Well, instead of playing a bass in the upper/higher note areas, how about play a bass in the lower octave areas. I find it unfathomable as to why a large portion of bass demonstrations are focused on the upper higher notes. It’s a bass, dudes.
Thank you for doing this video! I feel like there aren’t many Markbass reviews. I’ve finally decided to upgrade and started purchasing Markbass gear myself. Currently have the 4x10 cab. 15 will be coming next week.
I never actually find that these product reviews to be scam. I bought my Fender rumble amp because their reviews are detailed, spot on, and the most important thing, they did almost no cut on these reviews, and always take their time to explore what the products can do. They're truly my favourite
Congrats, Lee! That's one helluva rig! I had bought a Little Mark II second hand as a backup to my Euphonic Audio iAmp 800...and I like the sound of it so much, the Little Mark II is still my main amp after like 7 or 8 years! It works fantastic with my electric basses, upright basses and synth bass! Most upright pickups will have a 1/4 output (but may need a preamp to match the pickup's impedance with the impedance of the amp input), but it's great that the Little Mark Tube 800 has a 1/4" and XLR combo jack, which will let you plug in a mic (to mic up an upright), and the Little Mark Tube 800 (and Little Mark Tube) both have a switch to supply Phantom Power (+48V) to a condenser mic!
OMG, Lee’s phone & email should be blowing up with gig and recording session requests! I always love when he plays on extended opening segments. He inspires me to continue practicing and getting better!
Have to agree with Cici on 15 inch speakers. For extra oomph, I pair up my Rumble 200 with a GK MBE 1x15 cab (Celestion and Fender grill cloth covering the metal grill). Perfect fit, and the two 15s suit my P bass with flats just great.
Congrats Lee, great rig! Much prefer the older heads, putting the effects loop on the front feels a backward step with the 58R range IMO. But I love my Markbass rig, hope yours brings you as much joy!
Purchased my Sire V8 from you last year, Right now I have a Hartke HD410 cab and LX8500 amp, Think Im gonna have to order THAT stack from you guys next. Looks and sounds good Lee
I have been running the tube 800 for a long time now. Looooooooooooooove that amp. So much power on tap. I have the older version of the 410 and 115. That combo is an absolute earth shaker!!
I just watched the GK vs Mark Bass video the other day. I can see where Lee got the desire to get the Mark Bass, as it sounded more his style. It just doesn't sound like Cici's groove. She still makes it sound good, but Cici just sounds more like Cici on her Ashdown ABM. My main amps are Ashdown too and I too like more Blues/Rock styles like Cici plays in her band. I haven't reached the Ambient/Prog styles as Cici does in her solo music, but that should come in time with much more practice.
That is a fantastic looking rig, hope you enjoy it! That being said though, didn't we bust the '10s for highs and 15s for lows' thing about 60 years ago?
I started in 2, 15s, Bag End. Then when t to 2, 12s Epifani600 wat.. it's enough for me even with the double bass. I split the speakers stage left and right or do a cross stack like an X. These Markbass speakers and amps sound really good. Always save your back.
I have the single 12" combo and I think it weighs about the same as one of those - that's wild. They sound amazing. I run mine with everything pretty much as 12 noon - flat.
I bought a Tube800 head when they first came out. Think it was about 15 years later the disappointment came when it gave up the ghost. Honestly I’d buy another in a heartbeat if I was still gigging
I got a Tube 800 thinking it would be my 'dream head', but I just couldn't get along with it. The biggest issue, for me, was the 'high-mids' are way low at 800Hz, and the 'high' is 10kHz. That leaves nothing from 1kHz to 8kHz, which is exactly where I like a little bit of a boost for some 'sparkle'. Ultimately, any tone I tried to dial in sounded 'sterile' somehow. That and I never could really tell much difference between the 'solid state' and 'tube' section. I looked in there and it's just got a dinky little tube the size of a pencil tip eraser. I sold it and got a Vintage D2, which sounds a LOT better with a parametric EQ and a full-sized tube in the preamp. The current Vintage 58r also has a better (IMO) 'high-mid' EQ point at 2.2kHz, which is dang near perfect!
@@lesagogo1428 Never played one, so I can't comment. I still think the EQ points on the MM version are a little goofy, but I bet they would work for me pretty well over the 'regular' Markbass heads. I still prefer the sweepable mids of my Vintage D2 though.
Very tempting for someone with a severe spinal condition such as myself. Not a huge fan of the look, but my Hartke stuff is amazing but so dang heavy and my Mesa Tolex Mpulse 600 head weighs 60-70 pounds all by itself. I'll have to play through these sometime, see if i like the sound.
Everyone who owns it and gigged with it knows that the best DI out volume is at 12 o’clock right in the center ! But still an amazing amp ! But still important to notice that markbass amp are not designed to give you dirt sound… you need pedals. They are perfect clean platform amp but not good if you try to go all gain with low volume… the clipping led…… it just didn’t work out😬
WoW that MarkBass system sounds great. I just brought a GK 2X12 800 watt combo great sound but 1. that thing is heavy, 2 I can't get a deep bass tone from that unit. I thing I will trade it for a Markbass unit.
Also: what is the reason for having a bass port on the front or on the back? These new MarkBass cabinets have the bass port on the back, while my beloved and stolen 2x10 cab had the front bass port (the previous MarkBass models)... and I relied a lot on the front bass port to have more air pushed on stage, but on the other hand these new ones are so charming for their lightness!!!
