If this is true, I give him props for stepping out of his comfort zone and actually trying. I know he really tries to make songs and music that everybody would enjoy. And this was said by him in an interview with somebody. Or expressed by him. He truly tries hard, and it makes him very nervous that people will hate his music. However, perhaps making music like this is good for him because he gets feedback and can do things differently next time he's expected to make more music like this. I just wish people werent so hateful about it. Some of the critisicm is downright rude and isnt helpful at all. Just a bunch of insults.
he has had made upbeat song like this before and they have all worked out very well. This one just happened to be not one of them unfortunate. In his defense he was overworked with XVI so he definitely having a burned out.
This song felt really weird at first but the more I listen to it the more it grows on me. Not sold for the choice during the msq, still feels not deserved? A bit not fitting? Gonna replay it soon and see how it feels again.
The main vocals are a little weird but besides that I don't get the hate for the song at all. Everyone just says "its a Disney movie song" but I don't get why that's bad. I think FF players just expect every main expac vocal theme to be a sad aria like Flow or Dragonsong.
i think my only real issue with this song is the mixing to be honest, it just feels really weirdly empty whenever it's not the full choral parts, in a way that i don't think was intentional and the chorus responses end up sounding more pitch-corrected than like it's just a lot of people singing
I agree completely. the soloist is too loud/intense over the instrumentals. and in addition to what you mentioned, during the call/response part, the chorus singers aren't entirely in time with the piano? which just makes things feel off. I think with some better mixing and maybe a few retakes, people would like this song a lot more. it has the potential imo.
I wasn't a fan at first but I've warmed up to it a lot after a few listens This upload is missing the last few minutes though for some reason, which are actually my favorite part

I had to come and watch a UA-cam video to try and actually hear this song. I swear to god I can barely hear the vocalist over the sound of her breathing and like... tongue smacking sounds. It's so fucking weird lmao. The song itself in theory could be good but the mixing is so strange. I'm so sorry Soken but this isn't your best work.
I thought this was "Oil Spill" from Bob's Burgers at the start there. And then it turns into "This is Me" from the Greatest Showman. What was Soken on? D:
@@IosLocarth Yeah you're right. That's why I'm saying it's silly people want something more story wise for their created character. As if role playing who your character is doesn't matter anymore.
I actually kinda am happy this was the ending theme, for one because it was so different to that of all the other expansions that were all very much in similiar style, so having this for the start of a new journey is fine, EXSPECIALLY at least for me because this expansion was not about the WoL really, like we were never before quite as much in a background support role as we were here for Wuk Lamat, so for me this was truely her Expansion and for her that theme kinda fits, with her ideology of happiness and also her more positive outlook on life and death Explanation for the Wuk Lamat thing: Normally even if expansion like stormblood with lyse had front and center characters it was always the WoL who had to defeat the big enemies, so it was alone the WoL and people supporting the WoL in some way that drove the main story In comparrison in dawntrail is that we never truely did anything meaningful without Wuk Lamat being front and center, like all the feats were her ideas and understanding the people or us supporting her, the fights she always was there even in the none trust trial and lastly we were quite often litterally told to stand aside and let her do what only she as the leader should do, which for me is fine simply because power scaling wise the wol is a monster for the writers i guess exspecially if you want to start the next arc in a way where you do not want to have our enemy and the stakes be something that power wise is stronger than despair personafied, sonce staring slower lets you build up a story once again BUT i also understand if people are kinda dissapointed with the player taking such a beackseat in comparrison to pretty much all the other expansions and did not enjoy being forced to be the support this time since it is a self insert MMO which normally does put the players in the main active roles
This is the first expansion that WoL become a mentor, real mentor to Wuk Lamat. We already beat the cosmic side enemy, this is our time to take part as mentor.

I like that the music direction was wildly different and I feel this tune growing on me, but I will admit, coming off the coattails of EW, I will say I was hoping from something a bit different. That being said the expansion makes up for it with some other great tracks.

