So excited, my little cousin is a Sephora kid and she’s asking for dior lip oils and Charlotte tilbury highlights so I’m happy there’s alternatives to consider instead since she’s only 10
So glad this video was well timed for you Elle! The new generation of Sephora shoppers blows my mind, so luckily there are some great alternatives here (even potentially within 10-year-old pocket money range, if they're not given as gifts!) 🥰 x
Right?!?! I’ve only bought from sephora twice in my life. (Once was a 7 dollar lip balm and the other was a clarisonic with my christmas money i regret it so so so much). My parents also defs would never buy those stuff for me especially if i was that young so i did not think of asking. I will note i got lancome blush and eyeshadow samples from my grandma for my first introduction to makeup but even i didnt think those prices were justifiable for an elementary schooler. Idk i feel like they have an unrealistic warped sense of money and how much is reasonable to spend on makeup products (esp at their age) compared to a tiktoker or youtuber or something. Probs the difference is my concept of money was solidified before i started watching youtube in elementary school and theirs wasnt developed yet when they got addicted yet (no judgement im lowkey addicted to my phone too although i do know when its not appropriate to use it)
My first big makeup purchase was $45 of colourpop when I was 13. At ten it was all lip balm and a hint of perfume. Capitalism's willingness to exploit everyone and anyone even at their own risk horrifies me.

Hi! Matilda, Happy Monday! Elf is my holy grail when it comes to dupes, so I'm excited to see what you think of their blushes! I know you love your cream blushes and I could watch you swatch them for hours (honestly not gonna lie me too, I have an obsession haha)
I always get so excited whenever I see a new video post!! 🎉❤😅 it's like Christmas every time. I love that we share the same color palettes. It makes choosing new things so much more fun knowing I have reassurance 😂
Love hearing your comparisons between the products. Your love for makeup (and break downs of products) is something that I adore, and always keeps bringing me back for more! Another great video as always! Also hope you’re excited for Taylor’s upcoming album! Could possibly make a video around that and it’s aesthetic as well ;)
Live in the UK and from the US and always miss easier access to ELF and Wet n Wild! I adore the ELF blushes and NYX lip oil too; even before trying the original they were meant to dupe I think they hold up on their own formula wise. So glad you liked them xx
I absolutely love the halo glow highlight wand in champagne. It honestly blends into my skin so seamlessly. And while i am curious about the camo liquid blush, i don't know that I'll be buying it any time soon as i am still working through all my rare beauty minis from holiday sets. Including a holiday set in which i got a full size one in Happy. Meaning i will probably have that one forever. Will have to try the Nyx Fat Oil
Great comparisons, Matilda 🥰 The NYX Fat Oil is such a good find! So funny the way you said ‘doop’ at the end 😂 Looking forward to your other drugstore finds from the US too!
Great review Matilda! I have all the formulas of the originals that you mentioned and a few of the dupes. I agree that the elf halo glow wand is not nearly as smooth as the CT ones. The only time I reach for them instead of CT is if I want that exact elf color. I had bought a few and declutterred all but two colors I loved. My favs from this video are the cameo liquid blushes and the nyx lip oil. For me I use them as additional colors in my collection of the original formulas, with which I am seriously obsessed. I have almost every color of the rare beauty liquid blushes. I am strictly a cream and liquid blush girl. I find that they are very similar for sure. And the nyx lip oils are great. I’ve been using the Dior lip oil in mahogany for many years, and bought a couple more lighter colors but mahogany remains my favorite. The nyx is a great one as well though. Works just as well and as the color payoff is a bit more I had to get many of the different colors. Love them for summer. I was tempted to look at the covergirl liquid eyeshadow but it looks too chunky. I’ll stick with my LE formulas. Can’t wait to see what else you got.
Sounds like you're an absolute expert in this area! 😄👏 Thank you for sharing all of your product observations here. Tough question given you obviously love the range, but if you had to pick one Rare Soft Pinch shade, what's your favourite? x
As someone who cannot afford the Rare Beauty blush, I was so excited to try the Elf blush!! I actually picked up the same shade as you and it is wonderful. It blended so effortlessly despite being extremely pigmented. Elf also has a dupe for the Tarte maracuja juicy lip balm called Pout Clout Lip Plumping Pen, would love to see you try that next!
Another great video! I love how well you are able to describe the products and compare. I would love if you made a video of all the melting balms (hourglass, bud, elf, Mario, Mac, etc) and how they are similar/different.
Milani has a highlighter similar to the Charlotte Tilbury/e.l.f one that I like. I’m not much of a highlighter person but that gives me a nice glow and it doesn’t budge. I got a couple of the NYX fat oils when they came out just for fun; I like them but they are a little sticky and don’t really last very long. These are nice dupes!
