Forgot to mention too before the 3 min mark in the video you can see me hanging out of the fireman's window with my dad behind me. I'm now 42 years old. Glad i could be part of that history that's now long gone.
I have a question for whoever owns this video. It shows me and my dad in the locomotive that's hooking up to the engine. Is there a way I can screen record that part for my tube channel and my Facebook?
As someone that worked for cape cod railroad and helped dismantle the engine and inside the boiler, we found that the boiler was to far gone and we didn’t have the money to rebuild it. We turned it into a display piece of our own. In 1997 the state shut us down. Sad day of my young life after passing my rules book tests to become a fireman. Can I get this recording of the whistle also? I have never heard what these whistles sound like.
Thanks for sharing your recollections Forrest, it adds so much to the historical record. Please send us an email at bmrrhs@gmail.com and we can get you a sound clip!
@@bmrrhs I did that already. I never knew 1455 was the sole engine left in the world. Really wish we got it running. I also snatched the engineers chair out of it to keep but it was lost back home long time ago and have nothing left but memories of my old girl.

That’s a terrible shame this never happened! The cape deserves a steam engine. At least we have the FL9’s
Damn shame the CCCR never got around to restoring her.
Shout out to the dome car, Now the Dorethea Mae at CSRR
Are they restoring her?
What ever happened to the 1455? Last time I saw it was when this video was made back in 1993 in Hyannis.
It was sold to the Danbury Railway Museum in Connecticut where it resides on display today.
At one point it was a static display at Edaville Railroad
Man, seeing the engine rolling was just absolutely amazing. Do you mind if I use your recording of the B15s whistle on my B15 model for Trainz?
Is that railroad and the engine still running?