No sorry. Anyone who makes this argument is incredibly off base or doesnt understand what good writing entails. It has absolutely nothing to do with "build up". Taken as an isolated narrative, it was incredibly weak. Do the same with HW or ShB for example and the same is entirely untrue. Regardless of what future stuff they are "setting up"

I'd say at least the bangers in the rest of the soundtrack more than make up for this weirdness of a song
I fucking hate this song, and I'm only here to remind myself how much I fucking hate this High School Musical trash.
i thought this was a song from The Greatest Showman lol
2:26, horrible performed there, what the fuck is that "carry on" LMAO.
The pitch for “carry on” should be going up, instead it’s going down for some indiscernible reason.
Why are the back singers loud as hell?
the vocal style is certainly a choice. the ends of all her notes sound offtune
I wasn't a fan at first but I've warmed up to it a lot after a few listens
This upload is missing the last few minutes though for some reason, which are actually my favorite part
I'm sorry but no..the vocals are so weak you can't even tell what they are singing the majority of the time.
What happened? The vocals are so bad. Is it a daughter of a producer or CEO? Yikes.
Its ok decently good song, i can see its not everone cup of tea but it grows on ya abit
A bit too Disney for my taste. The song itself is fine, but i couldnt bear it being paired with the train montage 😂
...yeah, but why at the train montage???... so weird
because its the entirety of Tural coming together in a moment of crisis as a community.
@@midgetsnowmanno it's just the western part lol. Like literally a couple of people

its dumb af lol this whole expansion was wack except for very few moments. should have left wuks ass in tuliyolal at halfways point and let krile have the spotlight for second half but nah they simultaneously had to shove wuk down our throats and up our asses
You need a little more whimsy
…are you thinking of the second time? The first time was the ceremony.
Nope
It did. 100%
Definitely not my favorite expansion theme, but the energy is perfect for the beginning of a new era
Its giving church vibes. We are giving praise to our favourite mother hydaelyn
This gives modern Disney vibes IMO. Not good. I can't decide what sound assaulted my ears worse between this or Wuk Lamat's English VA.

I actually really enjoyed this song, thought it fit Dawntrail really well
No, just.... now. Shadowbringers remains the best until today.
This but the video is compilations of every death in Dawn trail, including His son's phantom
I thought this was "Oil Spill" from Bob's Burgers at the start there. And then it turns into "This is Me" from the Greatest Showman. What was Soken on? D:
WHAT IS THIS FUCK ASS "LET IT GROW" SONG!? I CAN'T UNHEAR IT NOW! EVERYTIME THIS SONG COMES UP I THINK OF THE LORAX
should be wuk lamat standing on the rock at this point
No, she should be standing there and her axe head should cover the WoL so you can barely make them out.
@@TeemoTemosson lol accurate
The WoL gets glazed so hard throughout this expansion. What more do you want? 😂
@@JJBCrimsonKnight I mean that was intentional. Our story is over, this expac was Wuk Lamat's story. We're just the mentor figure
@@IosLocarth Yeah you're right. That's why I'm saying it's silly people want something more story wise for their created character. As if role playing who your character is doesn't matter anymore.
High school musical x FFXIV let's go
Wild Cats! Everywhere!
This literally sums up what dt is about. A lead writer who tried to make a theatre style story and who is known for very bad side stories
I actually kinda am happy this was the ending theme, for one because it was so different to that of all the other expansions that were all very much in similiar style, so having this for the start of a new journey is fine, EXSPECIALLY at least for me because this expansion was not about the WoL really, like we were never before quite as much in a background support role as we were here for Wuk Lamat, so for me this was truely her Expansion and for her that theme kinda fits, with her ideology of happiness and also her more positive outlook on life and death
Explanation for the Wuk Lamat thing:
Normally even if expansion like stormblood with lyse had front and center characters it was always the WoL who had to defeat the big enemies, so it was alone the WoL and people supporting the WoL in some way that drove the main story
In comparrison in dawntrail is that we never truely did anything meaningful without Wuk Lamat being front and center, like all the feats were her ideas and understanding the people or us supporting her, the fights she always was there even in the none trust trial and lastly we were quite often litterally told to stand aside and let her do what only she as the leader should do, which for me is fine simply because power scaling wise the wol is a monster for the writers i guess exspecially if you want to start the next arc in a way where you do not want to have our enemy and the stakes be something that power wise is stronger than despair personafied, sonce staring slower lets you build up a story once again
BUT i also understand if people are kinda dissapointed with the player taking such a beackseat in comparrison to pretty much all the other expansions and did not enjoy being forced to be the support this time since it is a self insert MMO which normally does put the players in the main active roles
This is the first expansion that WoL become a mentor, real mentor to Wuk Lamat. We already beat the cosmic side enemy, this is our time to take part as mentor.
@@bebekkurushonestly I would have liked for at least one section where we try to do things as usual only for it to blow up in our face, showing that even for as experienced as we are we are still fallible and have room to grow as a mentor. Even if it’s piss off pretty much the entire fanbase lol.
@@stitches1110 Haha.. yeah, it would be great to show Lamat’y that failure is a common things and how to handle it.
@@bebekkurus exactly. And given how many parallels to shadowbringiners there are in heritage lost on, you’d think that the wol would be more open to speaking with Wuk Lamat about his experiences with Emet, and his own battle over the lives of two civilizations.
The WOL this expansion was the sleeping eldritch horror just waiting for someone to try something lol
I was hoping to see the part of the mix from the trailer get made into a full ost, the part with the lyrics "just imagine what's around the bend"
Honestly, the real problem with the song are the vocals. They're too disney and gospel like. Just the melody with a more mellow set of vocals would have worked much better.
Why didn’t Amanda sing ? What is this song 😭 it sounds messed up tbh

