Many lives of elephants were lost in the building of many chola ruled temples India, we still dont know, where the elephants were buried or disposed, but when the chettiars(pandya nattu genetics) came to reside in chola kingdoms, the air and air of jealousy was cast chettiar women, and a homam was done, where many were burned to death. It must be the air of dead elephants which led to these events. Neverthless, kanjasthi is a must on this chettiar caste, their practice of not to be in debt, is a message that the three spritual worlds, will judge by the amount money you owe to the banks or external world.

Meyyappan Meya nothing proud in being a Nagarathar or an Indian or even Tamil for that matter. You could not even be proud of your own achievements as there is the part of several others in that also. Best not to be proud about anything.
Good work. Could have included how nagarathar are devoted to murugan. More explanation on how kaluthoor is combined together the day before marriage. And a small correction ICICI took over bank of Madura. So we cannot take pride of ICICI now.

Good work. Looks like most of the history you have narrated wad only passed along orally and doesn’t have clear evidences. But that is understandable. Wish other great Tamil communities like Maravars, Vanniyars, Nadars, Gounders, Vellallars, et al also post such videos providing information on their history. Tamils should learn who we are and what kind of a great society we lived in before cultural incursions robbed us of many of our traditions. What I like about Nagarathars is their piety and love for Tamil. They used to give their kids Tamil names but that tradition is vanishing quickly these days. Nagarathar parents are giving their kids Sanskrit names. The thing I don’t like about them is they don’t seem to oppose Varnasrama adharma strongly and the fact that they fund “Veda paatshala” in Pillayarpatti. Also stop asking for reservations. Your community is already proportionally well represented.
