    Did my NCLEX-RN in August and failed. I had no idea that Archer review existed until I was looking on UA-cam for NCLEX review tips. Signed up for the Q-Bank and two days later found out that they also offered a On-Demand review and the price was a blessing because I haven't worked since February. I used the On-Demand videos primarily, when I felt like I needed more clarity I flipped through Saunders text, and did about 1800 practice questions in total. I was not nervous going into take the exam other than the usual important test jitters, when I came out I felt the overwhelming emotions rushing in, I couldn't wait until for the results. I PearsinVue Trick and got a good pop-up twice but that didn't make me feel any better. Today I finally got my quick result, and I PASSED!!!!! I love Morgan's review videos because she gives you need to know.

      @@swissygirl36 good luck! If you have been studying pretty regularly and you did decently on practice assessments, you will probably do well. The test is random and adaptive, so everyone will get dropped into a different category. I think the subjects they give you are also based on how well you do on the first 15 questions. I also recommend this video (see link) for a good general overall review of the "need to know" stuff (although there are a few minor mistakes, it's a nice broad but focused summary)... ua-cam.com/users/results?search_query=beautiful+nursing+nclex+review

    @1:42:34 why not C? you said excessive drooling is a sign of epiglotittis, but "assessing" which is part of ADPIE is, as you mentioned, a test taking strategy, so why not confirm/assess first Then once confirmed, prepare for EAE?

    • @ArcherReview
      @ArcherReview  2 роки тому

      Epiglottitis causes severe inflammation and swelling of the upper airway. The risk of airway compromise is the highest here. "Drooliing" is a sign of impending airway compromise. Other signs are muffled voice, tripod position, and stridor. In the presence of strong suspicion of epiglottitis and impending airway compromise; performing an oral exam may cause irritation of the upper airway --> leading to sudden airway compromise and death.
      Remember "ABC" prioritization in test taking strategies. Additionally, remember "when in distress and you have enough clues regarding what's causing the distress, do not assess! - INTERVENE"

    Question, I’m confused when getting a question of which patient to delegate to the LPN. Once I got it wrong because I selected vital signs and the rationale was that it was the UAPs job but the question didn’t include both the LPN and UAP. Only the LPN.

    • @lesagabrielle9114
      @lesagabrielle9114 2 роки тому

      they probably gave you a different option that an LPN can do but a UAP can’t do, so they wanted you to recognize that in that situation you wouldn’t delegate the “easier” task to the LPN

      without trying to sell you anything like the other people in these comments...lol
      When its a Best question- Think of it as the ONLY thing you can do. So if you were going to do ONLY one thing and leave, which action would help the most? that answer would the BEST option.
      First simply means that you would start whatever your doing with that action first. It does not prevent you from doing other things after like it does in the BEST questions.
      Hope this helps

    • @ArcherReview
      @ArcherReview  3 роки тому +2

      Usually, when the patient is “visibly” in distress, do not assess - see if you can offer help right away within your scope of practice. If there’s no such answer in the options, notify the physician immediately.

    LPNs cannot do IV placement unless they have a separate certification. Otherwise, it is not within their scope of practice with a bare LPN license.
    It used to be that LVNs can do push meds. But that is no longer the case.

    • @ArcherReview

      As per Maslow’s hierarchy, physiological needs take priority over emotional needs. The logic is that physiological needs such as oxygen, water, food, sleep are essential for the very existence - a person may get extremely sick or die if those are not met.