Why the hell is the beginning so long???
To postpone the agony
It should be longer, as the song immediately gets worst when that woman starts singing
I like that the music direction was wildly different and I feel this tune growing on me, but I will admit, coming off the coattails of EW, I will say I was hoping from something a bit different. That being said the expansion makes up for it with some other great tracks.
the dissonance of the vocals is so jarring
The sturcture of the music is fantastic especially the harmony part, but I feel like the singer's tone is kind of sharp and tight(and a bit disorder) whenever she's soloing like does she the same singer from SHB and EW I just kind of feel like the quality doesnt match with the pre credit themes
I mean, it’s a japanese singer trying to do an english language musical styled song. There’s gonna be some bumpy sections.
I’m excited for when lyrics get released so the eng fluent cover artists can get their hands at this musical number.

Theres a part of me that hopes we get a more combat-oriented version of this(Like Flow into Flow Together), during some sort of battle where positive Dynamis is overflowing from us and our allies, or maybe a friendly battle with Wuk Lamat, Koana, and Bakool Ja Ja
The 1:00 part is really really bad, what the fuck happened to the singer there. The rest is ok
I wasn’t expecting gospel music but it’s oddly fitting for the feeling of “togetherness” that Dawntrail inspired
Good thing i always skip Credits so i didn't have to listen to this.
This has to be the worst song in the game, what were they thinking.
This theme does a great job representing what this expansion is about, and I adore it for that.

@@CorruptedMaterial what's with the toxicity? Where are you tourists coming from? Go back.

At least the content is good.
People mean to this expansion while they forget that THIS is a build-up story expansion after the long and depressed and hopeful 5 saga expansions end. Please, you cannot top the Endwalker-saga with just one expansion.
No sorry. Anyone who makes this argument is incredibly off base or doesnt understand what good writing entails. It has absolutely nothing to do with "build up". Taken as an isolated narrative, it was incredibly weak. Do the same with HW or ShB for example and the same is entirely untrue. Stakes do not make or break a story, you can absolutely write a great story with new characters, locations and events, etc etc. This was not it. Not by a long shot. Regardless of what future stuff they are "setting up"
here is me who loves this expansion, probably my favorite expac as a whole, SHB and EW were peak story, but DT was PEAK in everything else
@@blackandwhiteduo4971 Same, i'm an oldhead from eaerly HW and I still love this expac so far

This gives Neo-Disney not classic Disney vibes. That's not a good thing.
No its not?
Like the "Circle of Life"?
Sadly, although I respect everyone’s opinion on this, I can’t get behind it. The chorus is jarring, the pace sounds like they tried to make it like Moana’s ‘How Far I Go’ without sounding like it. It’s a P to the U for me.
I can completely get being surprised by the track, because it is very different to what we've had in the past, but for me it wasn't in a bad way, and I have found myself liking it more and more as i go 😊
I also loved the train montage 😆
