Yeah. I’m clueless about the 500w. How do you judge the “classic” tone when it’s being played through with such a daft bass - especially at the wrong end of the neck.
the side amps sounded awesome. but when you did the demo on the middle one there was a bit too much fiddling with the eq and and the player was changing playing styles a bit too quickly to get a good idea of what it can do. The jam at the end using the red amp was a lot better. It's got the goods. Great job guys.
Have had an Ampeg B-108 for years. Small enough for my apartment, yet large enough for acoustic gigs. Headphone out, aux in, it's all I really need. Has angled back to act as a floor monitor. Well happy.
There are indeed some classic tones in there in these amps. With that Warwick bass, could imagine doing some Beatles type tracks. The fuzz channel is a great extra. Lovin’ the Micro VR too.
Great Overview. Just noticed, at 14:59, when turning up the Bass a bit, i do not hear any effect ... seems to lack a bit of deep fundamental bass ... just my opinion
I haven't played this particular amp, but I would say no. Not on its own. I've had two different modern 100watt 12" combos, a fender rumble and an acoustic b100c, and neither was quite enough with rock drummer and guitarist. 200 watts would get pretty close, maybe even plenty depending on how loud band is, and how much low end you want in your tone. But keep in mind these, as well as most other combos, don't give you the full watts without an external speaker added. Example: this rb15 is 200 watts. But that's at 4 ohms with another speaker hooked up. On its own, it's 8 ohms, and it's probably closer to 130 or so. The 500 watt 210 by itself is probably 300-350 watts.
Are you sure your DI is not pre-EQ? I can't hear any difference in the direct out sound whilst Nathan is twiddling. (Edit - Ampeg say it's post, so must be my ears.)
yamaha speaker in background , im remember my father got same one back then i was kid , maybe not same, just similar one, but looks so clean , like a brand new, is reissue or what..?
I demo’d the 112 at my local guitar store today, really liked it. They didn’t have the 115 or 210. Really trying to do some research to find which one I want to go with. Can anyone help me out?
The ba series weigh 2 or 3 times as much as the new range. Some people think the extra weight helps give a heavier sound and there is something to be said for that extra mass but you have to consider will you just leave it in one place e.g. a studio or rehearsal space or of you will be moving it constantly up and down stairs to gigs etc.
Not as good as Victor Wooten. I play bass and guitar but I dislike lead bass. Instruments have a place in music. I'm a roots player on bass, less is more. Just my thoughts. Guitarists want to play faster and faster and bass player want to play lead. Modern music is interesting to say the least. The Ampeg amp sounds great. I've been using the Ampeg BA 210V. Works excellent for most gigs. Los Angeles
I think that head and cabinet would make a fantastic present for my wife…😉😉
Ditto!
That old chestnut...
Fair trade!
Happy wife happy life
I'll buy for you if buy off my wife
Not bad. Would prefer to hear these with old school passive P and Jazz basses.
Well the Sire V5 is passive, so there's that

As a guitarist , I need to say this bassists are really skilled and musical.
most bassists are. though they are never cocky as most guitar players are.
That kicking off jam was just AWESOME!

Class D Amps with Neo drivers are the way of the future for bassists... No more hernias, no more blown out backs.
Just FYI: RB combos has no neo drivers
@@antonioj.a3487 it was a general statement regarding the industry move as a whole not just AMPEG, Yer 10 ply Bud...
These dudes are blasting off of this world with great bass content!
And those jams just make me want a Warwick more than I already did!
absolutely FILTHY jams from these two lads!
Ampeg is now owned by Yamaha, so dealer / service support should be good.
That's true but their products are manufactured in communist China. Don't buy made in China!

Lovin’ the Micro VR too.
Looking nice and shiny guys. The bass licks at the beginning, I was like 'dayum girl'!
Could listen to these Cats play all day
Really like the sound of the Warwick bass. Nice :-)
i love your guys' intros so much
I guess there's some Danish Petery going on on the rhythm track ;-) or am I wrong?
Just brought the Ampeg BA 1x15 amp combo. Just brutal, love it. The Hartke 2x10's "pop" to much for my liking.
I used to have a BA 115. It was a great little practice combo. A bit heavier (physically)than these RB combos though they do sound really good.
The new combo’s I like them better than the vr stack.
Question. Can the second channel be controlled with a foot switch?
I blew a speaker once. It sounded just like that super grit setting.

I live the sound of the 112. Would it be loud enough to play with a rock drummer?

@@ni485 I'd probably just get the 210 instead
Need 300watts for playing With a crazy drummer...😅
Keep making bass vids. Ill keep watching
Thanks for the quality content, as always!
What a great sounding bass Lee is playing,
what is it exactly?
Warwick

DI is post-EQ and post effects loop per the circuit block diagram in the User Manual, which covers all RB models in the range.
Very nice indeed.
Is this a new video room?

The 4 dislikes must be from the Darkgkass sales reps
How does the rocket bass 210 compare the the ba210v2? which I'm guessing is no longer on the market?

Which bases are you playing?
Smooth! 😎
Sweet!
Anyone knows the model Warwick bass he’s playing? ❤
Goddayum i miss my Sire V5
Are they going to do guitar versions ..
what mic are you using in this clip?
Is the micro vr gig able volume-wise?
Sweet Warwick tho...
Is Pete Of frame ripping it up,? you two are grinning like the cat that ate the canary....
He sure is 🤘🏻
Anyone know the chord progression?? PLEASE
They sound really nice but to my ears, they don't sound particularly Ampegy.
The distortion on ampegs sound like crap.
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
The fan in them is noisy AF.
Makes the whole thing unusable. It‘s a shame.
If you’re talking about the RB combos, then if my RB-112 has a fan, I’ve never heard it. The user manual says nothing about a fan.
You must be referring to the Micro VR head. The RB combos are silent.

15 minutes and 2 dislikes already?! Wow
We get that a lot! Go figure.....
Great players but i wish they would have someone bring the thunder in these bass reviews. Always soft carrot jams
Wtf?
I sometimes get the feeling I speak a different language.
Soft carrot jams. lol

Why do bass players do that stupid exaggerated head bobbing?
It's all about the feel... That's why ;)
It's to create a counterweight to the massive, brass balls swinging.
@@ioncewas I was going to reply as well but you can't top perfection. Touche!
