Crazy how they make Roman out of all legends and people a 99 on the game it just goes to show how people are pathetic thinking Roman isn’t even top 5 and yet he gets a 99 rating that’s wack man
God your voice in this is so annoying. All you do is bitch and complain. Over and over the whole video it’s “This game sucks! but it’s so cool!” “I hated all of it but it’s so cool!” “I was a punk ass kid that wasn’t good at games so I hated it but it was so cool!” Damn stfu! How did I even find this video?
10:06 I'm genuinely impressed they recaptured that specific Rock stunner sell from Wrestlemania 15. Just like in real life, his legs bounced off the ropes, causing him to flop backward towards the center of the ring
As an adult , I can now appreciate this game. But as a kid, I absolutely hated this game. I just hated that 90% of the matches were quick time events. I played it a couple of times and threw that piece of trash away and was so mad lmao.
I consider this game to be easy to play but hard to master. It’s tremendous fun and the addition of the SvR09 roster adds tons of moves a great chance to mix the past and present
Brother, you absolutely fucking nailed it! As someone who spent 1991 and 1992 playing Wrestlefest at the local arcade and then would head home to play Royal Rumble on SNES, that's what this game was, a game that captures the period perfectly. Dude you weren't alive to live the Wrestlefest Era but your review is so damn good. Hats off to you for understanding the context and capturing what this game is all about.
Wow! I’m so happy somebody from that era found this video. I can only imagine the nostalgia this game brings you aha. Thank you so much for the kind words and watching. @@WrestlinGifs You deserve it cause you knocked it out of the park! The NES game probably explains why you get it. It's impossible to answer your question. Legends of Wrestlemania was legit. I loved Rewriting and Recreating history. The controls and game play are a bit wonky at first, but it's pretty easy to get used to. One of my more remembered games when I was younger for sure
Idk why but I really loved this game. Its very nostalgic for me and unique. I hope they make a game solely for legends again with the addition of missed out wrestlers such as macho man, Ricky steamboat, and mick foley.

You might want to look at Legends of Wrestling 2 from 2002. That game handles terribly but it was a legit 80s style territory story mode game with the Jerry Lawler and Andy Kauffman rivalry and it featured Owen Hart. The games intro makes 1980s wrestling look like the attitude era with Saliva’s song Superstar blasting.

I applied those kicks to Bret Hart to never allow an opponent an opening, and then submitted everyone with the sharpshooter. The quick time events were what made this game different and amazing. Sure it wasn't the best WWE Game release by far but it's one I look back with fond memories. Great video as always Pav! Keep doing what you do brother 🙏🏽💯
Hey there Wrestlingifs I am a HUGE fan of your work. I am glad you talked about this game as even though I never even PLAYED a WWE game from the 80s, I am still such a huge fan of legends of wrestlemania as I had played it a couple times at my cousin’s house and I still loved it to this day!!!
being born in the mid 80s i have memories of watching the old WWF (Koko B Wear, Big Boss Man etc) aswell as Attitude Era WWE.....so i can apprciate both
Ah yes, this game. I remember being a kid like 11 or 12 years old when this came out and I was sold on the graphics and how great the crowd and arenas looked. I was like woah this looks awesome! But boy was I disappointed. I agree with everything you said about this game, the controls pissed me off, the way the match flowed pissed me off, and the fact that finishers had the stupid button pressing really just didn't do it for me. Looking back now it's not as terrible as I remember, I did play through the "showcase mode" and I did enjoy that. I feel like it would be awesome to see something like that come out in 2k24, possibly a "40 years of Wrestlemania" mode where you could recreate and rewrite history with new unique cutscenes like this game had back then. It was an underrated game for the time, but definitely not worth the $60 price at launch.
I never did play this game and I grew up playing all the SvRs and still play the 2k versions they make today. This game looks fun and amazing for all the reasons you mentioned. I probably would of hated this game back in 2009 for mechanics, but today I’d probably spend a good couple hours eating this up like some candy!
