Hydraulics would be better but with the plastics you are working with does not require alot of tonnage ( clamping pressure).
I also work with basic Pneumatics with blow molds and End-of Arm tools for the 5 axis robots. So if you need anything let me know!

I've dealt with molds from 300lb to 21 tons. No difference than your molds ,same principles of producing the parts.

How could you modify this for use with larger molds? I have an 18 cavity senko and a 20 cavity trick worm and if only clamping on the bottom I feel like the top would flash
That's a massive mold... great question but I don't have an answer for that one.
