My friend is having an ostomy surgery in a few days. We met with the Nurse today for education and I have to say your video is 100 times better and has more info on what to expect for patients too. Great job.
I am a retired nurse. It’s been several years since I’ve even seen an ostomy. But I’ve been asked to see a friend’s mother while they are away and help her if needed. Your video was a great review!
I am a nursing professor I got to hand it to you very detailed very educational I will refer my students to your video to enhance their skills and pass their N-CLEX first try. very nice video. Thanks
I have watched pretty much 95% of you videos. they are very helpful for me as i am preparing for my nclex. i can't thank enough for taking time to make these vids, like many others they want people to pay to watch their vids or pay for membership.. i am not to encourage you to do so :).... just want to say that you are not only a nurse but also an angel whose passion is to give and to help students to be be sucessful in their journeys.. you are beautiful, intelligent and has a kind heart..thank you
Wow, thanks for taking the time to leave me this comment, Leah :) It really meant a lot to me to read it. I'm just so happy you can benefit from my videos. I remember how tough it was prepping for NCLEX and getting through nursing school. I'm glad my channel can help you do that. I wish you the best when you take NCLEX. Again, thank you for these very encouraging words :)
I'm not studying to be a nurse, I will be getting a diverting loop ileostomy next week. This video is letting me know what I am getting myself into and what to look for. Thank you very much for the info and may God greatly bless you.
To be honest you are the best instructor, I can't imagine how many students and lazy instructor you helped. I would just say, Thank you for your service!!
Hey there, new nursing student here. We're just getting started so it'll be awhile before we get to ostomies (I found this video because I was curious about them) but I will definitely continue to watch your videos as I'm progressing through the program. Thanks for making this material freely available!
I am about to finish my nursing school but didn't come across this info from my lectures...thank you so much. supporting you here in Guyana, continue doing a great job.
Thank you so much :) I'm so glad you enjoyed the video. Thank you for watching it and for taking the time to leave this comment. I'm very honored to have a viewer from Guyana :)
Just did my reversal surgery about 2 weeks ago No more bag for me. Stayed in the hospital for about eight days it was a rough go for a little bit but I am doing Great now.
Wow this video is very educational. My daughter had a ileostomy as a newborn. The surgeons and nurses educated us as much as they could but the vocabulary was and the anatomy of the surgery was a difficult to understand. Especially when trying to describe what the surgeons had done for her! And what her care would be like going forward. I wish I had this video back then to help explain it. Thank you for posting this it has cleared up so many misconceptions I had and will help me describe her condition more accurately.
Hi Sarah, I just want to thank you for this video on the GI ostomy. It’s Very informative and it teaches a lot compared to what is being offered in my LPN nursing skills lab course. Thank you from a nursing student in Canada.
Oh my gosh!! You are a true educator. Thank you for the visuals, the descriptions and the overall breakdown. I’ve been teaching 16 years and got everything you delivered. Thank you so much!! Grandmother just had an Ileostomy.
Thanks for all this explanation. Make me appreciate and take care of my body and also appreciate doctors, nurses and every body who woks with the patient who had the misfortune of all of those suffering. Thanks.
Amazing, thank you so much for clearing up the nursing care for ileostomy/colostomy. My father in law had colectomy and it was hard to have all the education needed for him to manage the care of stoma/colostomy bag and drainage. Again, many thanks for the amazing helpful educational video. Keep the good work up😊😊😊
P.s. been watching you for years. Started as a RN student… now watching to precept new LPN, RN’s. They come fresh from school. I like to show (most learning is hands on).. but with new nurses I think it may help going back to anatomy and physiology (they are use to this to develop critical thinking).
Thank you. I know this as a med-surg nurse… but am preceptor to new nurse. Needed refresher on how to present to my student… other than we do this or that, and the why. I wanted to cover this common issue in a way that makes critical thinking since .. vs how I present to the patient.
I have watched several of your videos and they are always so easy to understand and very informative. Thank you for producing these. You are truly making a huge contribution to nursing and the medical field in general.
I am Indian nursing student, your lecture is mind blowing every basic concepts clear thanks for this video and your voice is very lovely and i love you so much
Hi, great video. I`ve had an ileostomy for 38 years, change every two days, using separate skin barrier, hollister pouch and skin prep ,eliminates skin break down by changing sooner than later.
Wow I couldn't answer this question in my test, how the ostomy looks like. Now I am learning with this video 🙏🙏🙏👍👍👍👌👌👌❤ Thank you, appreciate it my best UA-cam teacher.
It is very helpful , thanks a lot , whenever i tried to study for this subject i had to re watch your explanation ❤ i just made it very clear thanks alot ❤
I work in a nursing home and all your videos helped me to understand what my elders are going through, and how to take better care of them. Thank you so much.