Fun fact: If you Irish whip your opponent towards the steps in a Hell In A Cell match, you can find a bag of thumbtacks next to them and you can use them as a weapon.
your experience with this game is very similar to mine i played it years ago hated it came back to it years later think it’s pretty cool wrestlemania tour mode is probably one of my favourite modes in any wrestling game now, the presentation of it is wwe13 attitude era levels of good also you can create mario in legends of wrestlemania so it’s a 10/10 masterpiece
I was 9 years old when this game came out. Back then I actually really enjoyed it, maybe because of all the legends that were in the game and like said I loved the fact that u were able to import the SM VS Raw 09 roster. I also enjoyed playing through the Wrestlemania mode as well as acing out the promo between Stone Cold VS The Rock
Remember binge playing this with my brothers all day with the svr 09 characters which blew our mind ! gameplay took some getting used (compared to svr) but it became a beautiful thing as a 9-10 year old
Can you do a video where you talk about Judgement Day 2004 and how crazy it was? I swear this ppv had everything from Dawn Marie getting pantsed, John Cena fought Rene Dupree of all people, Booker T doing all kinds of crazy shenanigans trying to beat the Undertaker, and without a doubt the bloodiest match in WWE history. I absolutely love your videos and they always keep me entertained! Keep it up bro!
While Backlash 2004 is notable for Randy Orton getting mauled by Cactus Jack and the WrestleMania 20 main event rematch, Judgment Day 2004 is notable for being the one where Eddie Guerrero bled like crazy and JBL main events his first PPV
Let's be 100% honest if this game had regular controls. It wouldve literally been regarded as one of the best ever !! Aesthetically and with the importing of the players!🔥 But they dropped the ball tremendously with those controls.
As a kid (7yo) I absolutely loved this game. I was watching 09 wwe as well as 80’s and 90’s wwe. I was watching all the wrestling I could and it was amazing to be able to play as older legends. I’ll never forget spending hours playing this and svr
I honestly loved this game for it's simplicity and it's history. I love the roster and I enjoyed the modes. It's not the best wrestling game by far but it's a fun one and it honestly has a unique charm that I like more than games like All Stars.
Fun fact about this game I went to my local theatre to watch extreme rules 2010 with my brother and after the show they announced a contest we all had our numbers and mine was picked I won a wrestlemania 26 poster, a dvd of greatest wrestlemania matches and a copy of legends of wrestlemania
I think this game would’ve worked out much better if they had the same control scheme as the SmackDown versus raw games at the time. I really enjoyed going back through and playing some of the matches but I think they just decided to combine the efforts into both games moving forward.
I was 8 when it came out and me and my friend were hyped too but disappointed that we didn’t understand the controls. I remember us staying up till 3 am trying to figure out how to play
I think it’s an underrated game I enjoyed it. I loved the manger interference I wish 2K would make the legends of wrestlemania two I know the first one was by THQ now the 2K has the license I wish they would make another one with the graphics and stuff they have today that would be amazing with the wrestlers from the 80s and 90s. I know it’s not that easy to get contracts and anything but I wish It could happen. I would love to play with more legends.
WWE Legends of WrestleMania was not a perfect WWE-related video game, but it was fun and enjoyable to play. I loved playing online on it. I would win and lose a lot online. Good times!
I still have my xbox 360 version from 2009! I liked the game back then and still do now! Ordered all the SVR games for the xbox 360, coming today! Can't wait to play them and will definitely import SVR 2009 into the game.
I was a fan of this game! Especially with the roster being all legends. I remember being super amazed with the graphics, especially during the entrances! Plus with the cut scenes and whatnot you get some things you haven’t seen in previous wrestling games! If it was more like the SVR games it probably would have been way more successful but for what it was it was pretty darn good!
I have a subject I'm interested in someone like you tackling: Wrestling and Anime. I have two reasons for this. 1) A SuperEyepatchWolf video basically revealed how Anime is actually Wrestling, because despite... literally everything about them being different, they have too many similar themes and storytelling styles to them 2) a couple years ago I got into the Kinnikuman manga and have been trying to watch the anime. Its basically a Shonen wrestling series with superhuman "Chojin" who at times just straight up fight to the death with wacky powers and techniques. It's an absolutely wild series and not too many people actually talk about it.
I'm unironically a fan of LoWM, it's trying to be its own thing rather than SvR with only legends. Plus the managers actually have a fully fledged purpose compared to most of the other SvRs
Agreed! I also enjoy this game including my Dad. This is the only game in which the the developers did their best on creating unique animations for managers. They should have done it in SVR and 2k games instead of using the same generic manager animations.