Looks amazing ❤ Jelous of how light it looks. My old Marshall has a channel blend for it's solid state and tube channels works wonders 👍 Hope this will also last you 20+ years.
any review about these ultra light cabinet's from actual owners that took them on the road for a while? I heard they're more prone to being dented... me and my band members are quite rough when loading the van :)
Hi Lee, having played the Genz-Benz Shuttle 6 for about 20 years as you say, I'm curious to know why did you opt for the Markbass Little Mark Tube 800 instead of the new @Genzleramplification Kinetix 800 All Tube Preamp. Care to share?
Just been looking for 1 hour and can't find any trace of it anywhere online. Seems like a P8 - but can't find the colour/fretboard combination anywhere. Driving me nuts cause it's beautiful
Okay, cool vid, we can see that you are really enjoying, but, kinda disappointed you didn't mic the cabs at least with SM57 or Beta 52A... The Di Signal does not represent the sound of the cab itself :/
What do you think of the lightweight cabs sounds good to me but I have heard they do not go the lowest or deepest sounding if you will. I am not saying this is true or not what is your take on the cabs ..
Not sure who's told you that, I have a very similar setup to Lees in the video and I'm on my low B string a lot. These cabs have no problems shaking stages apart.
It’s been forever since I had to have any type of amp… almost jealous. But our sound guy kill me if I ever did that, I’ll have to stick with the sansamp.
Looks amazing … but my man MIC THE CABS 😑 It’s an amp and cab unboxing. It’s always so hard to find good cab reviews online and let’s be honest due to size it’s really hard to find a shop with a wide range of bass cabs on the floor to test.
Looks cool but i guarantee that based on the sound literally no one in the audience would ever be able to tell you got a new bass amp. Guitar amps are unique and different, bass amps are the fender bassman then every other bass amp ive ever played sounds exactly the same.
Have to disagree, I’ve played a ton of amps, including this exact one, it sounds very different. Think oh how many different bass tones there are, is that all in the pickups or wood or something? SVTs sound a lot different to bassmans, as do old vox amps, as do mesas, and especially my orange sounds like absolutely nothing else. They all sound like bass, but back to back the differences are there, if not stupidly substantial in most cases
I mean, you can definitely tell. But regardless, he literally says in the video that the point is to upgrade to a bigger rig for bigger gigs, not a new tone.
4:00 the “carpet” is the next worst thing next to not coming with covers. You should get covers for the prices they are asking. Not have to spend another bill or two on one.
Thank You Lee, wish you’ll enjoy your new rig for years to come! 💛💛
Marco & Markbass family
I honestly love the MarkBass yellow Jazz-style basses you released, too. Amazing instrument at that price point!
Lee seems like the nicest most pleasant dude, and he's a super great player. Enjoy your rig, bro. And I just can't help but love Cici.
Struggling to understand why people in the comments aren't blown away by Lee's incredible bass work 😂. Great player!
Well, instead of playing a bass in the upper/higher note areas, how about play a bass in the lower octave areas. I find it unfathomable as to why a large portion of bass demonstrations are focused on the upper higher notes. It’s a bass, dudes.
@@nowhearthis5067 It might be that it is less entertaining to hear only sub 200Hz rythm parts. I heard also some low B string.
I agree, my hero's are Bernard Edwards, Joe Dart and Lee!!!, would love to have his skillz
Love these two, great chemistry, and both great bassists. ❤
And thanks to Cici too 🤘
Thanks guys! :)
Love seeing Lee so excited for his new toys.😆
Cici, your playing is always enchanting, beautiful, mesmerizing... You are real inspiration, it's always a great pleasure to hear you ! Thanks !!!
Congratulations Lee, that is a great choice you've made! 🤩 I’m happy for you, it sounds fantastic…
I like this guy, he's really enthusiastic and I hope he has years of pleasure from New Amp Day.
Heck, never before been swayed at all by MarkBass stuff, after listening to the wonderful playing from CiCi and Lee Throwing shapes 🤟🤟🤟
I Like ❤️
Really disappointed you didn't mic the cabs, we're missing out on half the fun! Especially after talking about their tone and what they add.
I bought this rig, (except w/a 2x10), 2 years ago. My favorite amp ever
Thank you for doing this video! I feel like there aren’t many Markbass reviews. I’ve finally decided to upgrade and started purchasing Markbass gear myself. Currently have the 4x10 cab. 15 will be coming next week.
Cici absolutely kills it, just awesome! 😎
This always makes me want to buy a bass.
I never actually find that these product reviews to be scam. I bought my Fender rumble amp because their reviews are detailed, spot on, and the most important thing, they did almost no cut on these reviews, and always take their time to explore what the products can do. They're truly my favourite
Do it up. Maybe swap your amp to like a bassman too! Play both through it
My dream rig!! Thanks for this demo.
Congrats, Lee! That's one helluva rig! Wow loved that Cici bass playing when "she tried it"
17:40 Not sure what Cici's first "noodle" was, but I could listen to it all day ❤
I agree 100%, I listened to this part like ten times in a row just now 😄
Reminded me a lot of puscifer.
One great amp and two great bass players...👍🏼
That setup definitely looks awesome and sounds great as well, I can tell he’s gonna have fun playing that live
we have a bass section too. congrats on your Markbass. happy playing.
I've been wanting a rig like this for a long time. I guess it's time to start budgeting one...
And now I want to hear MORE of Cici’s music! 🎶