Matilda! I've missed you for awhile....great to see you again. I loved this video. The Bobbi Brown sticks are great. Others to tey are Makeup Forever, Nars (if you can dind them), Laura Mercier, and the just dropped Clinique shadow stick/liner duos! I've tried them all on my hand, I can't decide which shade to get first! The stick sides are smooth, pigmented, bendable, and the powder shadow sides are also highly pigmented, smooth, and blendable whether on their own or one on top of the other. Most shades are monochromatic stick/powder, but there are two that are not. Forgive me for not remembering the names, yet, but the black stick has a gorgeous gold powder, and a taupey stick has an out of this world shimmery azure-y blue powder. All the sticks are shimmery, all the powders are shimmery. There seems to be no fallout, and I can't wait to buy and use on my eyes. I believe it sells for $34 US. I would be thrilled if Clinique would do the same combo for lips...a liner on one end and a lipstick or gloss on the other.
Big fan of the elf lip oil but I’ll have to try the nyx one! I had a hard time with the rare beauty blush (I’m literally the only person I know who doesn’t love it but I am a big fan of the cream version) so I will definitely opt for the elf at some point! Elf as a whole has really been impressing me lately, especially the big mood mascara in brown.
Oh nooo Mary, don't tell me there was a brown mascara I missed out on! I'm really into brown lately too so I'll have to see if it's available in Australia. Thanks for the tip! 😄🤎 x
yay another dupe video!!! and elf and rare beauty goodies nice!!!! so glad u enjoyed the U.S. love your content big fan also who is lisa ballerini? shoulda tested it next to stila kitten, definitely gonna try the lip oil.
I love ❤love ❤love ❤ Rare Beauty blush in the color Worth. I am very excited about the ELF new liquid blush thought. I use the ELF luminous Putty blush and love those too! Caramel pink is a great description for the BB brown eyeshadow stick. I love those type of colors for everyday/ work makeup. I use Julep eyeshadow stick in the color Hazelnut matte. More of a Carmel color. A pretty good dupe for Nars radiant creamy concealer is Neutrogena radiant cream concealer. Not enough colors though. I’m fair/ light and neutral/ pinkish. So easier to find a match.
Haha I definitely noticed the E.l.f. and Glossier product placement! 😂 I'd been meaning to work on a Regina George reel including some of those formulas x
Looking forward to the coming drugstore videos! Not a dupe but I really enjoy the Nyx corrector in pink they just launched! And will have a look at the Nyx lip oil for sure ❤
Hi Matilda! This might be a bit of a silly question - but I've always wondered, does your arm skin ever get irritated from placing/removing so many swatches? 😅I know that when I remove any makeup, I look red for what feels like forever. It must take a lot of time to film! Love your channel ❤
Hi Emi! Thank you for asking ☺️ It depends on the type of product! Anything really long-wearing like particular eyeshadows or lip products can be harder to remove, so my skin will often look a bit pink/red afterwards, but luckily not truly irritated or sore. I just try to take breaks and film other sections of the video between swatch groups! x
I actually haven't tried the brand before Melissa! To be honest, I feel a bit uncomfortable that they produce SUCH close copies of products, right down to the packaging, rather than a little more variation seen from other brands (as someone whose content has been copied in the past shot by shot, for example, I'd always rather see some different elements introduced). Let me know if you've tried any of their products! ☺️ x
Hi Aisree! I've only tried one cushion foundation from EM Cosmetics a few years ago and really enjoyed it. Let me know if you have any particular product suggestions for me! 😄👍 x
Hearing you say dupes and tubes with an American accent felt so weird and unsettling even though I’m American 😂 Very much appreciate your reviews as always
I love seeing these comparisons! So lemme preface my comment by saying that I am not a luxury makeup snob at all, I love a good cheap dupe. However, I really did not like the ELF highlight and contour wands compared to the Charlotte Tilbury version. The texture of the liquid is in the ELF ones is somehow goopy and...cornstarchy? I have oily-ish skin and it felt like it would never blend in properly. Other people's experience may be different, but I figured I'd share.
Interesting, thank you for sharing Sarah! I was just dabbing a very small amount of the highlighter on straight from the sponge and patting it in with my fingers, like I do with Charlotte Tilbury's too. What's your usual blending approach? ✨ Haven't tested the contour yet so I'll report back on that in a future episode! x
@@matildaonvideo I'm also a big fan of using fingers to apply liquid and cream products! I have tried applying the ELF ones the exact same way as my CT, but for some reason my skin seems to mesh better with the CT version. Who knows, maybe I just got a bad batch of the ELF or something? Either way, looking forward to your future reviews on more drugstore stuff!
I might have to pass on the e.l.f. liquid blushes 😢 I saw that rosewater is listed in the ingredients & my skin doesn't react well to it (gets itchy & inflammed). I think I'll stick to their putty blushes. Looking forward to see the rest of your USA haul!

don't you want to wait with makeup until she's 13/14 ?
Personal opinion, I think the elf lip oil and highlights are better😅 as well as the blush
Bonus: all the dupes - Elf, Covergirl, Nyx - are cruelty free.