From someone who has played the Legends of Wrestling Games an this one I will always have a respect for these games. Bro I am subbed to your channel an have been for years but man RESPECT to the Legends of Wrestling real talk. I do agree importing SVR 2009 roster was AMAZING. Great Vid
Brooooooo chilll, you didn’t have too! wow. I’m actually shook. This is the first time I got a donation in the UA-cam comments. Didn’t even know it was possible 😅 WOW. Thank you though, I’m just glad I get to entertain you guys, and make content. I hope you enjoy this video as well. Thank you again for the support. Feel free to DM me on Twitter, I’ll try to do something special for you🙏🏼
Really would love to play this game it looks so much fun playing in the Golden Era. Just a shame you can combine it with SVR 09 which has the worst roster in the SVR series
Svr 2009 has a decent roster not the best literally the unlockable characters Tazz the ecw commentator, Tony some army guy, masked man and others then you had your main superstars undertaker, triple H ,John cena all of them .hardly any legends svr 2008 has a better roster there's legends .
I always made my own stories in my head in the games and that is why I loved this game because like you mentioned at the time no game had a roster like this! I really enjoyed this game, I was around 14 when I got it.
In my opinion, Legends of Wrestlemania is one of my favorite games. I started playing this game a few years ago, and I must say that this is better than 2k15 and 2k20. One of best of this game is that we can import SVR 2009 roster to this game. This game makes it ten times better than playing SVR 2009, even though people preferred the controls from that game. Another reason for enjoying this game is that there are legends that were never featured on any future WWE games like Kamala, Koko B Ware, Junkyard Dog, Iron Sheik, Nikolai Volkoff, and others. Overall, I don’t care what people say about this game, but I understand that it’s based on their taste of wrestling games in general. My Dad for instance doesn’t mind if the game is not perfect, but seeing the legends brings him a lot of memories.
I remember this was advertised as being on the PSP, but it never came out on that console. Still I went to every gamestop I could to try to find it like a madman. Long story short, I worked all summer to save up the 300+ dollars for a 360 just to get this game. Good times.
As a kid, i was HUGE into wrestling legends. I own Showdown: Legends of Wrestling and still can't figure out why reviewers hated that game. I still own a PS3 and this game is something i don't play often but every Wrestlemaina season, i pull this thing out and go back to the 80s and 90s.

I loved this game as a kid. I grew up with mainly SVR 08, WCW vs NWO and WrestleMania 2000
The royal rumble elimination animation was the best for any wwe game
Wish there were more wrestling games that went to different directions to make things more over the top
being born in the mid 80s i have memories of watching the old WWF (Koko B Wear, Big Boss Man etc) aswell as Attitude Era WWE.....so i can apprciate both
CM Punk lookin like a Disney character on the menu screen 😂
Bro looks like Aladdin
Not having randy savage was a sting for this game ngl
When you import the svr09 characters in this game it looks like a weird wwe all stars
It would be cool if we got something like this today for the people who grew up during the attitude era and ruthless aggression era
You already have that in WWE 13. And I think you can download mod for wwe2k23 of attitude era and all of that.
@@pafoneto1275 Unfortunately, a PC is required to download MODS. And not everyone has a PC.
I used to play this the demo on the 360 all the time between 2010 & 2011
I played this alot with my Friend at his House back in 2009
I never did play this game and I grew up playing all the SvRs and still play the 2k versions they make today. This game looks fun and amazing for all the reasons you mentioned. I probably would of hated this game back in 2009 for mechanics, but today I’d probably spend a good couple hours eating this up like some candy!
Fun fact: If you Irish whip your opponent towards the steps in a Hell In A Cell match, you can find a bag of thumbtacks next to them and you can use them as a weapon.
your experience with this game is very similar to mine i played it years ago hated it came back to it years later think it’s pretty cool
wrestlemania tour mode is probably one of my favourite modes in any wrestling game now, the presentation of it is wwe13 attitude era levels of good
also you can create mario in legends of wrestlemania so it’s a 10/10 masterpiece
I remember seeing an AD for this game in the SvR 2009 instruction manual.
I was top #15 on the overall leaderboard on ps3 on this game! I loved it!!
I was sick when I played this and it was stiff as school lunch 😂
Let's be 100% honest if this game had regular controls. It wouldve literally been regarded as one of the best ever !! Aesthetically and with the importing of the players!🔥
But they dropped the ball tremendously with those controls.