Should have mic'd up the cabs so we could hear them.
Congrats Lee, great rig! Much prefer the older heads, putting the effects loop on the front feels a backward step with the 58R range IMO. But I love my Markbass rig, hope yours brings you as much joy!
Excellent...haven't played bass live for over thirty years but that is a great looking and sounding rig! Jealous!

I'm a Mesa Boogie guy (Subway setup currently) but I like the Mark stuff also. My band's bassist plays Mark and I like the sounds he can get
Mind. Blown. Thank you! 😮
I tried that rig with the corvette at rehearsal, that sounds amazing!

Congrats on the new 'Barn Conversion Buster'. That should do the job nicely.
Congrats man. It's pretty awesome
These two people. Gotta love them
UNLEASH HELL CC, nice one guys enjoyed the vid.
thanks guys.
Good Stuff. Nice playing
Looks great Lee !
I've got a Little Marcus 1000 head, an MB58R 4x10 Pure and an MB58R 2x12 Pure cab - tone for absolute days and days. Enjoy the new rig Lee!
Something really nice about this amp
Awesome content 🎸😍🤘🏻
What model Ibanez is Cici playing in this video?
I wish they used the room mics to hear the cabs

Which Marcus Miller model is this ?

TalkBass is about to burst 💥 with that mismatch cab combination.
Why? Whats wrong with this combination?

The whole rig is lighter than an SVT Tube Head only.
My car is lighter than a SVT head…
That 410 is almost 1/3 the weight of my first 410 🤣

@seethroughhead505 Pretty sure that is just the Sire logo. Sort of like an infinity symbol
@@OdgeBrown Thank you
There is no doubt on my mind that the lil mark 800 is the best bass amp in the world"
How do you connect this amp to two cabs?
Typically, the amp would connect to the top cabinet, which would then be 'daisy chained' into the lower one.
Does anyone know if that bass used was a limited series made by Sire or a custom made model? I can’t find it online
Just been looking for 1 hour and can't find any trace of it anywhere online. Seems like a P8 - but can't find the colour/fretboard combination anywhere. Driving me nuts cause it's beautiful
