Had many D2s then a D4 ☹️ Thankfully sold the D4 before it cost me any more money , bought another D2, X reg with new galvanised chassis , all new brakes , suspension etc , still on air , ace still works , spot on 🤙 one happy bunny 🤙🤙🤙
You can buy rear chassis repair sections, they're not too bad to fit & it does away with all the messing about at the back. I've done loads for customers, works well. Beyond that you're usually into some outriggers & the odd hole here/there, nothing very scary. Worst case scenario, hoik the body off the chassis - we do so many it doesn't cost us a thought to hoik off the body - that gives you access to pretty much the entire chassis to do repairs. Once you get used to the process, it starts getting very fast - if we're still dicking about & the body isn't up after an hour, it's a very rare example where the bodymount bolts are corroded into a hoop & are putting up a fight. At that stage the plasma cutter comes out & they get melted - fitting new saves time.
That looks a very nice Disco. don't bother with the rear suspension sensors, just change both air bags. It'll be fine then. The rot is not too bad. I have seen worse.
With a d2 under 3/4k it’s basically fucking pot luck on the rust and other issues. Like I’ve had 1 a year, cost 3k, rust on original chassis and corrosion in a couple of places to be cut out and patched. But then I’ve got like a rebuilt auto box, no amigos, good axle and watts also the front is immaculate as it had a minor engine oil leak. Problem is like you said in other video, if you want one without a lift and modded by someone else they’re few and far between. Mine wasn’t, main reason I got it over others, standard es spec auto, beggars can’t be choosers anymore as they’re being scrapped so fast..shame. Anyway, love the channel and this is great to watch, I should have YT fixing mine but I can’t be arsed as it’ll be full of swearing hahaha!