I remembered wanting to play the demo of this game back in the day. But whenever I tried to download it, my ps3 had an issue with it.
This was one of the first wrestling games I played and it helped me learn WWF history
Once again, WrestlinGifs is back at it! Uploading dope content!! Keep it up, man!
A problem I had is that there was a few notable people from the svr 09 roster that never got imported like big daddy v khali and a few more
I think this game would’ve worked out much better if they had the same control scheme as the SmackDown versus raw games at the time. I really enjoyed going back through and playing some of the matches but I think they just decided to combine the efforts into both games moving forward.
Im saddened by the fact that the import wrestlers feature would never happen in a WWE game today.
It wouldn't be free anyway.
It definitely wouldn't be free. Not with 2K at the helm lol.
I was 8 when it came out and me and my friend were hyped too but disappointed that we didn’t understand the controls. I remember us staying up till 3 am trying to figure out how to play
Man I was like 10 when I first played it the reason I loved it was finding out you could unlock other costumes for people
man i have fond memories of importing the 09 roster and having dream matches
i remember buying this game around 2011 and only playing it for a few days before going back to svr 11 and wwe all stars
Understandable. Both of the aforementioned are superior.
10:13 damn, i wish i was bret hart
Got so hyped when I saw this in my notifications! I used to play this game a ton when I was younger, but completely forgot about it for years haha!
why yours royal rumble video is private i loved it soo much😭
I think it’s an underrated game I enjoyed it.
Good times!
I used to want this game bad as a kid
1) A SuperEyepatchWolf video basically revealed how Anime is actually Wrestling, because despite... literally everything about them being different, they have too many similar themes and storytelling styles to them
2) a couple years ago I got into the Kinnikuman manga and have been trying to watch the anime. Its basically a Shonen wrestling series with superhuman "Chojin" who at times just straight up fight to the death with wacky powers and techniques. It's an absolutely wild series and not too many people actually talk about it.
I thought I was the only one that liked this game tbh, if it's a wrestling game I'll play it and although it was very different I honestly digged it
I'm unironically a fan of LoWM, it's trying to be its own thing rather than SvR with only legends.
This game with the controls of "here comes the pain" would've been one of the best
Still the only wrestling game with thumbtacks
From someone who has played the Legends of Wrestling Games an this one I will always have a respect for these games. Bro I am subbed to your channel an have been for years but man RESPECT to the Legends of Wrestling real talk. I do agree importing SVR 2009 roster was AMAZING. Great Vid
Bro, this video hit home. I grew up on the NES and SNES games.
Huge fan of the vid game content, thanks man.
Brooooooo chilll, you didn’t have too! wow. I’m actually shook. This is the first time I got a donation in the UA-cam comments. Didn’t even know it was possible 😅
WOW.
Svr 2009 has a decent roster not the best literally the unlockable characters Tazz the ecw commentator, Tony some army guy, masked man and others then you had your main superstars undertaker, triple H ,John cena all of them .hardly any legends svr 2008 has a better roster there's legends .
everytime i want to play story mode... it would not load or is looong loading time ... more than 30 minutes ors.. how can i bypass the loading time
This is the first (and to date, one of the few) games I ever got the platinum trophy for. Good times!
I always made my own stories in my head in the games and that is why I loved this game because like you mentioned at the time no game had a roster like this! I really enjoyed this game, I was around 14 when I got it.
I did that too. I even wrote out PPV events in a notebook, and tracked stats, title changes, etc. Some real nerd stuff 😂
Finally. Its relive the old wrestling arcade game is really good point.Kinda a time machine of wrestling games.
I remember playing this game on my Ps3 during a snowing weekend as a kid.
Good times.
I grew up playing the hell out of WrestleMania on the NES so now I feel ancient 😭
I had a lot of fun with the Royal Rumble in this game. Wasn't a great game but there was some fun to be had.
I loved how they allowed you to port them onto SVR9
As a kid, i was HUGE into wrestling legends. I own Showdown: Legends of Wrestling and still can't figure out why reviewers hated that game. I still own a PS3 and this game is something i don't play often but every Wrestlemaina season, i pull this thing out and go back to the 80s and 90s.
Showdown had an incredible roster, but that gameplay was buggy, unwieldy jank. Still, I did have my fair share of fun with it.
It was cool loading the roster from svr09 on to the legends game
