If you're going through a hard time, I hope this helps you realize that this is not the end, but just a PART of your story. Rejection is redirection. You are meant for wonderful things! Here to support you xx Edit: Guys, the APP isn't active anymore since I felt I wouldn't have enough time to do justice to it during residency. May be some time in the future? :)
Hey! such an amazing video it was. Actually I'm going through the same phase with my law degree and CS side by side, I was really confused until I saw your video! Feeling much much better now. I'm gonna start thinking about my plan B rationally now. Thank you!!
All the thoughts and emotions you shared here are honestly exactly the things I’m thinking and feeling right now as December is passing by for Match 2023. Hence, I think they were all very valid thoughts and emotions lol and since I have no idea what’s going to happen next year, I’m trying my best to think of plan Bs and Cs that can be executed too. Thank you for sharing your real emotions with us Ishwari. I really appreciate them so much. Hope residency is going well for you and I hope I can join you in becoming a PGY soon 😊❤
yeah, i could remember how low you were then...indeed your analogies are apt. You were literally in a one sided toxic relationship with medicine😂😂😂 but thank God for where you're now🥰🤗
You can apply to position which are unfilled even after the match and SOAP ends. You can also request your mentor/letter writers to reach out to programs on your behalf :)
Well, I ended up crying while watching this. I am an IMG living in US, with green card, had step 3 and MPH, still did not match, with 4 interviews. Currently struggling to find a decent job to survive, facing a child custody battle, and dealing with all that takes to raise a special needs child. Can life get any worse? People think USA is the land of opportunities, sure it is, if you don't have any other problems in life, I guess. I tell myself it is ok, I have survived this far, I can do the rest. Btw Congratulation to you, for matching!
I’m really sorry for what you’re going through :/ this process is extremely nerve racking. To top it off, you’ve been dealing with stuff a lot of us can’t even imagine. More strength and power to you. And, you’re right. You didn’t get this far only to get this far. There’s always a way. Please let me know if I can help in any way. You can reach out to me on: ishwarichandran@gmail.com All the best for everything ahead 💛
Hello,is it not possible to apply for match again with even better cv for next year?i mean...if u get rejected during 1st try...thats game over??i donno about match process etc...so...kindly excuse my illiteracy :)
Hey! :) Many people match after getting rejected in the first try. Just that, personally idk if I would’ve been able to go through it over again + I wanted to have a stable job before I applied once again (if I wanted to) because the whole process is v expensive :/
@@IshwariChandran i understand:)thanks for sharing!! Since u told of even thinking of other professions made me wonder if this is infact really gane over lol....but i understand the emotions...u went through.... All the best for residency now!🥰🥰

Hey. Can you please tell us how hard does it become to match if you have failed step 1 ? Is it impossible to match? Considering you’re a U.S. citizen! Please let me know Thanks a lot!
It's definitely not impossible! People match w failed attempts. It does reduce the number of programs one can apply to since some programs may have strict filters with the "passing at the first attempt" criteria. "How hard" it is to match honestly depends on a lot of things. I'd recommend focusing on other parts of the application, getting strong LoRs, networking and addressing this in the personal statement (eg. by sharing what the applicant learned from this experience and speaking about it positively).
