I love the Volvo Amazon! Your example is a true survivor car! I can't get over the low mileage and the fact that its only had one previous owner! It will be an amazing car once its finished!

Hey thanks buddy glad you like her like I mention it’s a dream build for me so really excited to get going and yeah the milage and condition still amazes me. It really does. Hopefully i get it moved to somewhere I can work on her.
My eye is fine thank you it’s all sorted now and yeah really wasn’t fun at all. 👍

Great to see this car coming along. Interesting video- you love your Amazon the same as I love mine. The interior smell and typical 60s simple basic controls are awesome and I find the wind down windows really cool. Funny how things change - I’ll post a video of mine soon - mines low mileage for the year - 1968 with 40’000 miles

Nice car mate. These were such well built cars. The engines are used in boat conversions by penta marine so reliable with twin su carbs cannot go wrong.

Great find. I had a Volvo Amazon 122s 20 years ago ,drive Dailey for a year until someone reversed back into me then that got me my first Vw beetle and never looked back but very cool tanks . Fingers crossed the engine frees up

Im about getting one before they are to expensive,, they are almost all gone even in sweden and they starting to get real expensive so its now or never. I gonna put a B230 turbo engine with a M47 gearbox, thats 5 speed maual overdrive from a 740/940 in it and and do some improvment on the horsepower to about 200 hp. I also gonna replace the rear axle to one from a 240, its just 3 cm whider. and you also get disk brakes
Yes definitely get one so glad I have one now. Sounds like an awesome build your planning. Mine will be completely standard but maybe an overdrive for the gearbox. We will see. Can’t wait to get going on this car!
@@SimpsonsClassics Even if the rest of the car was orginal i would go for the M47 5 speed overdrive gearbox instead of a separate overdrive. With the M47you should change the rear axel and have maybee 3,54:1 gear ratio instead of the amazon axel that got 4,56: witch makes the rpm much higher

did you goto warrington hospital? ive been there about 6 -7 times now for the same thing, not nice.
use brake fluid down the bores its very thin.
No St. Helens. It’s horrible had to go a few times myself also.

Is a non GT, 1967 Amazon 2door worth restoring? I have a chance to get one but I think it needs front and rear fenders…
