I’m a huge stones fan, huge Keith fan. I don’t imagine you could possibly read/respond to all of these posts but i just had one question: do you/have you ever practiced with a a metronome. Your rhythm is impressive and I’m just wondering how you got to that point of feel. Thanks, Nick
Every time I see a nice looking guitar for cheap it turns out to be an Epiphone. I especially like the Epiphones that look like Les Paul's wrapped in wallpaper.
I would say yes to the Les Paul if your were looking for the Eagles live versions of that song. Joe played various different guitars on the hotel tour. But he used a Les Paul studio for that song live in 76.
@@jamesjames9275 Yes! That's right! But he at the time was using a very beat up Les paul. I forget the exact model. I am gonna have to check! Thank you for the correction James!
I think that new Jimmy Page dragon Tele reproduction would look good in your collection....
Everyone's talking about the Tele, but how about that gorgeous Doug Flutie jersey

James James doing a James Gang Video. Its like a guitar vortex of awesome!
Muting, it’s an overlooked skill.
Makes the song and you master it.
Thanks for the great tutorials. I have learned so much from you in a short period. Keep up the excellent work.

Very nice! Go Bills.
Never realized about the hammer-on variations toward the end of the song. Many thanks for posting this video.
Man, you really play this well! Appreciate the video.
I missed that tele
Outstanding! Thank you! Cheers - Luther

Flutie!!
weren't you gonna get rid of this tele? I seem to recall that in some video from long ago.
I’m still thinking about it. It’s first on the list to go. But that’s subject to change!

Definitely a soundtrack in a film when the cocaine importing goes up a notch. or consumption.
CherryPhosphate70 🤣😂🤣😊
Flutie!!!

I played only rhythm guitar for 5 years before even attempting a solo. I think that helped my playing a lot.
Great song. How long did it take you to learn this? Is that an Epiphone or a real Fender? Thanks man. Best wishes.
That’s a Fender, a 1968 reissue. I don’t think Epiphone has ever made a Tele, have they?

I'm still trying to learn 1-48.
John Cesta Rookie mistake. You skipped funk #0. Tsk tsk tsk
Tele over the Les Paul? Les Paul seems more appropriate, no? In the long run, it doesn't matter, I'm just curious.
Listen to the James Gang recording. Tele all the way.

@@SebastianHalfpenny Gibson didn't make Les Paul Studios until the early 80s.