Thank you so much Nurse Sarah , Iam in Uganda and i would like to tell you that your videos have been so good, they hav ehelped me alot through my studying especially the quiz , thank you so much , GOD bless you
That is an excellent piece of advice! I always try to study like this and it really helps! Thank you for sharing this, Kirk! Also, thank you for using my videos to help you study! Best wishes in your studies!
Congratulations! That is so awesome! Thank you for coming back and letting me know you passed. I wish you the best in your new career as a nurse. Thank you again for watching the videos!
I really appreciate you for making this video .It is so helpful for all nursing student and other HCP as well. you made very good job and covered all things with tiniest and specific details. Once again thank youuuuu so much.
Hello Gerlie :) You know what is so weird, I was just thinking about you the other day because I came across our last conversation in my messages, and then you contact me....so funny! I'm so happy to hear everything is going great for you in the OR. Wow, five months went so fast! It seems like you were just taking NCLEX last month. Thank you for saying "hi" and that you are doing good. It is good to hear from you :)
I just wanted to say congratulations on the awesome news :) SO EXCITING!! Yes, I most definitely will when I make it to Vegas :) Please let me know how everything goes ;-) Again, congrats...such a blessing!
I was just wondering if you had a video or any pointers on bowel obstruction or paralytic ileus we have a test in a couple of days for it. Your videos really help my classmates and I. Thank you so much for these!
Hello Tori :) I will add those topics to the list. Here are all my current GI videos: ua-cam.com/play/PLQrdx7rRsKfVVQ5TeRY7Vy1Tq3pcGTDFO.html I'm so happy my videos are helping you and your classmates...so AWESOME! Thank you so much for watching them!
Excellent video. I’m just interested in this because I have so many stomach problems I fear I may end up with one of these. I hope not. I leaned many things I didn’t know. Thank you. Keep up the good work.
Your videos are very helpful. You should teach one day. I understand you a lot better than some of my current professors in my nursing program. Thank you for posting this videos.
Thank you for this information! I have been out of nursing school for 3 years and unfortunately still need to take my Nclex exam. Family took over and I had a baby and I let things slip by with nursing. I am so nervous to take my Nclex and find a job now but these videos have been my life saver. I truly thank you. Do you think I will have trouble finding a job for being out of school for so long?
Hello Ashlea :) Life happens and family is the most important thing in life! I say take your NCLEX...pass it! And then start applying to jobs. It really depends because some employers are picky...while others aren't. It is the same for people who have just graduated from nursing school...it is really the lack of overall nursing experience (being a new grad)..not the time gap which is why some employers are picky. But don't let that hold you back because you will find a job. Just apply to everything and don't quit. Best wishes!
I'm so excited to just start my career finally! You have helped so many people with your videos and knowledge and you are certainly making a difference in peoples lives! :)
You're most welcome, Ashlea :) I'm so happy the advice helped! Thank you for your kind words. I wish you the best and you will be a nurse before you know it.
Good evening... I am a graduated in nursing six years ago and planning to take my nursing board exam.. your videos really help me a lot. Please, make a video about suctioning??? 😘😘😘🙏🙏🙏 thank u so much and goodnight.
Very precise and explained so well...easy to catch and remember every details of the topic...I will refer your channel to all my friends ..btw thank you for sharing your knowledge on how to pass the NCLEX..
Hello Yvette :) I actually talk about cardiac enzymes in my video about myocardial infarctions ( MIs). I start the explaination at 07:49 in this video: ua-cam.com/video/phu_x9FS7WY/v-deo.html I hope that helps!

Hello :) No, currently I don't, but I hope to in the future. Here are all the nursing skills videos I have at this time: ua-cam.com/play/PLQrdx7rRsKfUhd_qQYEbp0Eab3uUKhgKb.html Thank you for watching my videos :)
I love your videos. You're just too awesome. I was wondering if you can do a video about NCLEX style questions. I happened to fail the NCLEX few times. I think to me it's the "vagueness" answer choices that gets me. I used a lot of resources but the ACTUAL NCLEX answer choices is nothing like from the reviews I've used. I'm talking about KAPLAN, UWORLD, Saunders, Lippincott, and so on. I do fairly okay on the practice questions because the answer style choices are direct. So, if you know any way there is a method of answering these "vague" actual NCLEX questions, this would be very nice. The wordings they use are so tricky and makes you second guess a lot. I also have many friends who share similar concerns about this. Appreciate all the help.
Thank you so much for watching my videos. I really appreciate. I actually have some videos on how to dissect those tricky NCLEX questions. You can browse them here: ua-cam.com/users/RegisteredNurseRNsearch?query=nclex+style+questions Let me know if that helps :) Hang in there and keep trying...don't give up...it is a hard test.
You're most welcome :) Thank you for taking the time to write me this kind comment. I'm so happy you like my videos! I wish you the best when you take NCLEX-RN! Again, thank you for using my videos to help you prep!
